I still maintain to this day that yes, the term is "illusory" however..... Glad to have found a fellow "Illusionaryier"
You missed one on the Crystal pathway to Seath the Scaleless: at the opening of the end of the Crystal tunnel with two Crystal Lizards, there is a long invisible upward twisting Crystal pathway to a Blue Titanite Slab that requires many many Prism Stones to make visible - or not - if you think you can follow the spare falling snowflakes marking the passage to the Slab. Of course, it's really not secret, but the Shiny is easy to miss if you're not paying close attention, as it is very far away. There is also an obscured witch summons hidden by bushes at the bottom of the steps of the tower leading to the Moonlight Butterfly in Darkroot Garden. If summoned, her gear is later available at the end of a short pathway when exiting left from the Firelink Shrine Tower into the Valley of the Drakes/entrance into Blighttown.
Thanks for watching, I've covered these two extra secrets in some of my more recent videos, but always appreciate people suggesting new secrets! Keep em coming 😎
The secret bonfire in the catacombs with the skeleton blacksmith trapped me in the catacombs for hours. I was way too weak to escape. Leaving those catacombs finally felt like leaving hell 😂

Wow im so glad to say i knew about all of these. Granted i did NOT find them all on my own. Just reading through forums and people mentionin it. Now the giant you can kill in sens fortress (you can kill them all) that opens the door i found on accident during a playthrough on my switch. Never knew about it until about 2 years ago. Never seen a video on it either. Felt like i had discovered a great secret lol, t'wasn't
I found them all and interestingly also remember them all, even though it is years since I played Dark Souls. Finding Ash Lake, was one of my favorite atmospheric gaming moments. There are also more secrets on the way there.
@@libralonix i hate that section of the game thee most since ive been doing chaos zweihander everytime extremely early in the game like pre sens fortress lamao
Cool list. I love this game and my favorite level is the abyss. What an interesting place lore wise and all these areas are filled with great lore and visual storytelling. If your new to the game still, hit all these areas because they feel so incredibly special. Especially Ash Lake when the music kicks in. Its that moment you say to yourself ,"Ooooh wow! This is SEVERELY important!". Then you get to the baby dragon... 😎👍

I wil conceded the Aah Lake reveal is beautiful though!
@@libralonix I discovered it grinding for the plat trophyand I agree. It could use more enemies, some more features, and of course a wickedly awesome boss instead of an easy to beat hydra. I'm not sure if it was rushed or if it's one of those Miyazaki quirks. I heard sometimes it's a matter of the visual storytelling over action with him and this is supposed to be a MAJOR lore area that wraps up Havel's plot against Seath, the attempted ending of the gods, and Seath's seizure of the area. Miyazaki might have also put a lack of enemies there (put there by Seath himself 😉), to possibly show that the area might have been important to Seath, but this also led the pale dragon into a dead end so he let it decay into what it is when you discover it. I'll have to look into it myself on that, but I agree with your feeling. I also think it would have been worth it to more people if they had a crazy boss down there as that is some epic music to hype ash lake up for so little. Anyways keep playing out there sunbro and thanks for the great vid again. I am on DSIII right now and am still finding new stuff 6 years later lol!
I am envious that you played these games without googling everything beforehand, or watching speed runners etc. I spoiled most of the "secrets" in this game, the only area I found without knowing it existed, was the poison bit in Lost Isalith where you can meet Seigemeyer.
I'm in a very fortunate position where I get to spend 8 hours a day playing video games, so being able to attempt these "blind" is a luxury most gamers just don't have the time for. Personally, I am so glad i managed to do them this way though, the feeling of accomplishment for literally doing anything was amazing, and the only game i had played even remotely similar before hand was Jedi Fallen Order, so you can imagine how unprepared i was!
There are no secrets to any of the souls games or bloodborne for me. I have the collectors edition strategy guides that i bought the day i bought the games. I miss strategy guides.😂
If they are the FuturePress guides they are an absolute must have for any fan, personally i like to play the games blind on a first playthrough, but its great to learn all the secrets after a few playthroughs of exploring!
In ash lake there usually is messages if you are online so there is that. I found also almost all of them. Only thing i googled was how to get to DLC since it is kinda weird you have to go that spot like 2-3 times to portal to appear
@@libralonix I disagree. The other games all have a similar aesthetic. Classic dark medieval fantasy, and that makes them bleed together more easily. I have thousands of hours combined between all the games, except Sekiro, and I frequently mix up bosses. Bloodborne, on the other hand, is unique in its style. The bosses are Victorian, Lovecraftian horror. That stands out. Their attacks are more mystical, their sounds more screechy. The only boss in Bloodborne that looks anything like the Demon's and Dark Souls and Elden Ring bosses is the Shadow of Yharnam. Maybe Rom. But that's it.
Start the game 1 week ago, play with a friend to obtain some tail item (was a pain for the black dragon in the dlc) or guide me since I was lost quite often. However found most of this list except how to get the silver pendant and the fact that we can reach Gwendolyn without killing the princess. Also I think we can add how to join the "dark covenant" the one that require you to defeat the 4 kings and talked to the serpent there instead of the one in firelink.

There's 2 or 3 I missed on my initial playthrough of ds1. The ladder in sens fortress goin to the rooftop that allows you to fight the giant that opens the gate, I found completely by accident. I told a friend of mine about it and he was shocked as he didn't think that giant could be killed

@Conpauleonina I can completely appreciate that, my first playthrough of the souls games was when the servers were down, so I'm not a huge fan of the Invasion mechanic. Maybe give it a go offline? O&S are also a huge roadblock for all first players, but with a bit of practice you will let through them, one small tip is focus on one of them at a time, and I found pyromancy very handy against orstein in my SL1 run, absolutely melted him!
I dont understand why this game looks more tense then their successor. Darkroot garden is my pvp spot of all time, the burg, sens fortress, poison swamp, painted world, catacombs, it seems they really put their soul in this game after a pact with the devil or something 😂

I am in the process of adding timestamps to all my back catalogue, but its taking some time to get through them. All new videos come with timestamps from the get go though!
I think ash lake is one of the best hidden areas for many reasons. 1 it’s in blighttown and many new players aren’t going to want to explore it cuz. Well. It’s blighttown. And 2 it’s behind 2 hidden walls and a long fucked up path down a tree with fucking crazy frogs! But when you get there it’s ahhhhhh. I wish they did more with the area.
I completely missed it on my first playthrough, and then when i found it on the 2nd run, i was kinda glad i missed it first time round. I do agree, i wish they had done more with it. After getting through the Great Hollow, Ash Lake feels like a bit of a let down
i knew all of those but your voice was so soothing that i kept watching till the end
Well what a lovely comment, thanks for watching!
Been playing this game for years and I never knew about #8 or #11, nice video!
That's awesome, glad to shine some new stuff your way!
After my first 80+ hour playthrough i didn,t knew about #8 #12 #13 and bonus section containing extra info at the end about blacksmith and flames. Thanks for the vid, cheers
My pleasure, hope you enjoyed your playthrough! Whats next on your gaming agenda.....Dark Souls 2?
@@libralonix Thank you very much, indeed I did enjoy it like none other gaming experience ever before. Now I'm somewhere in the middle, or maybe even futher of DS 2, after 45+ hours, of which I spent at least few chasing my own tail, not knowing what did I miss. But now I guess it's ok. And I have to admit that I'm having more fun than I had with DS1 so far :)
It was really fun to watch this and realize I'd found almost all of them in my own playthrough! (Except that one wall in Sen's Fortress that needs to be hit rather than rolled through...)
Nicely done! That Sens Fortress wall is a slightly annoying one for not following the normal rules!
Number 11 blew my mind. This is my favorite game. I have played it many many times and watched hundreds of hours of videos on it. I have never known of this bonfire and I doubt many others do.
Glad to be of help! I completely missed this on my first playthrough too, so easily done!
There's a spot where you can SEE this bonfire (in between cracks in the wall), and it's a big tease because you can't get to it from there.
@@pjbarnestx oooo really? i will definitely have to take a gander at this!
Depending on what you’ve done in your playthrough, there’s also a Patches interaction right above the bonfire room.
@@frankgrimes7388 Its funny you mention that, I don't remember finding Patches here on my first few playthroughs, and then on my most recent Boss Randomiser run I did he was up there. Do you know what the requirements are to make him appear here?
Secret bonfire in sens fortress. I didn't know that was there for a long time
Its a sneaky one that's for sure! "oh just jump off this edge, you'll be fine"
I didn't even know there was a fortress 😅
Dude #11 at 4:57. I have beaten this game probably 1000 times and that is no exaggeration and I have never found that bonfire. Nice find.
I feel you on that one, I completely missed both this and the Vamos bonfire on my first run, making the catacombs a horrible task!
12 years and almost 1000 hours between many versions... this is the first time I see #11
Id got a good 300 hours in before i discovered #11 myself!
I didn't find this until NG plus.
13 was the only one I probably didnt know, it impressed me lol cant even remember when was the last time I saw a chest in this game and was excited about what it has
Glad it gave you a nice lil surprise!
Can't believe I've never known about Gwendolyn
To be fair, it is hidden pretty well! But on the plus side, ,now you have a new boss to fight! 😎
I sont know if you'll see this bro but slaying the giant princess in her chamber turns Anor Londo "dark" amd opens a whole secret story kind of. That story also includes the Gwendolyn fight at the end

I knew all of these, but I play *a lot* of dark souls.
I noticed that you say "Illusionary" instead of "Illusory" and I'm glad I wasnt the only one that did this for ages!!!
I still maintain to this day that yes, the term is "illusory" however.....
"Illusionary" and "illusory" both mean the same thing, and can be interchanged, and i will happily die on this hill.....mainly because im old and cant retrain my brain to say "illusory" but none the less, its not wrong!
Glad to have found a fellow "Illusionaryier"
@@libralonix it just makes more sense to me.
It's an illusion, not an illuse!
EXACTLY!!!
Oh damn, i feel your pain, i hate the wheel skellies! I cant imagine the horro of being stuck in that spot! GGs for powering through and escaping thpughA
I had a similar catacomb issue on my first playthrough, i completely missed the bonfire behind the illusory wall and the Blacksmith bonfire , and as I kept dying A LOT the runback from rhe first bonfire by the mechanism was such a pain in the backside!
To this day I still hate catacombs in all the games!
@@libralonix yeah but that feeling when you make it out the other side is why we play these torturous games. No other games do it better 🙏🏽
@leighsimmons2663 oh 100% agree!
You were still a lucky guy having that bonfire since that one doesn't even exist in the "prepare to die"-Edition of the game.
@@Kreativdenker haha didn’t feel lucky at the time
I've played this game a dozen times and at this point, know all the illusory walls, but I honestly forgot about the New Londo illusory wall.
That's fair enough, well at least i managed to refresh your mind on one of them, i'll take that as a win!
wow! In my first darks souls run ever I've discovered 11 of these 15!! nice video dude
Lets gooooo! Thats awesome, nicely done! Out of curiosity, whats your overall thoughts on DS1 after the first playthrough?
Wow im so glad to say i knew about all of these. Granted i did NOT find them all on my own. Just reading through forums and people mentionin it.
Now the giant you can kill in sens fortress (you can kill them all) that opens the door i found on accident during a playthrough on my switch. Never knew about it until about 2 years ago. Never seen a video on it either. Felt like i had discovered a great secret lol, t'wasn't
Every secret is a great secret!

Thank you so much for the kind words, and thank you for the sub, i appreciate the support! 😎
Sad part for me someone helped me find sif was a heart warming moment saveing that puppy from the abyss
Sifs whole lore is just an emotional roller coaster!
I found them all and interestingly also remember them all, even though it is years since I played Dark Souls.
Finding Ash Lake, was one of my favorite atmospheric gaming moments.
There are also more secrets on the way there.
Oh wow! I actually didn't know about 2 of those which really surprised me. Good job :)
Always glad to hear when someone gets a little surprise! Appreciate you taking the time to give it a blast!
that catacombs hidden bonfire beside patches would have been very useful in the 6 playthroughs that i have done..

More than happy to help, let me know how you get on!
Enjoy the playthrough, and thanks for watching! 😎
Actually didn't know about some of those secrets very helpful
I'm glad you found something new 😎
That's epic I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
I won't lie I was a little dissapointed in ash lake, I missed it onmg first run all those years ago, but when I replayed the game I found out I'd missed a section, I went back to it, and with the great hollow and Ash Lake just felt a tad pointless and empty.
Considering how long this game has been out, all these “secrets” have been known for quite sometime now. But good job on the video.
Thanks for watching i appreciate the support! 😎
Didn't know about the Silver Pendant or Red Titanite Chunk, great wee video
Appreciate it, thanks for watching 😎
Great video , after many playthroughs , I keep coming back to DS 1 , looking for more secrets .
I found all of these on my first blind playthrough, but according to this video I guess I actually missed all of them
Fair play on finding them all on the first run, nicely done 😎
No way you just accidentally get to ash lake... Xd
In ash lake there usually is messages if you are online so there is that. I found also almost all of them. Only thing i googled was how to get to DLC since it is kinda weird you have to go that spot like 2-3 times to portal to appear
ahhh memories... i remembered them all. and then some. thanks for the memories.
Always love giving people a trip down memory lane!
theres also a way to get out of your cell, if you wait long enough a guy will throw down a corpse and youll be able to get out...
Ooooo nice tip, i'll make sure to add it to the next video! 😎👌
No, I knew all of these. Being an autistic completionist is exhausting usually, but extraordinarily rewarding in Souls games.
What's your favourite Soulsborne game?
@@libralonix Bloodborne, hands down.
I absolutely love the combat and aesthetics of bloodborne, but for me the bosses just aren't that memorable compared to other FS games
I just started this game 2 months ago and omg I had no idea there's this many secret places and that's what the ring is i had no idea.

That's awesome, it sounds like you've had a very thorough first playthrough, I really hope you enjoyed the run! Was this your first time on a soulslike?
@@libralonix only 20 bucks on steam so I jump on it and try my first soul like.

Funny thing is that in most cases you don't find any super unique item in those secret areas but just some ordinary items or accessory.
It's the wonder and sense of discovery that makes it all worth while 🫡

You channelled your inner Miyazaki and won.......well done young grasshopper!
@@libralonix I was actually kinda surprised by how the illusory walls were easy to find on ds1, normally is in a "obvious" place, or there's some kind of hint, like in the fire place one, there's a window where you can see through the passage. Ha, I don't think I found any of them so far. I love this game, only just started playing before Christmas. My god I suck at it haha.
Well full disclosure, the video (and some of my others) are full of spoilers for these areas, so watch at your own peril! And dont worry about being rubbish, everyone is to start off. My first playthrough was diabolical! Really glad your enjoying that game!
There's 2 or 3 I missed on my initial playthrough of ds1. The ladder in sens fortress goin to the rooftop that allows you to fight the giant that opens the gate, I found completely by accident. I told a friend of mine about it and he was shocked as he didn't think that giant could be killed

@@libralonix short story I played DS1. Someone invade me . Left me 100k soul's got to O&S couldn't get past them . Never went back🤦
@Conpauleonina I can completely appreciate that, my first playthrough of the souls games was when the servers were down, so I'm not a huge fan of the Invasion mechanic.

Yeh #11 seems to be the one most don't know about!
It is pretty devious how they placed the way to Great Hollow and Ash Lake like wtf. I found it years ago on reddit of all places.
I completely missed it on my first playthrough, with the poison swamp limiting how much I explored I didn't even venture to the outskirts of blightown. I will say it was abit of a let down when I did eventually explore it on my 2nd run, the area (especially Ash lake) just felt so empty
The bonfire by Vamos is not thee in the original version. Also, if you rest there before you have set the Lord Vessel you will not be able to warp out and will need to fight your way back to the Firelink Shrine. Good luck ! Thanks for the video. Was cool to revisit an old game.
This is true, but you could say that about any area before you have access to warping. I like to unlock the bonfire on my way to pinwheel
