Definitely cotton yarn. So far I used catona, catonia and gründl(German and really nice, my favorite so far). I live in the Netherlands. You came pretty close with saying it right by the way!
Roll up the label & tuck it inside the skein I actually like inexpensive acrylic yarns because 1) there are a gazillion colors 2) budget friendly 3) am a really tight stitcher and it keeps its shape 4) I make for sculptural display, not a toy, so softness isn't a big deal and 5) I use my pricey yarns for accents on the amigurumi or for other things

We found Drops Safran, too and it is amazing ❤ lots of lovely colours and every time we go to Rīga for Minka's circus school, we always go to the yarn shop next to the circus and Minka spends her pocket money on yarn and Safran is cheap and cheerful so she can buy lots more if she chooses this... she's going for quantity 😂 she needs lots so she can share with friends Btw: Love your German attempts 😂😂😂😂

I suspect that catona and catania yarn the same, I believe they are manufactured in the same factory but for different companies in other countries.
