I stopped going to barbers when I was like 15 because they are in a rush to the next client.
Buy your own and just don't rush. Be very careful. After a few cuts you'll get used to it.
Before cutting, just go through the process too like wash, condition, durag, etc. Basically how she did everything

That's a nice fade. I've been cutting hair since I was a Junior in High school. My two sons never been to a barber shop because I always cut their hair until they went to college and I bought them clippers and showed them how to cut and sent em off. Maybe 32 total yrs we've saved haircutting money. It's a nice side hustle also.

@@Wanteyt just go slow. It's not a race. Use the guards from high to low 2 to 1 whatever. Try not to jump down too low too fast while you're learning. You don't want to cut too deep and you don't mean to be that low. You'll get to a point where u know sooner which guard you need. It's not a hard skill to pick up. You'll get it.

Any tips on cutting the back the head on yourself? I mess that up on my self all the time. I’m losing my hair so I buzz it but want to fade like that
me personally i have a closet with a mirror, i grab the mirror and sit facing opposite to the mirror on the closet. you can also drop the fade in the back just in case if you don't feel as confident in the back so it can still look very good! hope it helps a bit :)
Keep practicing and take your time in the mirror. Stick to your fading technique you do on the sides and you will be okay! Let your hair grow out as much as possible.

you shouldn't cut the back and get a burst fade, and also grow your hair out a little so you look better if you get a burst fade.

Yes definitely invest in a trimmer if not that you may be able to us a box shaver but if you break out easily just stick to a trimmer thats sharp but not to sharp on your skin

When I started cutting my hair it was easier to trim myself, now that I am good at fading my hair I can't trim myself like i used to, I CAN'T SEE MY HAIRLINE PROPERLY, THE MORE I TRY TO CONCERNTRATE THE BLURRIER MY VISION GET.
