Lyrics :
Rockets and moon shots
Spend it on the have nots
Money, we make it
Fore we see it you take it
And make you wanna holler
The way they do my life
And make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Crime is increasing
Trigger happy policing
Panic keeps spreading
God knows where we're heading
And make me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
And make me wanna holler
Yea throw up both my hands
Ohoo...
Piano Solo :
Hang ups and let downs
Bad breaks and set backs
Natural fact is
I can't pay my taxes
Oh, make me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
It makes me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
And throw up both my hands
The way they do my life
Oh, make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Listen...oh here no good...
This ain't livin'...
Crime is still increasing
Trigger happy policing
Panic keep on spreading
God knows where we're heading
And make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
And you make wanna holler
The way they do my life
It was settin' backs...

this is an awesome performance not only from Joe but the band is just fantastic!
Joe just absolutely SLAYS every single jam he touches. I am always gonna mourn the loss of this grand artiste, every hour of every day. Love ya, Joe, and thank you for sharing your soul with us.
Well spoken. I so cried when got news our loss. Going back now just a kid he did the unthinkable...Joe made me feel and I saved for his records. Even a child can feel this so much beauty and soul in that man. When he smiled or laughed I lit up inside. So distraught I asked my brother did he know how much he was loved? And he said oh sure. Hes like magic.
@Cherie Rhynes I started my love of his music back in the 60's as a tweener. I was so happy to be able to finally hear him perform live a couple of years before he was called home. I loved every note he sang that evening and I will always love his music. Very few can touch a soul like Joe ❤️
Joe Cocker. The Band.
no one ever brings it to the table like Joe....the guy sings with the last breathe he has...
Nah. MARVIN is the table
Religieux. Donne le frisson. Ultime. Magnifique. Sommet du talent de Joe Cocker ? Rend le mystère et la nuit PREMIERE de la chanson magique de Marvin Gaye
very impressive version....fantastic and cool!!!

Best version ever. Great Joe.

So sorry to say that Mr. Cocker's version is the one I like the most... Great musicians (the band), too.
Think on all things lovely, just, good etc.
simple beatiful. God's flow
THIS IS THE BEST VERSION of THIS TRACK WITHOUT A DOUBT ... WE MISS YOU JOE
Nobody touches Marvin Gayes original version. Dude sounds drunk on this version.
@@maymeclayton1402 gotta agree re Marvin, though check out Molly Johnson’s version: ruclips.net/video/6nykTgEajkk/видео.html
Still doesnt affect his vocals. Thats Joe. And hes singing the song and his love and respect for Marvins song.
I see two separate themes in each song. And your interpretation of a “drunk” isn’t far from mine on this version of the song. But first, Joe’s not drunk. That’s his sound.
When I hear Marvin sing this song, he is testifying. He is preaching. He wants US to know, to understand.
When I listen to Joe’s interpretation, I hear a man talking to himself. Maybe sitting in a bar, nursing a beer. He’s down. And this is his inner dialogue.
In truth, this is a brilliant version. To be able to bring out a new vision on a song as iconic as ‘Inner city Blues’ takes a great deal of talent.
The truly sad thing is that this song is as relevant as it was when it came out.
Only Joe could do this
En Montreux pasan cosas estupendas .!
Ya pasaban con mi adorado Freddie Mercury....!!!
Muito obrigado pela obra prima.
Il numero uno assoluto immenso
Joe è nu sfaccimm!
¡¡EXQUISITO,,GRACIAS JOE!!
Who feels the saxphone in 5:30, it's amazing
very cool
great
This is awesome! This performance took a song that was not one of my favorites, and made this one of my favorite performances--Joe, the band, the feeling, the rhythm!!
Pretty darn goooood!
ça a l'authenticité du "I put a spell on you" sur scène de Nina Simone et du chant désespéré de "Blasé", d'Archie Sheep. Cri primal ? Hannibal devant les Alpes.
one and only Joe Cocker ....
JOE "COVER" COCKER ! ! ! GIN(): )
Everyone, please listen to joe's original version, then tell me what you think
Nince, nice, nice.
Lol he's never been to the inner city.
Gas fitter in Sheffield.
It was a soulful tribute to marvinand his song please.
The band was awesome, I didn't like his performance, the song does not suit him, at all, felt like he needed to go to bathroom badly, better leave it for M Gaye.
Love Marvin Gaye. Love Joe Cocker. But, Joe singing this inner city black view on the world is a little far fetched. Band does a great job though.
Nothing beats the original Marvin Gaye’s Inner City blues this is drunken version of it
Sure he was drunk and that worked for him. It was a tribute to marvins song. Please above all else injected soul in every note.
