At a concert in Boulder, Colorado in August 2019, Jon Anderson, the lead singer, stated that his inspiration for writing this song was him 'waking up' ...spiritually and literally. He said he woke up one morning to see his two eldest children, who were babies at the time, quietly sleeping and he was over awed at the wonder of life, leading him to write the song. The recording is here on You Tube.
After listening to this the world seems a brighter, more beautiful place. I only hope that Jon Andersons musical message of transcendence will help us see the infinitely wonderful story that is the human race.
This is my favorite song from my favorite YES album. A group of friends went to see them in the 90s and after the show ended and the lights came up one of the group proclaimed "That just makes you feel inadequate doesn't it?"😄 Such virtuosos!
Every song from this album (Going For The One) is perfect. I highly recommend you hear all of it. They have so much amazing stuff. Some Yes lyrics are very concrete and have very specific meaning, more or less, others are mostly abstract such as Siberian Khatru, many are halfway in-between. All of them let you use your imagination to take you wherever it takes you. Many songs are indirectly about finding and understanding god, in a non-traditional, non-specific way.
Those memories of yours, I believe we refer to those types of memories as flashbacks. lol. Great reaction. Sometimes Yes lyrics are difficult to interpret.
Very first song heard from them. That was it, fell in love with everything that surrounded Jon's voice. Ty for reaction, for me, they are the greatest band after Zep.
Yes really was an all-star band. All Virtuoso players each of who could also compose, which is unique. Each member also had a distinctive playing style and sound. Nobody sounded like howe, nobody sounded like squier, nobody sounded like wakeman, nobody sounded like Anderson. They were mature musicians because somehow they made it all work when having all that talent and ego could have easily blown up in their face. They were one of the exceptions to the old saying "you can't have too many chefs in the kitchen".
I highly recommend after maybe a couple more of their "normal length" songs that you give the monster track "Close to the Edge" a listen. There is nothing like it. My favorite piece of music ever written, and I don't say that lightly.
If you love stories... try Gates of Delerium from YES's Relayer album. It's based loosely on War and Peace and is def a trip. Studio version suggested. Cheers!
Morning has broken I believe is one of the most beautiful song of the 1970s ,. and the piano version played lately by Rick Wakeman is beautiful as well

The divinity of YES appears in many ways, but sometimes you just have to listen to wondrous stories of the divine ✨️🙏✨️

These men are top musicians. And very creative

Haha, great memories! Love that.
One of the best bands to come out of Britain 🎉🎵🎶🍯🤌🙏🐝🍀
One of the best bands to come out of this sector of the galaxy.

Thanks for sharing this. Definitely had my imagination going. That is true art!
My favourite ’short’ Yes track.
From the Fabulous Album, ‘Going For The One’.
Beautiful. 🎶❤️🎶
Rick Wakeman (keyboards) is the guy who played piano on Cat Stevens hit Morning has broken...
And played keys on Bowie's "Space Oddity." Another beautiful piano session from him is on the Al Stewart song "News from Spain."

Yes, flashbacks! Thanks!
@@SaeedReacts. I cannot watch the Yes video of their live album Yessongs without having flashbacks and not in a good way.
I hear ya! I’ve been on trips without leaving the couch with friends. And so many “wonderous stories” were told for years after.
100% . Some of these memories seem like it happened yesterday.

What a wonderous voice!

Another great song from the same album is Turn of the Century
Will add it to my list. Thanks.

I think i will follow up on that advice. Thanks!
YES! 😊
Lol…. Its funny cause I know you said you did Rosetta Stoned this week… which is the same sort of wonderful story 😂
Just told in a different way 😅. That reaction is coming tomorrow.
Lol…. Hope you remembered your lyrics for that one 😂
Or at least I hope you didn’t forget you pen 😂

Wakeman played the piano on the original recording by Cat Stevens.
@@TheRKae Right! Thanks for your note
@@orlylivne Check out Wakeman's session work on the Al Stewart song "The News from Spain." Astounding!
@@TheRKae Just listening to it. As you say : Outstanding !! Thanks for the recommendation!

Really good!
Okay Saeed .. you really , really , really need to react to "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" .. YES. It is so legendary. 🎼🩸🎼
Will add it to my list. Thanks!
Jon is talking about a Divine Being(God) telling about Wonderous Stories of Beautiful Lands(worlds) that was in God's mind.
🎶🎶👍
Back when Jon had melody in his lyrics. He lost it later on and did a lot of yell singing.
singing to a mushroom
