Considering how she managed to outdo taeyeon and IU in 2019 i believe she would've been easily one of the biggest names in kpop and not just a soloist. She's a literal ace. I hope there's a real good label out there looking for her and give her the career she deserves.
Yea, she's still got potential despite how far into her career. She's not even releasing music because it's her job, she's actually still being pretty creative with each new era and showing more new sides to her.
@@soonsuicidal Well Chungha was the most streamed female solo act on spotify that year, she won all best female artist awards and bonsangs of 2019. She became the first female solo to get a song certified platinum on Gaon. Had a total 13 music show wins in 2019, the most for a female solo in a year btw. Also, it's not just ranking digital points because IU is a digital monster, it's more about who made more impact that year. And every idol and korean gp knew the lyrics and choreo to gotta go that year, and they still do.
Yea, idk what the reaction was for Korean viewers but it was a whole different concept that now thinking about it suits Chungha so much. Idk if this would be a good comparison but you should list to Nuh Uh by Chungha. I wanna say that's like the child or nephew of Stay Tonight.
I'm responsible for at least a million of the choreo video views - idk how royalties work in Korea but I'm hoping since it's on her own channel it counts as a perfomace and she gets some more money for it than the song alone
It should have been promoted as a pre release and then dream of you as an English title track and PLay as a title track with 10 of the songs. With full promos she could have done much better. Really sad that BVNDIT was disbanded too, I think the losses from BVNDIT really killed MNH
Yea, I do wonder what would have happened if Chungha just split Querencia into four seperate comebacks and with four mini albums because firstly; way better promotional stages, and also with each comeback there was a different style of dancing but concept so once again; exploring artistically without risking such a big release with only one song getting that relatively proper promotion.
It's insane that a woman this talented was so mismanaged. I hope she goes to a new agency that will treat her better. She should be way more prolific than she is. Truly a waste of a unique talent.
Yea, despite her influence and legacy she has made for herself, I defs think promotions need to continue like she's still upcoming because being a soloist really is harder than being in a group. It really is just picking a good agency though. Got any ideas of who though?
@@cloudchungxiao Yeah, being a soloist is extremely hard to pull off. Who else really is successful? IU, but she writes her own songs. Tayeon, but she had the fandom of GG/SNSD and was able to continue with that fan-base. @Kent Vesse suggested HYBE and I would agree that ADOR (who has NewJeans) would be most likely. I think JYPE would treat her much better and provide the ability to promote her both in Korean/English, however as he also pointed out in his comment that JYPE like SM tend to stay in-house. Sunmi is at Abyss, Somi at Black Label. Neither are big companies, but at least they know how to promote solo artists. (Black Label is a sub-unit of YG).
Black Label know how to promote artist?? What example do you have that because all I hear is about the dungeon that their artist is in. But yea, Abyss was another idea or even Big Planet Made which is Viviz's home. High Up Ent would be cute. Idk about HYBE because I don't think i hear mucha bout them signing with people as they tend to train to debut instead. But yea, that's like good connection to gain more fame like how Fromis 9 really popped off after the switch. As for JYPE, I can't imagine them with soloist and plus they really specialise in girl groups especially. But yea, another company that is easy free attention
@@cloudchungxiao You know more than I so will defer to you on this. And, alas, it seems Black Label isn't doing much with Somi anymore either, so I'll retract that recommendation. In any event I think we are all agreed that she is way too talented to not find a good home. Yes, she has great visuals and dance, but her vocals are as good as anyone in the game and what really makes her stand out IMHO.
Omg yea, I mean during IOI, they had Yeonjung and Sejeong so she wasn’t utilised like that. But her OST of I love you, I remember you was absolute legendaric. Plus she’s given her voice to so many OST. Defs should get recognised for her singing but her dance is really stellar too. But yea, she does want to eventually do an album release where there isn’t much dancing. Like she wants to get to a point where she gets recognised for her voice.
Potentially though. I was just thinking that she really doesn't follow too much of the trends so it'll kinda be a big risk with each comeback in that positive reception will fluctuate but yea her name would still be out there and she would be even more of an innovator and influence to the future generations
Wtf is wrong with MNH, girl carried this agency on her back for many years while being its main asset and making money and that's how she's been rewarded... Never been her biggest fan, but I genuinely feel like her potential was wasted so badly that it physically hurts 💀
Exactly, literally no one before her. She was the OG senior artist of MNH. Plus the fact that she can even be called a senior artist from a company size like MNH, that also says a lot too
A lot of small companies do that and I don’t know why. Like RBW- Mamamoo is literally the reason they have a big building and money now. They used to do their own makeup and choreo and mix their own songs, and rbw would have power outages often. Now they are big and ignore Mamamoo for most of the year with minimal promotions. Chungha deserves so much more and is so very talented, I really hope she gets a proper company when she leaves.
@@stephpies3 probably lack of experience in how to handle that situation which results in the company in trying to spread the fame they get from the first artist onto new fresh ones as Kpop is usually fairly short lived (groups more so than soloists, which is why chunghas case is even more tragic than MMM) but in that process due to a still somewhat numbered budget failing to properly allocate it and basically putting all their bets on the new uncertain card. I can see somewhat why it happens, doesn't mean it sucks any less. I think it would happen less if there was less of a pressure of having young idols only
I hope she signs with a label that will allow her to continue doing what she wants. She has always been pretty good at spotting the next big thing. Also, she is the reason MNH had anything and her and BVNDIT deserved better
Bvndit really did. Still remember the video of them being nominated against NUEST. Like they were actually building up pretty decent hype for themselves only for that comeback to be last before the long hiatus they were thrown in without even trying to do other promotional things. And yea, Chungha still has so much potential and so it's really finding the right company
i don't care where she'll sign next but i just need her to have creative freedom. chungha does it all, she writes her songs, directs them, choreographs with her dancer, records them over and over.... she's really artistic and knows what direction she wants to take as an artist
Ohh for sure, as long as the company can support her in doing this then she good. She's created such a legacy for herself where she can still make noise. But just not sure how strong it is considering the lack of promotions so its kinda hard to gage this.
I find it very interesting that last year mnh decided to disband bvndit and ignore Chungha completely, specially since Chungha said that there’s no one she recognizes in the company now. And this year they debuted 8turn. My guess is that since bg tend to have a big fanbase the new management decided to get rid of what they thought as the least profitable members to debut 8turn. This is so unfair, I was really happy when she released Sparkling last year since that song was reminiscent of roller coaster (my favorite from her), and after that…. Nothing…. She deserves so much more
Idk if it's because they're not in kpop, but the two soloist should have disappeared if we talking profitable and favorite. But yea, defs made so much space for a new boy group because they really didn't do much with Chungha. Plus yea, Sparkling had remnants of her summer fresh concept that she started off so that why it could have garnered more attention. But she's released some of her part 2 through performances elsewhere
All of this is incredibly frustrating to me as a big Chungha stan. She is, by far and wide, my favorite female soloist. Her music has resonated with me immensely, she is intensely talented and beautiful. There is a safe space with her and her music, and the crazy large amount of potential she had (and still has!) is so sad to watch fizzle out… I really hope she is taken care of somewhere other than MNH. Also I think it’s so funny that people see 2021 as her decline when she literally released my favorite music from her in that year (other than Gotta Go) 💀 like Bicycle, Killing Me, and a lot of those bsides GO HARD
Actually though. 2019 was her peak in popularity, but 2020/2021 was her peak so far musically. There was so much good releases within Querencia. Glad she's only got one month left with MNH plus with her appearance in Mexico in August; I'm wondering is this her doing her own things as a free agent or has she already got some thing lined up and she's already prepared with a new agency??
Her situation makes me think of the time when CL renewed her contract as a solo and SILENCE, she was putting in a cage like a bird by YG, not releasing any solo songs from her to the point that she leaked « ALL IN » by herself, until she decided to not renew her contract but it clearly damaged the hype she had at the time. We sometimes forget that for the majority of these companies, it’s only about money and some of them can’t deal with the fact that you can make money without them anymore, especially if their ego is involved and they consider that « they made YOU » as an artist.
Yea, CL was majorly screwed by YG. And what's worse is the power dynamic. Like literal ego things because small things can make people do the most pettiest things. Like think about how legenderic 2NE1 was and then CL was getting so buzzed with attention BUT you didn't want to capitalize off this attention and instead did a pretty poor job because of what?
I'm only a casual stan of Chung-ha, but I love all her title tracks. As an a-ing (Hyuna fan) I feel your pain. She's been so mismanaged on all fronts, I just hope that if she wants to join another company, she can find one that can give her what she needs to thrive.
Omg, I can also feel your pain too because I literally did a video on P-Nation and their artist so I've heard about her case a bit. But yea, it's a real shame and literally what you said. Hopefully they find the proper company that'll support them in the way they want to thrive
Chungha is very passionate about what she does so I hope that she will get another career opportunity after she leaves mnh. She is too talented to not do what she loves.
Yea, that's that scary thing. I'm pretty biased with her because she's my ult. But I do wonder how the korean public perceive her in relation to money-making and sales as of 2023. Like I think she's legendary and will do well with the right company, but there is a slight chance that she could be seen as a one-year wonder in 2019 that not as much people might sought after her. But also, she's had such a good image this whole time that its like you can guarantee a pretty decent artist who is basically controversy free.
Kind of hope that she may land with one of HYBE's companies. She has great potential with proper financial and marketing support to become a popular artist in the west and not just East Asia. Though one may say part of her doom was Querencia was a little too western in its music and with the lack of the ability to promote in the US or Europe during Covid, it started this death spiral of a small company taking on an overly ambitious project that was highly dependent on promoting in the Americas and Europe. I don't think SM, YG, or JYP will be interested as they tend to stay in house with their own trainees. Perhaps Starship might pick her up as they don't currently have any female soloists on their roster, but have had some in the past such as Hyolyn and Soyou that had been successful. I just hope she doesn't end up at some small company with similar management and financial problems as so many such companies are out there and so many soloists have to go to them because the bigger companies aren't very interested in female soloists.
Don't worry since chungha is somewhat very popular companies will defo line up to get her under them nd not all small companies are bad tho there are some small companies tht are able to finance their artist besides she's a soloist their company sabotaged them there's no way ur financially unable take care for a soloist but can end up debuting a whole 8 or 9 member grp out of nowhere
She sings in English perfectly as well as Korean. I wonder if Black Label where Somi is would know how best to promote her, though JYPE would be great as they have a huge marketing/promotion team and tend to treat their artists better than most labels. Alas it's extremely hard to make it as a soloist as you know.
@@hefeibao My concern with Black Label/YG is they already have a bad track record of having artists sit idle for long periods, which Chungha cannot afford to do if she has hopes of getting back to where she was. She needs to sign with a new agency and get a fresh EP out within three months of the announcement, and then likely comeback in another 3 to 6 months with another EP or album, so she can get some momentum back. She also needs to get on tour even if it is just club dates in the US and Europe. Somi has been idle for nearly a year and a half and there is still no word on when she may have new music coming out. In the four years she has been with Black Label she has only released a total of 5 songs. That just isn't acceptable label support. It's really sad that Black Label apparently damn near begged Somi to join them, but has done so little with her since then. Either that shows that Teddy has bit off more than he can chew running that label and in proper YG fashion refuses to delegate or bring in outside help, or Somi is difficult to work with. I am hoping it is the former rather than the latter. At least in Somi's case, she is young enough that if Black Label was a bad career move, she can wait on that contract and be a free agent again before she is in her mid-20's. However, IOI is getting further in the rearview mirror and if she continues to languish at Black Label she might struggle to find a good company. When Somi signed with Black Label there was a lot of excitement around that label, but time has show it has the very same problems as its parent, YG. It's a shame how this industry works sometimes and how many talented artists end up having a promising career ruined or heavily damaged. Ailee's situation looks a lot like Chungha's and Ailee has never recovered from those last couple disastrous years at her original label where they basically put her in the dungeon. She's an afterthought now unless you were into K-pop when she was at her peak.
@@kentvesser9484 You are 100% spot on with your assessment. While I can dream that both Somi & Chungha both find decent labels, history has been very unkind to solo artists. Tayeon stated with GG and still has SM behind her and IU writes her own songs and is a bit of a Korean Taylor Swift. Then there is everyone else. IIRC someone did an analysis that even in groups, larger groups tend to do better than smaller groups because there is a great chance of someone appealing to someone. I would think that's why soloists have an even harder time. Her best bet honestly is to be an anchor of a group. I say this as if you look at Mamamoo and even Red Velvet, the artists have the freedom to do solo tracks or mini-albums but then still come together as a group to sell volume. (thought: If you step back that is the same formula Marvel has with the MCU). TL/DR: she is on a clock and the longer she goes without releasing material the less likely to come back.
Yea, her next company just need to give her proper promotions that can help continue to elevate her. Chungha's got a bit of recognition with her name so that's a great start but it's about the regular interaction with the community to solidify more of a fanbase. I think a small company could do her well as long as they can make the investment into Chungha's career but obviously there is that risk of like not being financially stable enough to help. But yea, it really depends on where she foes and how fast they can act before her hype gets completely lost.
She's by faaar the most versatile and talented solist of these last few years. All her comebacks were incredible and she kept on getting better. Her disappearence makes no sense
Exactly; I mean idk the logistics and profitability of her; but she's been the money maker so it makes no sense to get keep her in such a hiatus if you dont want to make a profit.
MNH never let her perform other songs from her discography in festivals and events just the same bunch of songs. Chungha is not just any idol but am actual artist, her music discography is immaculate, she can be so big if she's properly marketed and given the artistic freedom, i really want the best for her :(
Honestly though. Like I can kinda get MNH in that if you want a hyped crowd, you play your most popular songs so you get easy clout. However, how are you gonna market the other songs and get them some love to if all you do is constantly replay the same songs. It's kinda like if Brave Girls were only booked to play Rollin and that's it. Like that's just giving milking one-hit wonder of you discography when you can promote other stellar b-sides. And Also, I can soo agree to that. Not based on defintion, but what I think of like idols and artist is that artist are pretty into the music and like actually perform. Idols are along the lines of influencer kinda there to do their jobs and so that's one thing I hope we can see from Chungha. Closer to the end of her MNH era, I feel like that's when she was able to actually evolve and become an artist with Bare and Rare pt 1 and Querencia.
@@cloudchungxiao @cloudchungxiao EXACTLY ! they be milking same songs to the point it makes her look like a one hit wonder when she easily can not be that, you said everything! lets hope for the best
Yea, if you have the confidence to approve songs in an album then surely theres confidence that they would maybe be able to perform it too. For Chungha's case, Chica, Flying on Faith, any of the pre-releases from Querencia's or even from the latest album to atleast get proper promotion. Like there's such a long list of potential songs that she could easily perform and get the crowd hype. People really feel the vibes of the performance and so even if the song might not be as well known, her stage presence just has the power to make people curious
This. I saw her at Head in the Clouds and you could tell that her team DID NOT prepare a set list appropriate for that festival, let alone make a custom mix or do something creative. She was also noticeably discontent. You could tell she wasn't confident in her set. They literally just picked the top safest songs and it was boring tbh. I fully expected her to open with XXXX but the only song they played from Bare and Rare was Sparkling... Like you said, she has a discography large enough to fit whatever space she's performing in and MNH didn't take any care in her performance to ~30,000 people
@@jameshartman5114 I saw her at MIK in London in summer 2022 and I think you could tell the team she was with was very small and in her immediate circle, ie. no major MNH people there/organising it. She did a more diverse setlist, seemed a lot happier, and spoke quite freely about the company being lame (lmao), and performed a bare & rare pt2 song - if memory serves, she even dragged them over the release date/postponement thing. She also seemed SO SHOCKED that people knew her and her music, including the b-sides, even though plenty of people were there literally just for her. Hoping that was a really good experience for her and 1) she comes back to Europe on a tour and 2) keeps the confidence she got from it, especially from being there on her own with less MNH interference. I think it shows MNH don't have a clue, but she, and the people in her corner, really do know what they're doing. Fingers crossed we see some direction once she escapes.
I'm still sad that BVNDIT disbanded. They had so much potential and never got a chance to really shine. A 2 year gap between releases is crazy for a small ish girl group from a small company. i loved that they all had deep voices (apart from Simyeon). Chungha deserves better too.
Omg yea, Songhee starting Jungle though. But yea, that was so BM of them to treat them like that. Like I get the pandemic and all that but you could have informed fans or like even keep them maintaining their socials to give us some activity. Didn't have to be a high production but just a way to keep the crowd supporting them. There music was so good too and so it's so sad to see them end like this.
The fact that she still did good despite the incompetence of her agency, it's a proof that she is a successful solo artist. Hyuna and Chungha, two faces of the same coin, the money they made help to build their agencies to later be treated in a poor way. It' just sad.
I mean it really do be hard for soloist though. No matter the influence, they kinda just aint doing numbers like the average group which is a big thing of consideration for companies which sucks.
I remember seeing her live in LA and she was amazing. She even performed an unreleased song. She's such a queen, hopefully she finds a company that appreciates her worth.
It’s unbelievable that she is potentially one of the most talented female idols of all time, yet her promotions are so bad. I’m happy she might get a new agency that treats her better, BUT I worry that the iconic feel of her music may be lost and also WHAT IF SHE GETS A NEW STYLIST?!
Yea, I do wonder about her "team." Don't know how much of a gage this is but the only "kpop" in MNH would be 8turn and their debut album received no help from any of Chungha's usual producers and lyricist. Plus depending on connections and all that, Chungha's influence might be stronger that they could be still keen to work with her as long as she can get settled in a company.
I went to the KAMP 2022 in LA to primarily see what I feared (correctly) would be one of the last chances to see Momoland perform. Chunga was on the ticket and I honestly didn't know who she was. Obviously she's lovely but her entire performance blew me away! Despite not knowing any songs, her dance, voice and even her English were very impressive. She earned a new fan that evening. I wish her the best on her career and look forward to the next comeback.
Oooo momoland fan. Question; did you like Yummy Yummy Love? I really did but like it went real quiet in that idk if there was much promotion to it. But yea, her ability to captivate a crowd though. Like how has she not had a full solo concert for herself. She has a crap ton of songs and also many collabs so it could be a whole collab fest too. Like the amount of opportunities.
Well, obviously her English is very good considering she lived in Texas for 8 years before her K-POP days... (I will never get over the fact her English name is Annie Kim. She does NOT feel like an Annie).
I've been into kpop since 2011, and Chungha is far and away one of my favorite kpop artists of all time. She and Taeyeon held my crumbling psyche together into something that still resembled a human brain from 2019 to 2021. I've been wondering where she's been since her last release, since i don't really keep up with behind the scenes or personal life things in kpop anymore, but man...i didn't anticipate this. I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore by the depths of incompetence that kpop management can reach, especially with female idols, but this is still appalling to me. She built that company from the ground up, and this is how they treat her? They're going to be in for a rude awakening when she leaves and creates her success somewhere else, because I truly think she was the only artist remotely keeping ANY general public eyes on mnh. I can't wait for her escape and what she'll create, she's truly a one in a million star!
Ohh yea for sure. I mean it's too early to make a call about 8turn which will be there only money maker and potentially Matthew Seok depending on how he does in Boys Planet, but they really losing a gem because of there incompetence.
I love how Byulharangs understand her situation and always supports her. Thank you for making this detailed video. I really appreciate everyone who is raising their voice for her. I wish her all the success and happiness ❤
Yea, honestly though. This video has popped off a lot considering how lowkey small I am so if we can also have that same energy for when she makes her next comeback, it'll kinda be like a fun way to show her the strong support she will still have.
@@cloudchungxiao Sure, I have a small team in Pakistan. I and my friends share her content and promote her on a small scale whenever we get a chance👏🏻🍷
Saw her on MIK Festival in Paris in February and she also talk about her condition and it really showed that this saddened her... Really praying that she is free soon !
Reading this; im a little confused. She's got her schedule but also shes gone from MNH at the end of April CONFIRMED. Sooooo, she already signed with a new agency??
I hope she pulls a Kang Daniel and starts her own company. She has the love and admiration of the fans and staff that have been with her. She should be promoted like the superstar that she is.
Yea, I mean Kang Daniel is pretty crazy in popularity. Despite like me not following him, I know he has a strong fanbase that comes together for anything he does. Chungha has kinda that but not to the extent of Kang Daniel so I would be kinda scared she could fall into a Hyolyn situation where starting her own company might be too much and then she just wont be able to release as frequently.
Omg yea, I did have an idea of a short to make of Chungha has kinda done to influence the kpop industry because she's done a lot in her career span. She really deviates from making music for the trends and really just does her thing
Actually though. When you think of artistic creativity and not for the clout and popularity; she's really up there with all her new ideas and ways to express herself without just following trends
At the beginning of her career I felt so grateful for the company because they seemed to treat her right. Like they kept the constant releases and the quality till 2019. After that they forgot about her :(. Before it was so easy to see her in tv shows and contents, like since her solo debut i have been her fan but I didn’t always followed what she was doing still it wasn’t hard to see her in different contents but after 2020 I even forgot about her because I didn’t see her much in shows and stuff :(
Ohh yea; I was suprised how much they were providing Chungha despite being unknown. The pandemic did play an impact on the little appearances; but MNH did definitely do not much to mitigate and work around this as much. They pumped out pre-releases but it kinda does not do much if you can't back it up with proper promo. She's got a few weeks left in MNH though so hopefully onto new beginnings
as a long time byulharang, her situation really saddens me. she was doing so well until 2020 which honestly should’ve been another year where she killed the charts with her releases, stay tonight was gorgeous, play was a nice change from her summer tracks and would be phenomenal for festival performances, dream of you was a great western track which should’ve been pushed more. querencia was a PHENOMENAL album yet MNH just failed it, and failed chungha. i really hope she signs with a better company, i’ve seen ppl say one of the HYBE labels and honestly i agree (in spite of their “hostile takeover”) they’d do great at promoting her. her stylists are most likely subcontractors or 3rd party entities of some kind so i hope they will continue to work with chungha. praying for a tour this year or next year, her skills and songs deserve to be on display in many cities and international fans want to see her so badly, hopefully these next few years will be much more prosperous for her, she still has so much she hasn’t shown…
Yea, Querencia as an album is pretty up there in best albums for me but it did get a bad rep for its weird promotion tactics and the "controversial" title track of bicycle. Been seeing HYBE's name being thrown around for Chungha but the only way I can see that happening is if HYBE acquires the company she joins because yea I have yet to see HYBE properly sign an established artist. But yea, she could start to generate more hype slowly if she did tours which hopefully wherever she goes, that's one of those first few things they will try to accomplish within the first few years.
Actually though. the lead up was pretty bad. They were putting in so little effort with trying to get the album more attention. Luckily she had a normal music show promotion with Sparkling but just in general, it felt like crickets during the gap between Querencia and Bare and Rare. I feel she had lowkey way more overseas promotions than domestic promotions which is wild because even her overseas ones were pretty limited
Chungha was certainly on a good trajectory but I feel like her album release was really screwed up. I feel like MNH was cutting budget in terms of promotion as well. Given that her earlier songs are absolute bangers, I don't think she'll be forgotten and will be able to reclaim her throne if she comes back with a solid comeback.
Ohh yea, definitely not the end of the road for her. Potentially pull a 2019 with back to back solid comebacks for the general public and she could once again claim that throne. But yea, MNH was trying to cut corners in investing into her first full album and it stated getting really noticeable
Omg yea, at first it was kinda weird to me. Like I was getting it but not really but I just heard it a few months ago and Killing Me kinda clicked for me. It was a special single so once again, they really didn't promote this song. But YESSS, what's your fav bare and rare song?
Some companies seriously don’t know what they’re doing. How do you lose one of the best 4th gen girl groups and arguably the best 3rd gen female soloist? Looks like the I.O.I curse strikes again. That group really must’ve been cursed because not only has Chung Ha’s career been poorly mismanaged, but both Somi and Weki Meki have been on hiatus for over a year 😔
Omg pls no hahaha, she's still got time to hopefully recover and bounce back with her next moves. But yea, Bvndit was progressively doing well that it literally was so weird for them to just throw them into a hiatus. Plus Chungha too. Like they were doing the most without doing the most. Like, it's great she had so many releases but you also gotta promote them too. It aint any good just existing without much attention if MNH is trying to recoup back money. But omg yea, ngl as of now, I think the only person to come unscathed from IOI curse might just be Yeonjung in terms of a musical career. WJSN looks hopefuly with their renewal but we'll see how they are treated considering what felt like an abandonment from Starship leading towards the contract renewal statement. Plus they got IVE too so how much attention will really go towards them compared to maybe solo activities for the members. But yea, BIG feels bad for Somi and Weki Meki
@@cloudchungxiao I’m def glad that most of WJSN renewed and the company stated that the other Korean members are still considered a part of the group. I would’ve been surprised if the group had disbanded. But I think they’ll focus on solo endeavors while Starship focuses on IVE. And Chung Ha absolutely has what it takes to rebuild her career! Personally, I really liked “Bicycle” (it was one of my most listened to songs of 2021 lol) and “Killing Me” (I wish it had been promoted properly. So, give her a good producer and an actual promo team and she’ll be good to go! It sucks though that Bvndit is gone. They had so much promise. I’m wishing 8Turn all the luck in the world given their company’s history 🙏
Yea, just did a slight section on Cosmic girls for my queendom two video. Not sure if they'll get as much promo but we'll see how it goes for the next year and a bit. I wanna see whether they'll get promo whether gorup or solo because that might indicate whether they renewed to try stay together or whether they actually got faith in starship despite IVE's success. OMG yea, plus with the proper announcement of CHUNGHA's DEPARTURE. It's not too long before we see her free to find a company that better aligns with her goals
I was at the recent Paris Mik festival and she played us 2 unreleased songs (freaking bops too!) that should have been out by now if MNH did their job, this situation is so frustrating just let her free istg 😔 Even at the early stage of her career I always thought to myself that she really could be that iconic "queen B" of Korea, she just has it all talentwise? This waste of talent by poor management breaks my heart
Yea, I mean I can't be too sure but I feel like MNH is being petty af by making her wait til her complete contract time is done before she can leave. They wanna sabotage her in a way where if they can't have her, they wanna ruin her so no one else can really profit off her. Like, if you really aren't gonna promote them, and they've already made you money, what's the point of keeping them if you know you got nothing left with them.
I wish kpop would adopt the release schedule as old American pop would do. Pre-release single like the week before the album drop, then album drop and more singles from that album (though these were almost always full albums).
That would be an interesting concept tbh. But also that would kinda require companies to put in verys similar efforts to the B-Sides which some kpop artists should be alg with. But yea, it's very the droplet era right now where unless you're established, it looks better if you only dropped mini albums or even single albums which Aespa and IVE have been doing when they debuted.
I'm honestly not really into kpop in general. I only ever really cared about Girls' Generation, they were the first group I found back in their Oh/Hoot era. but Chungha is the one exception. XXXX and Crazy Like You from her recent album are some of the best kpop songs I've ever heard in my history of listening. Her whole discography is amazing.
Omg actually though. One thing that is so amazing about Chungha is that she's so versatile and literally is willing to do something that's different. Querencia is an example of just trying out different concepts with still pretty decent cohesion. But yea, for her most recent album. Nuh Uh and XXXX is literally so good. Plus the way it starts off with glass breaking because the last era was Querencia and the album cover was cracked glass. So she starts with the sound of the glass officially breaking to signal the start of a new era, like geniusness.
It is true that mismanagement of mnh seen at mismanage at Bvndit and now Chungha and focus group 8turn a rookie group.if didn't because of Chungha company never recognized
Yea, the question is do you think much would change if they only had Chungha this whole time? I do wonder that considering that means all the attention would go towards her and so maybe better?? Because they can kinda risk a bit. But then if they did then also we wouldn’t have gotten Bvndits music and 8turn too which all are pretty good
She always puts in %100 and she was mega popular. They had to go out of their way to make her fail. Glad she’s been speaking up. She has such a passion for her craft 😢
Ohh yea, she really did starting developing her own craft later on in her career but it can truly be seen. That's also kinda one of those big risk though in that artistic freedom is subjective and can be very hit or miss.
This whole situation makes me so sad! MNH is not only sabotaging her but themselves! She is the reason their lights are on!! She is so talented and loves her fans and what she does. Its so disheartening seeing her go through this. Not to mention her signing with 88rising which tbh did nothing for her. She was only at ONE of their festivals when artists not even signed with them were there! She has so much potential to not only be popular in Asia but the West bc of her knowledge of the culture and her music! I just really hope she ends up in a company that knows and understands her worth :/
Yea, I'm not sure about the 88rising thing. It could also be a MNH thing in which they're not really allowing her to perform on the 88rising stages too. But yea, I do wonder what MNH think is there plans after Chungha though. Like I get they still have active artist but that's such a risk for how relatively new or unknown most of them are.
This straight up reminds me of the situation with HYBE and Source Music and how they handled GFRIEND. These companies are so selfish and don’t give a damn about heir idols. Here’s to hoping these idols get revenge by success
Omg, yea what did happen with GFRIEND though??? Like they were still popping off and then a random announcement of disbandment. Idk if they were sabotaged because they were still doing well so can't tell if that was a BUDDY movement or whether Source Music was helping promote them.
about debuting the new boy group: companies go into hella debt to debut new groups, especially small companies (just like how KQ entertainment JUST got out of their debt from debuting Ateez). So it might just be that mnh wasnt making enough money off of chungha/wanted to increase their income and by playing into the fact that there havent been that many fresh boy group debuts in the last years. So i guess it isnt that different from what you mentioned of them having money but not spending it on chungha, but i think its not a priority issue i think its that mnh sees a more likely and longer lasting source of money in 8turn than chungha in the current market.
Yea, I mean small companies are more likely to go in debt if they wanna debut groups. Another thing that Chungha did was that her activites allowed MNH to upgrade their building too. But yea, it's the idea that the profit gained from Chungha's activities has meant MNH now makes money and so instead of reinvesting in Chungha, it's going to other people like now 8turn. In terms of the current market, I mean it's been dominated by female monster rookie groups so not sure whether you mean theres's an opportunity for boy groups since they're all kinda not making as much noise. But regardless, there was pretty average noise coming from their debut so I guess we'll just see whether MNH's new investment will takeoff because that will now be there money-maker
Yea, not sure how that works. Block B made there own company in 2013 but became a sub label for KQ in 2016 when KQ were also formed. Plus not sure about Block B as a group so don't know if they were making waves during the whole 2016 onwards era to be making bank or nah
It’s wild how she fell off so badly. I got into kpop in 2019 and she was everywhere. Also the whole querencia roll out went bad indeed, bc I had no idea that dream of you was a pre release single. It’s sad, but I hope she can rebuild her momentum
Yea, really enjoying that she gets to take a break. She's still getting booked so that's absolute vibes but yea. Sounds like the minute she signs with a company, she'll be able to release Bare and Rare part 2 from what I've seen
Something I've noticed with small companies is that they tend to have a difficult time managing a group/artist after a viral hit. Momoland and MLD is a good example of this, or Brave Girls and BE.
Kind of honestly. Brave Ent I can see. Not sure about MLD ent though since they debuted many groups after. MLD just seemed very messy though and kept making so much mistakes
She's back though. Signed with Morevision, doing a radio show, performing more on domestic festivals and so there's more hope for her future. I can see her building herself back up. But yea, her impact can't be denied despite maybe not having that big of a fanbase.
First Bvndit, and now Chungha. They're both really strong talent it's such a shame mnh treat them poorly. I really hope this is not the end for Chungha, she seems to have a good recognition worldwide hope she ended up with a much better agency / label nad keeps on performing amazingly
Ohhh definitely not. She will be able to score another agency to help her but hopefully it's a better one where they can just properly understand each other well.
Update 2024: Chungha 😭 has returned with “I’m Ready!” and soon “Eenie Meenie” will drop! She has new social media and management! The fandom name changed to HAART. MNH 👎!
Yea, I mean SM really is creative with their music so I could see that. But SM really is a trainee based company and dont really sign established artist much. Plus with what has been going on, they are doing a lot of changes which idk if Chungha would want to be a guinea pig for what they do.
i've never understood what the thought process behind the release of querencia was and why mnh would sabotage their biggest artist like that. she was THE breadwinner in the company and they did her so horribly. if i remember correctly, she contracted covid right when the album was supposed to drop so they dropped x while she recovered, then had her promote bycicle in February. i can understand the delay there, in fact, i was a little worried that she was performing on stage so soon after being sick considering there weren't even vaccines available when she contracted it, but what i never understood was the limited promotion of the previous singles. stay tonight would've demolished with a proper music show promotion window of three weeks, play too of it had been given more time. i think even bycicle would've done better if she had been able to promote the other two properly beforehand. bycicle should've been promoted with demente like snapping and chica were. killing me should've been given a proper promotion cycle too. i remember people asking where had chungha gone when she was literally supposed to be promoting killing me, they didn't even know she had released a single. i think at that point she had been getting more promotion from sm and the collabs she had done with their artists than mnh themselves. i don't even wanna get into bvndit because they were completely abandoned after jungle. mnh completely shot themselves on the foot and now they're bleeding. but I'm glad bvndit and chungha are basically out.
I think it was planned in advance and so no one really anticipated the pandemic and thus they kinda mustered on despite all that crap that was going on because they committed to this ambitious project. But yea, considering how ambitious they were with all these MVs, they could have done a bit more in terms of proper promotions because they really could have continued to make noise for her right until her release but they just said yea nah. But yea, Bvndit can be a whole other discussion in itself but yea really unfortunate to see how far MNH has fallen
YESSSS, I'm pretty sure she'll know she has the support but we'll just have to show her that it was her that we were following and not MNH when she does what she does.
With Sunmi it s my favorite female solo artist in kpop ! Jessi too -Roller coaster -Gotta Go -Snapping -bicycle - Stay tonight - Dream of you are very good hits, songs
@@cloudchungxiao Sunmi ? 24 hours / pporappippam / Gashina / heroin /siren / you can’t sit with us / Noir 🔥 Jessi who dat B / ssenunni / drip / / nunu nana / type of X and Ganji 😄
I love how she was basically the IU of her company yet they learn nothing, such a waste of her talent, hard work, and all the hype that was build up during those years. No matter where she go I will always support her, she worked very hard to get where she's at and she deserve the world
She really was. Less than three weeks before she leaves MNH so thats good and she still got atleast one schedule within this year announced so that's great things too
At the end of the day Kpop fans are at fault because we do not support soloists like we do groups. And without the interest of fans, companies aren’t investing in those artists with albums or promotions. Most female soloists (not associated with successful girl groups) are struggling.
Yea, soloist don't get as much support as groups. Like I get the whole you have a better chance of finding someone you like in a group as oppose to having to potentially like a soloist but still, they still are so legit. Like the only soloist i can see that transcend this lack of support in soloist constantly would be IU and Taeyeon and those two literally had many years to build all that up
@@cloudchungxiao she is unstoppable, she is a universally creative and talented person who wants one thing - to be with her fans and create new music. I pray for her every day. As a big fan of hers, it hurts me to see her in this bad position for 3 years with her worst company
I think I really felt the lack of promotions when I saw the "killing me" mv on my youtube for you page by chance when it came out, at the time, I didn't even know that chungha was releasing a new song I wouldn't consider myself a chungha fan since I don't follow closely on her activities but I'm definitely more than a casual listener I really enjoy her songs and hope that she'll be able to continue her career under a better company
Ohh yea, Killing Me was a special single which not even sure what that means but it always had no intent to promote which sucks because why not capitalise from any remaining hype that was Querencia or just wait til they can promote. But yea, she makes MUSIC so defs hope to see her continue
Thanks for the video! I've been wondering what's been going on with her, and this video popped up in my feed. She's my favourite performer so wherever she goes, Byulharang will support her👌
Yea, MNH really sabotaging and staying silent on Chungha. It's so unfortunate but hopefully she can just leave ASAP and start fresh in a better environment.
there was also so much mess with the release of Querencia, like Chungha not having any creative input into the album artwork etc. i remember everyone's reaction when it dropped. the visuals were amazing but the graphics, font, album design itself were not liked and Chungha even said it herself. it was a nightmare
Ohh yea, ngl. The album cover lowkey was kinda a shock to me hahaha. Like I've learnt to appreciate it but defs doesn't scream the Chungha that I imagined. Plus the whole concept of Querencia, like idk if that really encapsulates in the album cover and all that. But yea, despite the music in Querencia being really good, the whole promotion for it was a mess.
@@cloudchungxiao yeah 100% agree! not at all what anyone expected tbh. tysm for making this video btw i haven't seen anyone bringing much awareness to chungha's mistreatment! hopefully we will get justice for our girl this year🥲
Ohh hell yea, I may have miscalculated things though. Not sure when her contract should be up now with the recent announcement of her participation at KAMP Mexico in August. Can't tell whether she signed in 2016 with IOI or 2017 as a soloist and which they will take as her "start"
Chungha is my favorite soloist within kpop (with Hyuna being another and Sunmi being close behind) and I cannot wait for her to leave this idiotic company. I really hope trainees stop going to this company…they deserve none of them. Chungha is absolutely phenomenal- she is a great dancer who actually choreographs her dances and is so good at freestyling, she has a very good vocals and is a captivating performer…her facial expressions are top tier 👌🏻👌🏻 not to mention that she is incredibly humble and sweet-natured in interviews. She is intelligent and isn’t afraid of pursuing different concepts. Her work is so varied and unique …from gotta go to dream of you to stay tonight to snapping…one hit after the next of pop music that is not bland or vapid. She is one of my ult favorite kpop idols and it is so sad what this company has tried to do to her career. I wish her all the success she deserves once she escapes mnh. I will be adding this company alongside cube on my list of despicable entertainment companies (btw please don’t make it a kpop thing…there are COUNTLESS corrupt companies within Hollywood mmmkeeerrrr 🙄). ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻💕💚🌟
Omg yea, someone made a comment about Matthew Seok. Not sure if you watch Boys Planet, but he's got so much popularity but he's also in MNH too. But yea, it's always the terrible companies where they have great artist or trainees. like even with Cube, I still support G-Idle despite what has happened so far with the mistreatment of basicall most of their artist. Plus I stan Chowon too so despite the terrible company that is Cube, I want to still lift up Chowon's career as much as I can
Bicycle wasn’t ChungHA best song but it was her best Comeback in my opinion. She killed that whole concept. Honestly I think the drastic change from that concept to sparkle ✨ is what through people off. Either way she’s still a legend cause she had more than 5 amazing songs. Probably 10+ to be honest.
Best comeback and MV probably but yea not may fav title track. As for sparkling, yea it wasn't what I woud have wanted but I really didn't mind it. It was her attempt to revist her rookie days when she was popping off with really summery songs. But yea, look into bare and rare which is the album for Sparkling and you can see some good potential title tracks songs. One that I can already see her generating buzz is Nuh Uh which she talked about an idea of doing a performance video with a hanbok stylistic choice which would have been buzz worthy considering the nationalistic pride that Koreans would have had. Plus it gives off Stay Tonight's cousin vibes so it could have been her redemption to being able to do actual promotions with a concept like that.
Hopefully, though. It really is 50/50 in whether her senior status is like legendaric and she will still thrive (Taeyeon) or like "you're old" vibes and people will only kinda just support her early days (Park Bom)
Nah, actually though. There's gotta be more to why MNH gave up on Bvndit. Like I get COVID, but to be in the top 2 ranking for a music show win and one of the more prestigious ones, like they were gaining so much recognition domestically. Even if it was just a comeback a year while MNH get back to where they were. But yea, also saw a thread about the mistreatment of Chungha and in one of her bubble messages, Chungha shared how she and the Bvndit members or with just Yiyeon had a meal together talking crap about MNH hahaha. Like it was that bad
Yea, they whole lead up took a while and was very unique compared to the normal promotion cycle for a title track. I feel like she was supposed to release it all within a year but something for sure happened plus then her covid diagnosis. It just was all really unfortunate
Yesss, my delusional self hopes that she catches wind of the amount of support she gets or atleast she can feel the same amount of positive energy in these comments.
I remember hogging my highschool individual bathroom just to dance to Gotta Go 🤣🤣 Chungha is the whole package. I can't believe they didn't treat their best card right.
I am very disappointed with how they handled her promotions for Querencia. The quality of each pre release track she released was crazy good. Stay Tonight, Dream of You, Play, Demente are all tracks better than many title tracks from other artists and deserved proper promotion. The album is also without saying one of the best kpop albums but didn’t get the deserved hype. The little attention her next track Killing me got was also disappointing, the song is just as good as her past viral works. I myself didn’t even know she released the song only much later. Chungha deserves much better
Actually though, luckily she's gonna be out of MNH by the end of the month. But yea, it's like a mixture of the pandemic impacts that messed up the promotions. But it feels like they really didn't even try to promote these pre-releases. Like if you were to give them videos; why not do the most with these pre-releases. Like even if we had less pre-releases to promote a certain few. That would have created way more attention than just doing what they did. But also suprisingly; awards shows really kidna neglected the quality of Querencia or the releases that we made that far. Like did we not see the same thing hahaha
I would love to see chungha sign with Abyss but I worry about that option too since sunmi had mentioned conflicts with music/album release dates and it seems she has a scrapped albums/songs (think about hey you) I believe that song was supposed to line up with Tail.
Yea, Idk if there is a proper like best and no fault company. It's kinda weighing your options. But in Abyss, Bambam is coming out with a full album so it's kinda looking pretty decent that the artist do continue to get support
nooooo not Abyss, they've turned into a dungeon recently - we haven't had sunmi music in a long time. the only upside is they let her tour pretty widely and frequently
Ohh damm really? Had to look into this and damm, she's been with Abyss for a while. 6 Years starting with Gashina as their first release. But yea, her releases aren't as consistent which is not the best, but I think she's making so much appearance though which idk I guess is subjective in whether that's okay to compensate for the lack of music
Yea, a pre-release in 2020. It really was so different but so good. Hahaha can I even say this? but I feel like Chungha kinda brought back voguing and tutting to the kpop sphere.
Long live Chungha, saw her performance at London MIK, it was fantastic. Can't wait to see her perform live again. Praying for Chungha to find a new agency who will give her the success she truly deserves. Chungha is my favourite solo artist along with Taeyeon. Please send all your love to Chungha. Never give up Chungha.
Yea, one thing about Chungha is that you can't deny her stage prescense. Plus these days most of her concert appearances, you can hear her actually singing live and so that's a further treat that you really dont get to see which makes the experience even more better.
I didn't know that MNH changed management team in the middle of 2020... that explains why Chungha and BVNDIT went from having one mini-album and several digital singles per year, to one mini-album and one digital single per year for Chungha and one hiatus for BVNDIT. Frankly, I don't think the situation will improve. MNH is a company that (since the end of 2020) hardly sends its idols to variety shows, restricts content for fans on social media... and never gives explanations. I was a bvnditbul (BVNDIT fan) and I support Chungha, so I hold a grudge against that agency for how they ignored BVNDIT and their fans for 2 years... I hope Chungha escapes soon to another agency and MNH pays for his carelessness.
Bvndit's mismanagement was wild. I could honestly seem them as a WJSN/StayC hybrid of like they would slowly garner much success with each comeback just because of how different they were and still so shining. But then that 2 year hiatus was so weird and then after Seungeun came back from Girls Planet, they didn't really do much until many months later.
@@cloudchungxiao It's true, BVNDIT was a group of the type that retains its previous base and increases its fandom with each comeback. However, they were completely ignored since September 2020. According to Yiyeon, in a fancafe letter that MNH deleted, the company was in a time of change and they would put BVNDIT on hiatus to give priority to more profitable artists (Chungha)... but they even took away "Monday Radio", their weekly stream on Vlive and it is suspected that they were evicted from the bedroom in early 2021. In fact, Seungeun's participation in "Girls Planet 999" was a personal decision, since the company he did not summon them and they filled their time studying university degrees. Something similar happened in their last comeback, except "Venom", all the songs of "RE:Original" were recorded or composed 3 years ago... and they promoted very little. Chungha must escape from there or her career will be ruined too.
Made sense about how 2020 was a big focus on Chungha considering it was the big year of many pre-releases and lead up to Querencia but what's wild is that they could have given Bvndit a comeback in 2021 when Chungha would have her downtime to recover after such big release but nothing. Little things like Monday Radio would have been a safety net for bvnditbuls to know that they doing alright but yea, to think MNH was wasting their time, like literally so weird
Hahaha yea; hopefully we get get some exciting news within the upcoming months for signing somewhere so she could maybe even drop bare and rare pt 2. The way MNH worded it makes me kinda lowkey hopeful
Oooo I could see that but also not too. Like she showed so much with just that one song so that's why i appreciated it. But also, I feel like some of her other releases had stronger impact. But once again, it's only title tracks so that actually cuts it down by a lot and now also lowkey makes sense. And to add to that, Bicycle is my most streamed song on Spotify so actually yea i get it hahaha
Hmmm interesting I think her best are Stay the night, Gotta go, and Snapping are her best. Like I will never get tired of those songs, but Bicycle it took me a long time to like the song and quickly after I feel off of wanting to listen to it
@@CheerUp2 gotta go and snapping are fantastic as well, Snapping was my favourite until Bicycle came out. Stay the Night grew on me but still not my fav, I find it a little too repetitive but that may be just me. Still a good song but not top 3 or even 5 for me.
i totally agree with you, you just have to see one performance of Chungha, any performance ! and you'll immediately feel drawn to her, she has that mesmerizing quality as an artist that is impossible to take your eyes off of her, it's frustrating to see how the company plays safe and rode on her big success back in 2019 and decided to go down the let's debut a boy group because it "sells more" -_- she has so much talent and she works so hard and i wish that she can find a better agency were she can shine (or found one herself who knows 👀)
Yea, they really tried to ride the wave of 2019 hardcore. Well that's what I think because the lack of ramped up promotion to solidify the success in 2020 was wild. In saying that, there was the pandemic which may have restricted the amount of appearances she could make but just doing things to lift up her appearances still even if they were pre-releases. Like i get they were pre-releases and so maybe they placed more emphasis on the title but they also created MV's for most of them so allocating some towards promoting them elsewhere could have turned a worldwide issue into less of an issue for them
Imagine fumbling the bag so bad. She's so talented and creative. You can tell she loves what she does. I've been wondering what's been going on with her for the last few years. I loved bicycle and I think querencia had some good bsides. I like that she switches it up so much. I can't wait until she's out of that company and on to bigger and better things. She is my favorite female soloist and she always will be.
Actually though, she's one of those who are real chamelon-esque. Like can switch concepts well and makes it a great experience. Querencia to bare and rare shows us that and so hopefully we get part two in some form eventually.
I mean he'll probably thrive initially but yea in the long term, her might get neglected potentially. But yea, also we haven't seen them manage dudes in kpop since the other soloist are in different genre, so could mean good things for him since 8turn seems to be doing alright. But yea, gonna keep an eye on how they gonna treat him because most MNH trainees in survival program haven't had the best experience
After saw rumours about jay park opened or at least have an onlyfans account (idk for sure, ), I'm really worried about chung ha rite now Seriously she's pretty talented. I hope he's not messing her for 2nd time
Idk if the onlyfans should really impact Chungha considering that is slightly on brand-ish with the type of music that he kinda releases. But she's currently doing alright with her reintroduction under MoreVision. Plus she's still out and about on a hiatus while still working and doing things here and there.
?? Is Kard doing bad? I know they've been on a bit of a hiatus these past years because of J Seph in military enlistment but gunshot and ring the alarm were all pretty good songs and they've made a bit of a resurgence. Kinda been a while since they comeback but DSP got acquired by RBW so there might just be a small obstacle of trying to figure out how to mange all of that??
Its really unfortunate how her potential was wasted. I have an “uncle” who is distantly related to her. When he came back from his military service, she was over at his house and was practicing all the time; she was in middle school. Its sad to see her efforts gone down to waste.
^^ My exact same thought. But actually though, her story of just almost kinda leaving this whole idea of a career because she felt bad continually taking money. Like she has done so much and should be proud of where she has come from to where she is now
Chungha indeed made mnh... She is my look up to idol .she is a phenomenal performer and i cant wait for whatever comes next..and i hope for bare and rare part two cause the songs i ve heard from that album so far ar really good and i love dont believe in love
From what I know so far, I think we've heard like three of te songs from bare and rare part 2. But yea, MNH's statement on Chungha is making me hopeful that despite them not releasing it; Chungha might still have the capabilities to release it in some form. The wording was very ambiguous
For me, the only soloist from produce franchise that IS very successful and relevant and is still active in the kpop industry is only Chungha. Even the ones from izone can't achive the same success as her bcs Chungha is a brand herself, she's just a very strong woman soloist material. It's so dissapointing an agency that build themself literally from Chungha is making her drowning
Relevancy and success, she's up there but maybe not as much with a commited fanbase and popularity yet. As for Iz*one soloist, they're all pretty new into their career-ish so I do wanna see there trajectory. But yea, Eunbi and Chaeyeon have done not the best despite being the main two who were predicted to go solo. Yena's doing not bad. Not sure about Yuri though.
Hahaha nice, for me it was gotta go. Must have been such a wild experience though. Rapping, flying, dance break, and the MV was an experience too. Like all done by a soloist is such a crazy thing.
As a casual (and lazy) fan, I always clock out until an artist makes a "real" comeback. I've always saw pre-releases as a taste for what's to come but not necessarily their best foot forward. So I rather just ignore it until the title track finally drops. I feel like more then one prelease is when you lose me.
Yea, I totally see where you're coming from. It just feels like the norm that companies put so much effort into the actual comeback song compared to the b-sides so that's why a good chunk of people usually wait for the actual comeback. But yea, she did drop a crap of pre-releases with very little promotion so that didn't help as much
Chung Ha is such an obvious superstar performer, and is so well-known, I have a lot of trouble comprehending how a company would ever not want to try their best to promote her.
It baffles me how a company will start with one artist, get a bit of fame from said artist and then either drop them and start a new project, group, or soloist or let their artist dwindle while trying to bask in that early glory, doing nothing as a company! When you have someone like Chungha you are trying your best to keep her happy and busy, what is this situation honestly? Are companies this dumb when it comes to powerhouses like her? I will never understand...
Yea, during the pandemic, they signed on Lim Sang-hyun and Vvon so it was one of those things where it's like 2020 should have been a good sign for you to slow your ropes. But they went full blazing with their ego. So not even sure how badly impacted they were. But yea, they really should have solidified Chungha's fame before even trying to start anything else. Now that I'm thinking about it too. Even with Bvndit, Chungha really only had rollercoaster and so debuting Bvndit would have been a big risk but luckily that same year Chungha popped off.
@@cloudchungxiao Yup, exactly! Judging by what they decided to do mid-pandemic, I can clearly see through their incompetence. And I don't think I am the only one. I just hope Chungha gets into a better company where she can be busy being an artist and not role-playing the CEO, trying to do their job as they had her do in MNH. Plus, it's sad enough that they debut artists with no prior thought, risking failing them in the long run, they are also being disrespectful to their senior artists and the one act that put them on the map. It goes to show how unprepared they were to handle Chungha as an artist...
Yea, they really wasted all that money Chungha made them on poor decisions and it feels like they didn't even try to learn from it. But yea, hopefully the next company does her way better.
Performance wise, it would have been so crazy. Both dance style wise but the amount of things that just happen. It really was just so weird to put so much on giving them MVs only to just barely promote it.
I joined the Chungha train at Snapping and was absolutely hyped during Play and adored Sparkling. I hope she can promote her next album properly and fully and with freedom. Chungha can easily sell out venues in Korea and across the world because even if she doesn't have a "solid fanbase" she is still a big name in the GP and the General KPop scene, and I imagine a lot of people would buy her tickets and definitely bring friends and family along if her core fans can't sellout a venue alone. You can just tell her concert would be AMAZING too.
I feel like lowkey her part 2 will just kinda be released once she gets into her new company. Not sure if they will try promote that and might wait for a proper fresh start to start doing that. But OMG can she sell out venues. She's at a point where she would do so well in solo concerts that I'm suprised that they haven't even been trying to do that. It's not even like it's gotta be massive stadiums too. Like she just still has the popularity and could even thrive a bit overseas too.
Yea, one thing MNH does well is have good music made for their artist. Really hope 8Turn don't get sabotaged almost immediately. But also, do you think Matthew Seok could be added to that group to raise it's potential?
Considering how she managed to outdo taeyeon and IU in 2019 i believe she would've been easily one of the biggest names in kpop and not just a soloist. She's a literal ace. I hope there's a real good label out there looking for her and give her the career she deserves.
Yea, she's still got potential despite how far into her career. She's not even releasing music because it's her job, she's actually still being pretty creative with each new era and showing more new sides to her.
I bet the other girls sabotaged her and used their weight th block her. American singers do that all the time.
How did this happen when IU's bleuming cd is number 1 then. She is even pitted against herself making her songs #1 & #2 at the same time in 2019.
@@kyladyer2855What other girls?
STAY TONIGHT SHOULD HAVE MADE HER MUCH BIGGER. Just the choreography alone was enough for it to be forever iconic.
Yea, idk what the reaction was for Korean viewers but it was a whole different concept that now thinking about it suits Chungha so much. Idk if this would be a good comparison but you should list to Nuh Uh by Chungha. I wanna say that's like the child or nephew of Stay Tonight.
ISTG I LITERALLY HAD IT ON LOOP FOR A MONTH WHEN IT CAME OUT T-T IT’S JUST TOOOOOO GOOD-
I'm responsible for at least a million of the choreo video views - idk how royalties work in Korea but I'm hoping since it's on her own channel it counts as a perfomace and she gets some more money for it than the song alone
If her company promoted her right when she was at her most popular she'd probably be THE soloist right now
Potentially though. I was just thinking that she really doesn't follow too much of the trends so it'll kinda be a big risk with each comeback in that positive reception will fluctuate but yea her name would still be out there and she would be even more of an innovator and influence to the future generations
I still believe she's one of THE soloists
And she'll bounce back now that we've got confirmation of her departure date
Damn Chungha's stage outfits are all great. Way better than many girl groups I've seen.
Period!!
Her stylists NEVER miss.
Honestly though. Very few times where she looks bad.
@@cloudchungxiao I mean 👁👄👁 she didn't look bad because she's beautiful af but we can say she didn't look extraordinarily beautiful a few times.
Hahaha yea, I mean her stylist just knows how to elevate her appeal even more.
Wtf is wrong with MNH, girl carried this agency on her back for many years while being its main asset and making money and that's how she's been rewarded...
Never been her biggest fan, but I genuinely feel like her potential was wasted so badly that it physically hurts 💀
Yea, she paid her mother's debt, and uplifted MNH and for some reason that wasn't enough to not be a target of sabotage from that same company??
She literally built that company up. What a shame
BVANDIT disbanded ??? seriously ?? 😭
What the HELL I had no idea that bvndit disbanded. I’m so upset they were so talented. I really had hope they would get their time to shine 😢
Omg that is so sad that y'all didn't hear about that. But yea, they disbanded a few months after their Venom comeback
Ohh damm, was this relatively recent?
@@cloudchungxiao it was last year in October at KAMP LA
Ohh damm; she really going to all the KAMP's hahaha. But yess, not tooo long til she's free though and surely; we'll see her bounce back
It’s unbelievable that she is potentially one of the most talented female idols of all time, yet her promotions are so bad.
HAHAHAHA yea, when I see her; she really does not give Annie vibes.
Ohh nice, don't really have a community or team where I'm from so thought this video would help I guess. But yea, hoping the best for sure for her
Saw her on MIK Festival in Paris in February and she also talk about her condition and it really showed that this saddened her... Really praying that she is free soon !
Yea, she's got a schedule in August so maybe that means she's still got a bit more longer??
@@cloudchungxiao august😢 bad news
Reading this; im a little confused. She's got her schedule but also shes gone from MNH at the end of April CONFIRMED. Sooooo, she already signed with a new agency??
I hope she pulls a Kang Daniel and starts her own company. She has the love and admiration of the fans and staff that have been with her. She should be promoted like the superstar that she is.
Yea, I mean Kang Daniel is pretty crazy in popularity. Despite like me not following him, I know he has a strong fanbase that comes together for anything he does. Chungha has kinda that but not to the extent of Kang Daniel so I would be kinda scared she could fall into a Hyolyn situation where starting her own company might be too much and then she just wont be able to release as frequently.
she got me into kpop too, actually I think shes the only K artist I am musically following, shes the industry and deserves much more.
Omg yea, I did have an idea of a short to make of Chungha has kinda done to influence the kpop industry because she's done a lot in her career span. She really deviates from making music for the trends and really just does her thing
@@cloudchungxiao yes you can tell CHUNG HA is an artist, she is doing it for the art and passion, not like some others
But yea, she could start to generate more hype slowly if she did tours which hopefully wherever she goes, that's one of those first few things they will try to accomplish within the first few years.
chungha's roller coaster remains my absolute fav, its such a catchy iconic song
The icon that is rollercoaster though. One of the dominating songs of Kpop in 2018 esp for the domestic market
Bare and rare was promoted so bad like I feel like hardly anyone knew she was even was comebacking in the first place.
I AM SO GLAD SHE IS FREE AND DOING BETTER
YESSS, She's really out here thriving more.
Quite literally one of my top three soloists, I love her artistry and admire her talent. I'm hopeful to see her make a strong comeback.
Yess, not sure how much freedom she has been able to have in her music but artistically, she's pretty up there for soloist.
killing me is honestly so good, almost on par with gotta go. i'm sad that it didn't go as viral tho. i also LOVE bare & rare album so much
Omg yea, at first it was kinda weird to me.
There ain’t no I.o.I curse 😂
Produce Curse?? It's that whole theory about post-produce groups not doing well
@@cloudchungxiao I’m def glad that most of WJSN renewed and the company stated that the other Korean members are still considered a part of the group.
They should be ASHAMED for neglecting this talent!
Honestly though. It makes no sense how they can just throw Chungha to the side like that after lifting them up to the extent that she did.
So she starts with the sound of the glass officially breaking to signal the start of a new era, like geniusness.
saaame, only followed gg in kpop, and chungha now the exception
It is true that mismanagement of mnh seen at mismanage at Bvndit and now Chungha and focus group 8turn a rookie group.if didn't because of Chungha company never recognized
Yea, Chungha's success literally funded Bvndit's career, 8turn's career and the other two soloist. Like what were they really thinking?
@@cloudchungxiao after all they mismanage chungha for what chungha bring company needs.
Kq literally had block b small company where?
Yea, not sure how that works. Block B made there own company in 2013 but became a sub label for KQ in 2016 when KQ were also formed. Plus not sure about Block B as a group so don't know if they were making waves during the whole 2016 onwards era to be making bank or nah
It’s wild how she fell off so badly. I got into kpop in 2019 and she was everywhere. Also the whole querencia roll out went bad indeed, bc I had no idea that dream of you was a pre release single. It’s sad, but I hope she can rebuild her momentum
Yea; it will depend on what she decides to do but I feel like she ahs the ability to bounce back
I miss her so much. Her music and dance really helped me boost my energy when I felt the lowest, I wish she finds a nice company :c
MLD just seemed very messy though and kept making so much mistakes
i remember in 2020 chungha was everyone's token soloist but now she's been mostly forgotten💔
I am such a huge fan of her. Her songs are always catchy and memorable. I also love her outfits. I hope one day she gets everything she deserves
Hahaha actually though. One thing that Chungha's team has excelled in is her styling
I pray the future for Chungha is bright and amazing. She is amazing and a literal ACE. We stan her!
YESSSS, the only thing on her to do list is to get out of MNH ASAP
Update 2024: Chungha 😭 has returned with “I’m Ready!” and soon “Eenie Meenie” will drop! She has new social media and management! The fandom name changed to HAART.
MNH 👎!
Yea, so grateful that more attention is being placed on her again. Plus Eenie Meenie is going to have Hongjoong from Ateez as a feature too.
Chungha baby create your own company so you can be the only priority plsss
The actual dream though. Watch as we see Chungha's karma hit MNH in the face though. We'll see her bounce back while MNH looks in jealousy
She needs sm she has no scandals and the promotional material and creativity would be CRAZYYYYYY
Yea, I mean SM really is creative with their music so I could see that. But SM really is a trainee based company and dont really sign established artist much. Plus with what has been going on, they are doing a lot of changes which idk if Chungha would want to be a guinea pig for what they do.
LIGHTS OUT FOR MNH ONCE SHE LEAVES😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yea, Im like lowkey torn about that because 8Turn and Matthew Seok but yea hope MNH get there karma
i've never understood what the thought process behind the release of querencia was and why mnh would sabotage their biggest artist like that. she was THE breadwinner in the company and they did her so horribly. if i remember correctly, she contracted covid right when the album was supposed to drop so they dropped x while she recovered, then had her promote bycicle in February. i can understand the delay there, in fact, i was a little worried that she was performing on stage so soon after being sick considering there weren't even vaccines available when she contracted it, but what i never understood was the limited promotion of the previous singles. stay tonight would've demolished with a proper music show promotion window of three weeks, play too of it had been given more time. i think even bycicle would've done better if she had been able to promote the other two properly beforehand. bycicle should've been promoted with demente like snapping and chica were. killing me should've been given a proper promotion cycle too. i remember people asking where had chungha gone when she was literally supposed to be promoting killing me, they didn't even know she had released a single. i think at that point she had been getting more promotion from sm and the collabs she had done with their artists than mnh themselves. i don't even wanna get into bvndit because they were completely abandoned after jungle. mnh completely shot themselves on the foot and now they're bleeding. but I'm glad bvndit and chungha are basically out.
Let's support ChungHa ♥
YESSSS, I'm pretty sure she'll know she has the support but we'll just have to show her that it was her that we were following and not MNH when she does what she does.
With Sunmi it s my favorite female solo artist in kpop !
Jessi too
-Roller coaster
-Gotta Go
-Snapping
-bicycle
- Stay tonight
- Dream of you are very good hits, songs
Ohh nice, really like Sunmi and Jessi too, what are you fav songs from them?
@@cloudchungxiao Sunmi ? 24 hours / pporappippam / Gashina / heroin /siren / you can’t sit with us / Noir 🔥
Jessi who dat B / ssenunni / drip / / nunu nana / type of X and Ganji 😄
Ohh nice, I like Star, Numb and Cold Blooded by Jessi and Heart Burn and Siren by Sunmi
Like the only soloist i can see that transcend this lack of support in soloist constantly would be IU and Taeyeon and those two literally had many years to build all that up
She deserve better 🤧
Honestly though. She impact that she has had with so much people. Like it really shouldn’t be going like this
@@cloudchungxiao she is unstoppable, she is a universally creative and talented person who wants one thing - to be with her fans and create new music. I pray for her every day. As a big fan of hers, it hurts me to see her in this bad position for 3 years with her worst company
SHE'S CONFIRMED LEAVING IN A MONTH SO NOT TOO LONG TO GO
@@cloudchungxiao AAAAAA, WE WONNNNNN
@@cloudchungxiao 😭😭😭😭
I think I really felt the lack of promotions when I saw the "killing me" mv on my youtube for you page by chance when it came out, at the time, I didn't even know that chungha was releasing a new song
I wouldn't consider myself a chungha fan since I don't follow closely on her activities but I'm definitely more than a casual listener
I really enjoy her songs and hope that she'll be able to continue her career under a better company
Her career has just begun.
Hopefully, though. It really is 50/50 in whether her senior status is like legendaric and she will still thrive (Taeyeon) or like "you're old" vibes and people will only kinda just support her early days (Park Bom)
Her words remind me of those of Seungeun when she went to GP999 on her own. There was exactly 0 support from MNH.
Like it was that bad
bicycle and songs from querencia were shadowed by her covid news. i was always waiting for her album until it get delayed
Yea, they whole lead up took a while and was very unique compared to the normal promotion cycle for a title track. I feel like she was supposed to release it all within a year but something for sure happened plus then her covid diagnosis. It just was all really unfortunate
She is one of my favorite soloists
Ayyy, my number one ult honestly, When did you find out about her?
I will always be supporting you Queen😘❤️
Yesss, my delusional self hopes that she catches wind of the amount of support she gets or atleast she can feel the same amount of positive energy in these comments.
I remember hogging my highschool individual bathroom just to dance to Gotta Go 🤣🤣
Chungha is the whole package. I can't believe they didn't treat their best card right.
Hahaha, one of the first dances I try to learn because of how addicting it was
I miss her so much and her music. I hope she decides to come back after she leave the company. I for one will support her.
Ohh for sure, she isn't gone gone. I think she'll probably either have a plan ready or she'll take a small break before deciding her next steps.
But yea, her releases aren't as consistent which is not the best, but I think she's making so much appearance though which idk I guess is subjective in whether that's okay to compensate for the lack of music
wait when did stay tonight happen because stay tonight is in my opinion her best song
Early 2020 I Believe although I could be wrong
@@bakasso8484 that long ago??? i feel old 🫠
I think Stay Tonight is a pre-comeback song. An early release.
I love her songs Stay Tonight, Demente, & Sparkling
Omg yesss, Demente but spanish version though. Like no one is doing it like her.
Thank you sooooo much ❤

I will forever defend Bicycle, it is one of her best titles. I LOVE that song.
Oooo I could see that but also not too. Like she showed so much with just that one song so that's why i appreciated it. But also, I feel like some of her other releases had stronger impact. But once again, it's only title tracks so that actually cuts it down by a lot and now also lowkey makes sense. And to add to that, Bicycle is my most streamed song on Spotify so actually yea i get it hahaha
that’s my fave song from her n maybe one of my fave all time kpop songs lol👄
Hmmm interesting I think her best are Stay the night, Gotta go, and Snapping are her best. Like I will never get tired of those songs, but Bicycle it took me a long time to like the song and quickly after I feel off of wanting to listen to it
@@CheerUp2 gotta go and snapping are fantastic as well, Snapping was my favourite until Bicycle came out.
Stay the Night grew on me but still not my fav, I find it a little too repetitive but that may be just me. Still a good song but not top 3 or even 5 for me.
@@kpoplea6170 The beautiful thing of music though is everyone can have there own opinion :D at the end of the day, all her music is good lolol
Manifesting for a Gotta Go Chunghaaaaa
Hahaha another hit like gotta go or for her to gotta go out of MNH?
i totally agree with you, you just have to see one performance of Chungha, any performance ! and you'll immediately feel drawn to her, she has that mesmerizing quality as an artist that is impossible to take your eyes off of her, it's frustrating to see how the company plays safe and rode on her big success back in 2019 and decided to go down the let's debut a boy group because it "sells more" -_- she has so much talent and she works so hard and i wish that she can find a better agency were she can shine (or found one herself who knows 👀)
Like i get they were pre-releases and so maybe they placed more emphasis on the title but they also created MV's for most of them so allocating some towards promoting them elsewhere could have turned a worldwide issue into less of an issue for them
I love Sparkling. I like that she can give me concept whiplash.
Hahahaha absolute whiplash. She really can pull any concept and make it work.
This makes me so woeried for Seok Matthew from MNH, I hope he leaves that company regardless of what happens on boys planet
The moment he revealed he is from MNH I was like boy, why? 😭
After saw rumours about jay park opened or at least have an onlyfans account (idk for sure, ), I'm really worried about chung ha rite now
Seriously she's pretty talented.
@@cloudchungxiao yeah, I hope she's okay and safe there
I just realized that any songs that get in kpop random dance vids that come from the group THAT is in small company always fall out. Kard, chungha.
Oh so you're kinda related to her 😮?
Bicycle got me into Kpop it’s such a bop Chung ha is still my fav solist can’t believe mnh is f ing up
Hahaha nice, for me it was gotta go.
Actually though, MNH really forgot their roots and said yea nah for some reason to the reason why they're even that known to the industry
I will be hella pissed if something happens to 8turn if they treated her like that I’m no so sure about how they’d treat them, I’ll pray for 8turn.
I guess based on their track records, you just gotta make money and be on the CEO's good behavior
Not promoting Stay Tonight and Play properly is where it went wrong... so much potential!!
Performance wise, it would have been so crazy. Both dance style wise but the amount of things that just happen. It really was just so weird to put so much on giving them MVs only to just barely promote it.
i love chungha sm she deserves wayy better
And it seems like she's getting better but MNH really doing the absolute most with the recent copyrighting
I pray for 8TURN since they are in MNH they better treat them properly
Yea, one thing MNH does well is have good music made for their artist. Really hope 8Turn don't get sabotaged almost immediately. But also, do you think Matthew Seok could be added to that group to raise it's potential?
