hello there. I wrote you a few days back , asking you for a more slow movements for a better sight of the prices, and you pleased me, thank you, i´m from venezuela and the internet speed here is very slow and with your adjustments i can continue watching your videos better, i love them . Your videos gave me a chance to run away from our terrible reality, live under authoritarian regimes is not easy and your videos are like fresh air . thank you so much .
Lovely video Steve, I agree the Xmas Decoration section is much smaller this year, it just doesn’t have the Wow factor. I hope the windows are decorated as good as previous years.
Loving that you showed the aqua F&M shopping bag ornament that I purchased last year and had shipped across the Pond to me! Hoping more merchandise arrives. It’s still early.
I'm in the US, and there is a glass cat ornament at F&M I considered splurging on as a gift. It lists for 42 USD on their site. I found the exact same ornament on Amazon for 27 USD. Since then I've realized many F&M baubles are generic mass produced items that have their prices ridiculously inflated.
i think last year they were all prettier and more amazing...this year they are going for a kind of victorian vive with the fruits and things like that...and they dont have as many different themes, it seems. my favourite things were the faux candles to put on the tree and the "candy" section, that seems like a follow up from last year...those dark blue caramel ones were gorgeous. But besides that...what a downer. I've seen cuter things for 2 euros in Tedi here in Spain. yes, low quality and all but...they get you excited for christmas. this is like..oh, mushrooms. those dioramas are iconic, tho. and the christmas puzzles...gimme XDD thank you for the walk, tho!! gotta go check other videos then :)
Thanks for taking us along, I agree with you there seems to be a lot less and less variety of Christmas items. I liked the tea cakes ornaments, my favorite were the 3D paper cards they had some nice ones there! I did like Liberty better so far, better variety, I like the celestial ones from there as well as the astronauts! I’m from South Carolina, USA if you are wondering!
I have some Christmas candles. I never burn them. So then - are they really candles? Watched a few Christmas shopping in London vids over the years. F&M displays do seem sparce but it's early in the season. Like the pace of your video, good you stop for a second on items and prices so one can pause. Hello from rainy Oregon, US.
Would love to know the significance of mushrooms/toadstools at Christmas in Great Britain…have seen a lot of that over the years & am really curious. We really just don’t have that specific theme in the US.😊 I place an order from F&M, Harrods &/or Liberty London every year at Christmas!!🎅🏻
I have been lucky enough to have been giving presents bought from F&M, Harrods and Liberty over the years. I have to say that the results of these is my view that buying from an expensive shop does not mean you are getting the highest quality. The overheads involved in having, maintaining and dressing these magnificent shops (in terms of architecture and money spent on the displays) are enormous and is therefore reflected in profit margins. If you really know what you want, then you can buy something even better from somewhere else much cheaper. If you don’t know what you want, then get inspiration and go and find it elsewhere cheaper. I don’t know what percentage of the turnover, and therefore profit, is expected by these emporia from tourists or foreign orders but I would hazard a guess that it’s significant. I would also suggest that many of those native people who shop at these places are such a place financially that the cost is not a material concern; for others, it may be that their own self-confidence is so low that they feel they need the affirmation of buying expensive items; for some, it may still be that there is a presumed cache walking around with a F&M bag or displaying something with a Harrods label. Those two last groups should take advice on their mental health.
I went last November for afternoon tea and shopping which was amazing and I went on Sat 28th Sept 24 and the Christmas shop was hugely diff, I was very disappointed to be honest
Not as good as last year. Disappointing. Didn't like the fruit tree. Interesting range of food, but like you said a lot of it. Not that wild of many of the decorations, liked the plush, tea, toadstool (?) Delicate ones. Didn't like the toys. Loved their range of cards. Crackers looked beautiful 😍 despite what were in some of them. Loved the advent calenders. Liked the Peacock decorations, like Liberty's. Thought their candles were very pretty. Liked the jigsaw puzzles. Didn't like the glittterville decorations. I did like the plush ones. Liked the nostalgia decorations. I loved the large carved toadstool but don't know what they have to do with Christmas. Not very good, Libertys is still in the lead. Look forward to seeing some more.
Fortnum and Masons is about the most beautiful store I have seen in videos and pages. I always love your coverage there. Lots of gorgeous ornaments. I agree with you that the Christmas ornament displays are quite scant this year. They are more organized and placed in neat and clean sections on tables and against the wall. It loses the whole British/English Christmas feel of the 1800s - an icon for England. I did not get the natural whimsy Christmas feel. Sorry, I do not like the cardboard center display this year that replaced the Christmas Plum Puddings last year. Not happy about that - I cannot imagine what it even means. I love the fruit ornaments with the sugared finish on the surfaces. To your point, Steve, they may put more on and work at making it better between now and Christmas. Maybe. LOL Blessings.
Greetings from Virginia!!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!
Fortnum and Mason is by far the video I wait for every year ❤
Going in soon it looks good
Thankyou this is so beautiful to watch

Lovely. Thank you.
hi from Australia again, lots of beautiful decorations ,
Hi there and thanks for watching

I hope so too! You're right kust not quite there this year.... :)
Wonderful. 📯Fortnums announced that all wasn’t out yet in the Christmas section. More coming in November.
Loving that you showed the aqua F&M shopping bag ornament that I purchased last year and had shipped across the Pond to me! Hoping more merchandise arrives. It’s still early.
Wow thankyou you do some lovely videos it must be a joy to look around so many beautiful things I’d be spoilt for choice and bankrupt ❤️😊👍🏻
I know it needs very careful discipline and control 👍😀

Thank goodness for a bit of shopping around, also great info as well thank you 👍😀
I was surpriced not so many and beautiful decorations as last year. Lucky there were Nutcrackers. There was a bit lack of Christmas feeling😢🎄

Thanks so much for watching and your comment. Sad it's not so good this year 👍😀

Thanks Cathy :)
Nice, but I'm not sure if it's putting me in the Christmas spirit.
Love it!❤

No they are little candles with light bulbs in them for the effect. Thanks so much for watching and commenting as well :)
I feel like F&M is a bit lack luster as well. Still love videos though.
Totally agree .Went to Liberty after Steve’s video and the prices were ridiculous !!
Where is the usual F&M Christmas magic? Usually this store can’t be beaten!

Fantastic, get in early to make sure you have it before Christmas - happy ordering
We do at my house in Minnesota.
@@maggieclendenin6740 Wow!! That’s interesting….just not sure of the source of that theme, but kind of wondering.🤷
Me too! I think it's just a new trend that came in maybe last year or the year before. 🤔

Beautiful items but why didn’t they complete the fruit tree with a skirt under it.
Mushrooms 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Yes not as good this year. Hope you had a wonderful afternoon tea last year 😀👍

This isn't where they stop decorating for Christmas, is it?
I think it is on that floor. They will have Christmas windows in November and I will capture them then 👍😀
Definitely not as good as the Christmas puddings of 2023.
