These old gospel singing shows were still coming on t.v. well up into the seventies. Check out Arthur Smith from the Carolinas that used to come on. We never missed it.
Usually I’m like “people still make this music 🙄” to people who say this about older music, but you’re right - it’s really really difficult to find authentic new music like this
The only new music that I'll listen to are ones with an old school feel to it. A lot of this modern sound for today's generation doesn't appeal to me. A lot of today's music (mainly mainstream) sound downright terrible. I just prefer underground music tbh.
@@cammythompkins4379 Me too. I found a genre that totally revolves around sampling music from the 1920s(like this) it's called electro swing but you have to search cause some "bands" call themselves electro swing but make pop music. Captivating. Have watched this many times. Talented men . Probably treated despicably in those times but they forged through anyway. Went on to make history.
Never been a relegious guy. Just got out of the ’bad side of life’. Allmost a 100 years later this kind of music makes my head quiet, that little moment of peace. The power of music. I hope they had a good life
Why is it that I come back here every now and then and enjoy the hell out of this song... It's like I'm addicted to that song or something! HELP! ;) Hahahahh!
I can appreciate the sound and rhythm, it’s so calming. I also love how when the main singer is done with his verse, he steps to the side to show they are all equal within the group.
All of this without any fancy post production techniques. No auto-tune, no instrumentals added in later, no sampling. They were able to perform this live and sound great no problem. They probably all learned to sing starting early in childhood. I wish I could hear what it would have sounded like live, or what it would sound like if it had been recorded in a modern recording studio. It would sound even better.
IM not really sure, i think the audio is pre recorded and they are just acting, i mean look at the first second when the voices begin, they are jumping in at the wrong time.
@@peterrogers870 I'm sure they're really singing in the video, but the audio may well be recorded from a different studio session. In fact, it seems likely, because they would probably all need to have been close to a microphone for that, and I don't see any in this video. I am nonetheless sure that they would have been great live, and that there were no advanced production techniques used to make them sound better.
@@syncmonism This is called a Soundie.A Soundie was a pre cursor to music videos from the 40s,that were played on a special jukebox called a Mills Panoram. While regular Jukeboxes had vinyl records and a record player,Panorams had 16mm film reels,a 16mm film projector, and a screen. The projector would be inside the jukebox, around 10 or so film reels. When someone put in a quarter, and pressed a button, the film reel they chosed, would put the film strip into the projector, and play it on the screen. These Soundies are really ahead of there time, and because of sound quality most of these Soundies were lip synced. I know some people think Lip Syncing was made in the 90s,and MTV popularized the music video, but of course there wrong. Soundies would diminish in popularity and end production in the late 50s. Because of the low sound quality most Soundies are really relaxing to me. A few to note are The Jubalaires- Noah,The Mills Brothers-Till Then, Cab Calloway-Blues In The Night, and The Delta Rhythm Boys-Dem Dry Bones.

then God began to flood the land.
He raised His hands to heaven on high.
Shook the stars and moon from the sky.
Shook the mountains, He trebled the sea.
hitched the wind to his chariot wheels.
He stepped on land and stood on the shore.
And declared that time there wouldn't be no more.
Well it's oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God's gonna ride on the wind & tide.

this is pretty inaccurate, for starters, he doesn't say "thirty high", he says "venti high".
Glad you tried to transcribe it though, just needs a couple changes!
@@augusttomasson482 you clearly don't know scriptures to say this. I was going to put 300 cubics long according to scriptures but he clearly says 3 cubits long. In scriptures the arc's measurements are 300 cubits long 30 high and 50 wide. And what is a venti? He is not asking for starbucks 🤣
These are four of the flyest mafackas that ever graced the earth with harmony. I come back a few times a year to hear this banger!
This song is why my father was named Noah....great song
When you do something so well done that it still impresses people 75 years later
A fast pace strummed jive tends to do that, it's hard to accidentally not like this music when the 1930's were masters of harmonies, beats, and phrasing.

I think you mean John Jennings... yea, with the beard. I remember a video seeing him without the beard and they didn’t really look close
All jokes aside, this is the type of music we need more of.
On my PC account i have a playlist, if you search "electro swing mix i eat weebs for breakfast" you'll find it at the top(it should be, I tried it myself) electro swing mix is the name of the playlist and the channel name is i eat weebs for breakfast. 750 songs or so

Amazing, rock and rap come from church music. This is how real artists perform, just a stage and their talent.
Rock came from the mixing country, R&B, and gospel.
@@WillHoward2002 and gospel is church music so he was right

They was ahead of their way man.
