One of the most haunting phrases in Star Wars canon. “Good soldiers follow orders.”
Obviously!
The Clones really are the heart of the series, their story is one of the most tragic elements. "I used to believe that being a good soldier meant doing everything they told you. That's how they engineered us. But we're not droids. We're not programmed. You have to learn to make your own decisions." - Captain Rex
Tupp was an Umbara survivor as well, he didn't deserve this. Only months away from it all going down...
Ah, the Clone Conspiracy arc. Dee Bradley Baker brings his absolute A tier performance as the Clones this arc.
Good soldiers follow orders.
"Good Soldiers follow orders" the line that changed everything we knew about the clones and Order 66.
4:03 Not only do they lose their momentum according to Anakin. But a few clones behind right as Fives tackles him even stop and lower their weapons in shock at what they just witnessed.
Notice how Tup only stared and went after the jedi sisters but not Anakin.
So begins the Lost Missions season.
What happens to the clone Tup begins a series of events that helped us understand exactly why the clones so willingly obeyed Order 66.
Fun fact, the Tiplar sisters Clone Commander (The green one) is called Commander Doom. He’s one of two characters that is a Marvel reference.
3:24 The reason he's half robot now is because he blew up in the first episode of Clone Wars (Chronologically).
7:46
If you look very carefully, a 501st clone trooper got his helmet pulled off by a B2 super rocket droid, so heartbreaking. 😢💔
2:36 Fun fact: Commander Doom's armor color is heavily based on Doctor Doom, from Marvel comics. I'm not sure if he's ever actually named in this show itself.
Props to the droid that threw hands with anakin Skywalker of all people 😂
4:02 I don't think she actually expected him to pull the trigger and therefore didn't defend herself.
"Just like the rest of them though, he never caught whiff of what was really going on... until it was far too late.
Notice how Tup doesn't attack Anakin.
"We will watch your career with great interest."
@@wingedbluj1674 "A surprise tp be sure, but a welcome 1"
Fun fact. Before this series, the clones all knew that eventually they would have to execute order 66. In the OG Battlefront 2 game, we go through a archived journal of a 501st clone explaining how they were secretly working against the jedi. But the Lost mission episodes changed that.
I think that change was for the better.
So, the clones knowing that they were eventually going to execute Order 66 was exclusively a Battlefront 2 thing. Other Legends stories, such as the Republic Commando novels, explain that, while the clones knew about Order 66 (since it was one of the 150 contingency orders that all clones were trained to follow since birth) they never knew that they would have to execute it and thought that it was simply there in case the Jedi went rogue.
Good soldiers follow orders.
Bringing back some old faces from earlier seasons in this episode, with the spider general, Tupp, i think the twins were in earlier seasons, and the last member of Domino Squad Fives.
This is an interesting story arc, personal favourite for this season.
This incident was actually caused by a brain injury to the clone and combined with the inhibitor chip caused this state. It also mixed up orders in his mind forcing order 66. At least the theory. Some soldiers went mad on the frontline combat during d-day although they were pulled to the back before anything happened. They became walking basketcases and had really bad PTSD. They sat the war out in an office quietly doing paperwork as they were useful in other ways. Although many ww2 veterans haven’t forgotten so they have nightmares and often drink alcohol to dull the mental pain.
Ira Hayes did that as well after the Battle of Iwo Jima!
5:05 Tiplee's (this Jedi here) story is continued in the sadly cancelled "Son of Dathomir" Clone Wars arc (where Dooku and Maul would have talked on screen for the 1st time), which was later at least turned into a comic of the same name. It's such a shame Disney decided to cancel this show after taking over (with the other 10 unfinished CW arcs remaining in total).
You're confusing it with "Son of Dathomir". "Dark Disciple" is about Quinlan Vos and Ventress
@@purpleguymaxence3722Of course yeah, sorry. Don't know how I got that confused. Already fixed.
It's also a little more complicated than Disney just straight up deciding to cancel it. There was a rights dispute since Cartoon Network had exclusive broadcast rights that they weren't willing to let go of when Disney bought out Lucasfilm and wanted to broadcast the show on the Disney XD channel. It was that dispute not being resolved that ultimately meant the show had to be cancelled.
You're right that it's a shame though, but at least we got Season 7 in the end, along with a bunch of other great animated shows, and the long wait for Season 7 did mean a huge increase in animation quality when we did finally get to see some of those cancelled stories brought to life.
You guys are really in for a treat from here on out. The quality of the show & stories in general are only going up from here, and it is a steep incline. These seasons are considered the best of the show.
Seasons 6 and 7 are aiming for a mature audience IMHO. From now on this isn't a kids' show anymore.
This is one of my favorite arcs in Clone Wars!
Read the Darth Maul Son of Dathomir comic series. It's based on the cancelled episodes that didn't make it to the series when the show got cancelled by Disney. The comic shows the fate of Tiplee.
From great to great.
Season 5 ends on an absolute banger arc and season 6 starts with another insane banger.
Also I always love thinking back to the first few seasons of Clone Wars and seeing how it gets darker and darker as it goes on.
Thats so well done imo.
There is less levity, everything feels oppressive and situations are hopeless af.
Season 6 is also just really good imo.
The clone at 2:35 is Clone Commander Doom and yes he's based off of Doctor Doom from Marvel
Rex and other clones actually were on the verge of breaking down after the clone wars ended as many can’t forget the horrors they saw. Rez had a near breakdown during a mission after the clone wars because of battle droids.
I just realized that the tactical droid here 10:13 is General Kalani but Anakin decapitates him… but he’s in a future show so did he get repaired? Then again maybe it’s not because this one has yellow eyes while Kalani has red… they look the same other than the eyes though.
Season 6 is off to a pretty strong start! This is another of my favorite arcs in the show; we get to slowly peel the curtain back on Palpatine's plot. We don't get to see everything, but we get a lot of answers to questions people have had for years. They really played the long game in humanizing the clones, only to pull the rug out from us when we least expected it. With that out of the way, let's go ahead and get on with the fun facts.
Let's start with the new character introductions: Tiplee and Tiplar, twin Jedi masters from the planet Mikkia making their first and only appearance in the series not including flashbacks or holograms. Their species (Mikkian) is also making its Star Wars debut. Bothe are voiced by actress Anna Graves who voiced several other characters in the series, most notably Duchess Satine Kryze. They lead a unique unit of clones led by Clone Commander Doom (his CT number has so far not been revealed). Both his name and his armor colors are references to Marvel Comics' Dr. Doom. His unit is unique in that they are, along with some members of the 501st, the first clone unit seen using M3 Bulwark Blast Shields in combat (the shields are actually making their first appearance also). We also get the first appearance of the B2 super battle droid rocket troopers. We saw the B1 variant of these all the way back in the Malevolence arc in season 1. Another type of flying super battle droids have shown up, but the type in this episode is a new variant with larger boosters. Next up is returning characters: first up is Admiral Trench. It would seem he survived the destruction of his ship all the way back in the season 2 episode "Cat and Mouse" (the very first episode in chronological order), though not without some major injuries. We also get a brief cameo from Admiral Wulff Yularen at around 8:06, the Republic naval officer assigned to Anakin, looking older and more in line with his original appearance as a background character on the first Death Star in A New Hope. But the most notable returning characters are Fives and Tup.
Tup was first introduced back in the Umbara arc back in season 4. He was the trooper who led Pong Krell into a trap so that he could be captured and detained by Rex and the rest of the 501st and 212th troopers that were attacked. Dee Bradley Baker really outdoes himself in this episode with Tup, going from that creepy hypnosis when he executes Order 66 to completely confused and remorseful just a moment later when he snaps out of it. An interesting thing I would point out, at 5:25 when Tup is tied up and goes back into "Good soldiers follow orders" Order 66 mode, notice that he only gets aggressive and attacks Tiplee when she enters the room. He doesn't react to Anakin at all, even though Anakin is the closest Jedi to him. Just an interesting thing that I never noticed my first time watching this episode. The only other thing I can think of is at 10:14, we get one of the few times we see Star Wars acknowledge real science. That super tactical droid is right to be confused as to how their shuttle is experiencing drag with no atmosphere. A funny little semi fourth wall break on how ridiculous Star Wars can be.
Well, this arc is only going to get better from here! Can't wait to watch the rest of it with you guys. See you on Thursday for part 2! 🙂
15:30 She probably didn't really know him at all! Tup is one of Anakin's 501st, not one of theirs, so it's unlikely they had any close contact beforehand. It's really just the fact that Jedi learn how to control their actions and let go of harmful emotions from a young age, especially in the crèche (which Anakin canonically never was in).

@@stewartlaird4571"After all the clones have done, after all we've sacrified; we're good soldiers, we followed orders... and for what".
It's started. Darth Sidious' next horrendous trick from his wicked fingers have closely started the three haunting words.😢💔
Three ? You mean Four
The beginning of the end starts now
"This is where the fun begins."
Jedi are taught to not get attached so it's not surprising that the other Jedi showed restraint... The Jedi believe attachment/Love could lead to the dark side as its a powerful emotion for example Anakin turned because of his love for Padme looking to save her....
Oh this arc, and the 501st are wearing Phase 2 clone trooper armor too! 😭
Btw the reason why Tup didnt run at Anakin was because Order 66 was ordering them to treat Anakin as their new leader to follow
That is one hell of a leap.
@@shugaroony not really lmao. After order 66 clones were clearly chilling with Anakin as they stormed the jedi temple in revenge of the sith.
It was all part of Palpatine plan remember
The start of order 66.
Buckle up again, we got another bumpy ride, but for Fives this time lol 😂
you guys are at PEAK clone wars. Strap in cuz it only gets crazier.
I don't think she was expecting Tup to actually shoot, or maybe thought it was somethingelse. She wasn't prepared for it. Why would she be? The clones are all the same.
This arc is dark as heck
It was a nice video, question Are you planning to post hazbin hotel reactions here?
Good soldiers…
Reaction to Mortal Kombat Armageddon all Characters Ending pls 😊
The new dead by daylight chapter is out its amazingly scary 😁
It's on the test build now but all trailers are out
