    About Aaron Blaise:
    ============================
    Aaron Blaise is an animation feature film director and wildlife artist.
    For 21 years Aaron worked with Disney helping to create some of the greatest animated films ever made. During that time he worked as an animator or supervising animator on "The Rescuers Down Under", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", "Pocahontas", "Mulan" and more.
    In 2003 he was co-director of "Brother Bear" for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
    After "Brother Bear" he helped to develop several projects but ultimately left Disney to pursue an opportunity back home in Florida. Aaron recently served as 2D Animation Supervisor and Character Designer for the "The Bear and the Hare" an advertisement loved by millions around the world. ( • Video )

    This man is amazing. He's my role model. He said he "just spends and hour and a half on things." He doesn't brag about anything and says art tips that wouldn't be able to come out in an art video.

    This is just beautiful! I would also LOVE to A. see you doing the actual initial ink drawing and B. see much more closely and carefully how you mix your colors in the palette and also without dirtying your water colors in the top row. Even some ink drawing lessons or timed drawing together would be amazing. You're such a talented drawer and artist.

    I keep going back and forth with wanting to be an animator, every time I see your work it makes me want to do animation even more. I especially love when you show your old Disney drawings, I would love to work for Disney, it's a dream of mine.

    I have watched this 20-30 times and it still amazes me. I wish there was a prequel though explaining how you would draw when you know you are going to add a Watercolor wash over the top. It seems a very specific skill

      Pen and ink, or pen and watercolour, is very traditional. Even the great Raphael used this technique for his work.

    This video is the most inspiring and frustrating tutorial I have seen. Because if I spent hours putting watercolor over an ink drawing it would be a rippled wobbly mess and you sit there painting a masterpiece in 10 minutes. No matter what I do watercolors do not go one that easy and dry that bold. You are an actual wizard

    I've tried a couple of times to get into watercolor but get intimidated. I might try the ink drawing (w/waterproof ink of course) with watercolor over it to see if I can ease my way into understanding watercolor more. :)

    The pallet can never get too messy ;) That's like those old coals you add to in the barbecue and the not so clean grill - it just adds to the flavor.

    I wrote off water colors because it was too hard for me to be tight with it. Turns out I don't have to be! Interest renewed. Just squeeeze it out. Looking forward to your ink tutorials!
