If anyone’s on PC and is using a controller you need to follow the vid up until you’re gonna quit the game. Instead of doing as you usually would, hover the “Quit Game” button with the mouse and then hit X or A on it with the controller and continue as usual, it’ll work then

I only realized while editing, but Andre also sells wood arrows for 3 souls each, so you only need to have 3k souls for a stack of 999. If you want to farm souls early game, the Hellkite dragon kills all the hollows on the bridge you find them and it gives around 500 souls each time. Hope this video helps

6 years now I’ve spent hundreds of hours, thousands of hours luring the npcs behind the moon crest wall off the cliff for Apx 7k every 40-60 seconds. And I could have gotten millions in less than 20? Pffffffffffffffffffffffff
Lol oh dang it worked! Got a bunch of souls on the first try I got it! I am playing on an Xbox Series X for me the buttons I had to press was "A" and "RB". 🎉 Thanks I never knew there was a glitch for this remastered version. Only going to use it on my secondary characters tho.
@@donvldwils0n yeah seems to be working for me on the Remastered version still. Get the menu to glitch by pressing A and RB is probably the hardest part because you have to press A slightly before RB but follow the steps and it should work. I used this on my secondary character. Careful watching and following the steps pretty much. You can do it just keep trying a few times I missed a step and didn't hit B after I rearranged the item to 2nd on the list. 0:40
Ok, i get to the overlap menus and press down to see the item menu scrolling to the 2nd slot in the background but when i hit ok, the quit menu dissapears and the use item/drop item menu pops back up bc i pressed X on the soul in the 2nd slot... what am I doing wrong and why does the quit menu dissapear every time?
Figured it out! For anyone having the same problem (quit game screen disappearing after glitch menu step) you HAVE to be on V. 1.01 or LATER!!! I was playing on a PS that didn’t have Wi-Fi connection so I was playing on the 1.0 base version on the disc… the menu disappears by default in 1.0! In 1.01 and later it was changed to stay up with u having to cancel out of it. Update your game to the newest version (1.03 is what I’m on and it works fine 👍). Hope this helps anyone who has the same problem
Thats weird because Ive done this many times on version 1.0 and im getting the same problem. Although i havent played in some time. I do however remember it not being this easy. There was some other input you had to do after getting to overlap menus, not just press down and X. IIRC you has to get to Default by pressing down and right at the same time. I'll try updating the game. Edit: updated 1.03 and works as shown.
I can't get this to work. When I pick the cestus up I get a different number than 317 and the glitch doesn't work. Should I clear my inventory except for the pikes?

It also works with humanity as well. It gives you only 99 humanity as that’s as high as it can go. Just a tip for instance if you have 5 humanity held and you do this it will use all your 5 humanity but get you up to 99 humanity. Happy souls hunting! Also love that facet of having souls on the switch, it’s not as bad ass and smooth as on my ps5 but it’s great to have for on the go if your a souls junkie like me lol!

PC + PS5 Controller. I cant seem to get the dual menus to appear. Any tips on timing? Tried a few hundred times will all types of variations of timing. Is it due to 120 hz? I tried 60 and different UI scale settings.
not work for me in pc. It ok all the way to the Quit Game menu. I choose 999 souls, click the yes and its just quit the game. its drops the souls from inventory before quit, but not save the droped souls, so i keep losing my souls constantly
Soul dupe part doesn't work for me, I tried the pinned comment strat of using the mouse and then hitting A but it just quits out and deletes my soul anyways..

Pretty sure as of June 24th 2024 it has been patched, I did everything perfectly but when I hit quit game and drop the 999 it actually sent me back to main menu and dropped my soul item and is now gone and unused :(
**EDIT** I’m on PC so I have the “PC settings”option in the menu in place of where I’m supposed to press quit game. If I went down to quit game it would say “drop item” instead of “use item” HOWEVER when I get it to say use item It won’t let me go past the actual number of soul items that’s in my inventory

Nah it should just be pressing ok. As long as you store the prompt of dropping the 999 arrows and your menu ends up on the item you want to consume, it should work
Ran into the same issue. It's cause by the menus being different between the PC and console versions. Following these steps causes you to drop the item and then quit out, deleting the item off the ground. You need to "burn" a down input before selecting "Quit Game," by pressing down and right on the d-pad at the same time once. This will cause the system menu to move down once without moving the item menu down. Now press down normally to select "Quit Game." If it worked, it'll show you the "Use Item" menu. If it didn't, it'll show you the "drop item" menu (or a different menu entirely if you burned the wrong number of down presses, I once got reset item order.)
Original: The drop option of the 999 standard arrows is not available for DS1 on ps5. Update Feb 18, 2024: the method still works on PS5, the issue i had was that i did not unequiped my 999 standard arrows. Once unequipped, the drop option becomes available.

apparently, I used a crack version of DS1 hence resulting my souls item to vanish instead of applying the glitch and the game to actually quit. Hence if any of you have the same result we might actually need to purchase the game for it to be usable .

You can buy any amount, but the number you buy is how many times it uses the item you choose. Arrows are pretty cheap, so it would probably be better to get 999 tho, but it’s up to you!

Just keep in mind that doing this on a stack of souls will use all of them, so it would be better to drop all but one in order to get more souls

You can get 999 arrows even earlier in the game, I'll let you figure out where.

You only need 2997 souls for this. Wooden Arrows cost 3 souls each, and it works with those too.

Idk how keyboard controls work, but as long as you can open the brightness setting and toggle the menus at the same time, it should work

You need it to store the value. You can have 999 of any stackable thing that can go that high but arrows are the easiest
