Watching this after the new discovery of the spinosaurus tail. For those who don't know, the spinosaurus had a paddle-like tail, indicating it was mostly a marine animal
The tail discovery tells us it was heavily aquatic. But there are a number discoveries suggesting it still hunted on land on rare occasion and did have conflicts with other large theropods.
It probably couldn't even stand on land with those disproportionately small legs. If it did, spinosaurus would probably collapse under it's own weight. But this is odd because surely it had to be on land to lay its eggs.
Dlavian I don’t know how effective the tail was for swimming though since one study showed that it would be less flexible towards the end so it could have been used for directional control while the legs were used as propulsion unless the soft tissue and muscle on the tail accounted for the neural spines being so close together towards the end of the tail.

People get so obsessed with having their favorites win, they really forget one crucial fact: Apex predators like Spinosaurus, Giganotosaur, and Tyrannosaurus would not fight each other if they could help it. Mainly because the battle would likely end with both losing due to wounds inflicted by the other. T-rex would likely not challenge a Spinosaur due to it's size and the Spino would be hesitant to engage a large predator like the rex. At most they'd go into threat displays. Another thing to remember is none of these creatures have human-level intelligence, so they aren't analyzing everything about their opponent. Spinosaur would be avoided if only because it was freaking huge compared to T-Rex and Gigo. So please think before you post "T-rex wud win becuase it has super strong byte!" or "Spino would win becuze of it's claws!"
mm interesting opinion but they're more reptile than mammal like. The problem is that an actual reptile doesn't think two times before fight, so I think this encounters may have been more frequent than exprected, also dinosaurs were not so inteligent and if you're not intelligent you evaluate less accurate your opponent's force, they are more prone to aattack even if smaller
@@jj-ce8bb Paleontologist have recently found a Spinosarus fossil with elongated spines on its tail, suggesting that it may have a tail fin similar to the ones found in crocodilians and newts

Honestly, one of the coolest things in this video is the guy's accent (and the music). I can so easily imagine an old Grandpa telling his grandchildren a fairy tale about dragons. It fits in really well with the "ancient/extinct" theme.
People seem to forget this confrontation took place in a drought and are saying that this Spino's "lifestyle" is unrealistic. Whatever form or lifestyle Spinosaurus took, it would've HAD to hunt on land during drought and there it will come into contact with other predators.
They could probably walk for like 5 minutes before tiring, that's not even probable. They were dead as soon as the water dried up, guaranteed. Their legs were like 5 feet long and their knees were in their abdomens.
@@StudioMod That means that we must have reconstructed the spino wrong. If it was as good as dead in a drought then the species wouldn't have been successful, and certainly wouldn't have popped up in the fossil record.
@@starzilla624 First of all, I'm a dinosaur expert so you can imagine the giggle fit I just had. Second of all: nothing you said makes any sense. Droughts are not world-wide, haha. The spinosaurus would simply migrate slowly to the deeper waters as the drought was occurring. It's the same for any similar animal today. Do droughts wipe out crocodiles? Do you see crocodiles trekking across the desert? No, you don't. Give our scientists some credit, they know what they're doing.
@@bladeoftheruinedking2543 Now, scientist say not, it probably did not have the strength to carry its long body as shown here---------->img00.deviantart.net/f676/i/2015/176/5/3/spinosaurus_aegyptiacus__bipedal__by_markm98-d8yo7r1.jpg
Carefully put this whole size analogy together. In modern days you have specializations. For example, crocodiles are far larger than Lions, but both in their elements are the top predators. A croc cant defeat a lion on land and lion cant defeat a croc in water. Another scenario - Mountain Lions are known to compete with Black bears which are much larger in size. Both are top predators. And interestingly, both are not foolish to be fighting with each other when their food sources are abundant. Nature has its way of balance. In similar way if Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus lived in same time, probably they were the top of their own elements and not conflicting unless there was a severe scarcity of food.
Thats spino was freaking hybrid, and kill a T rex, Real spino are Nothing to do to Trex, Carcha dumb and not have strong bite force, but more big than T rex

People need to quit comparing T.Rex to Spinosaurus. T.Rex was not smart enough to analyze something like Spino in a fight, he would just be scared off by Spino.
T'rex was the smartest large theropod... people think tyrannosaurs are idiots when really they are very smart, not as smart as raptors but still past other theropod intellect.
Spinosaurus in popular culture: I am the biggest carnivore on the planet and I annihilate everything that dares approach me! Spinosaurus in real life: I just want to be left alone in my lake and eat fish and also stay away from Mr.Carcharodontosaurus.

Out of all the spino creations, this is so far the best and has the closest resemblance to the one from JP3

This fight is better than a lot of Jurassic world fights, which is just *bite neck push push bite neck
Doesn’t last unnecessarily long either.
It’s not just “bite neck push push bite neck”.
😅I mean, what did you expect It's just a bunch of big heads what do you want them to do backflips shoot laser beams domain expansions go gear 5 there's only 3 in the franchise that can only throw hands.
Honestly, one of the coolest things in this video is the guy's accent (and the music). I can so easily imagine an old Grandpa telling his grandchildren a fairy tale about dragons. It fits in really well with the "ancient/extinct" theme.
John Hurt was actually British.
My top 5 favourite dinos
1 Spinosaurus
2Giganotosaurus
3Carcharadontosaurus
4Tyrannosaurus
5velociraptor
Yeah, I liked Jurassic Park 3, too!
Adrian Gabriel Yap Spinosaurus is my favorite too! :)
Adrian Gabriel Yap I think that Giganotosaurus and Carcharadontosaurus are the same dinosaur but live in different places!
memyself1100 Carcharodontosaurus had a bigger head but a small jaw. Gigonotosaurus had a smaller head with a big jaw.
Awwww you guys are soo sweet to me!
Spinosaurus has massive guns, Carcharodontosaurus & T Rex skipped arm day at the gym.
LOL!!!!

A wild Carcharadontosorus has appeared
Spinosorus uses the “bitch slap”
A regular slap not that kind of slap 😑
It would have been quite poetic if the Charcharodontosaurus came and ate the Spino's corpse at the end, completing the balance of power.

I remember watching this very video as a 9 year old. That was 11 years ago.
When ever I see a spinosaurus I think of Jurassic park 3 😆
Thats spino was freaking hybrid, and kill a T rex, Real spino are Nothing to do to Trex, Carcha dumb and not have strong bite force, but more big than T rex

The bird sounds remind me of those in Phil Tippett's Prehistoric Beast. Really nostalgic. 👌 It reminds you that dinosaurs weren't the only creatures in the Mesozoic era.
Yea, Dinosaurs weren’t the only ones. 400 M.Y.A., We had other creatures like Diplocaulus and Dimetrodon lived in the Permian, before the Triassic.
Who knows the bird name?
I actually like how they put detail into the bite when they eat like how the blood comes out when the teeth goes in it most 3d dinos short films dont have this im impressed
My bro got nerfed so much that in 2024 he looks like an elephant seal
Was that sarcasm, or do you actually think that’s what scientists think it looked like? Cuz that artwork was made by a artist, not a professional scientist

Yep. I agree ☝️
This is nostalgic cuz i use to watch this when i was young, it's nice coming back to old memories💯
People need to quit comparing T.Rex to Spinosaurus. T.Rex was not smart enough to analyze something like Spino in a fight, he would just be scared off by Spino.
"People need to stop comparing T. rex and Spinosaurus! *immediately compares T. rex to Spinosaurus*

I’d think carc would stay away from spino all things considered. Think of it like a uhhhhh well I don’t have a good example so…
I like that it isn’t a fight to the death it’s realistic in the way the two animals would rather live to fight another day then to risk it all over a corpse.
