It brings my heart joy knowing that YES will never be lost to history with young people like you around. They are something very very special and sit on the same shelf as very few other musicians... the top shelf.
“Turn around and remember that when you’re standing tall, standing on sacred ground…” I believe he meant wherever you are and love is- THAT is sacred ground. He famously left all his lyrics up to interpretation by the listener. Very wise man indeed. We love him, he loves us. Great reactions, sir. You are a true YES understander and appreciater like so many of us.
❤❤❤Love this song!!! Love the writer of this song. Jon Anderson. Love this message of the song......Love the musicians in this song!!!❤❤❤ This one is for you!!! Remember!!!❤❤❤
I love your appreciation for good music! Yes broke ground in so many ways. One of my favorites too! I've seen them in concert 3 times and each time it was like a spiritual experience.
I just discovered your reaction videos and yes the YES ones. I'm 67, I was 13 listening to yes on a record in my bedroom in the basement. But you had to get p to move the needle for repeat. I'm impressed at my early sophistication in music. I've seen all what you present but when alive lol. Also, your reactions are so uncontrived.
This is the most spiritual song I've ever heard. Just another masterpiece from the greatest band ever! YES!!!🤩You should do 'Dreamtime' from the 'Magnification' album too.
That was for me with Awaken a close second. I don't think CttE was just their greatest accomplishment, to me it's the greatest song ever written.@@arpeggioblues5924
This has become one of my top 10 favorites. It just elevates you to a higher level. YES is the best. This whole concert is really good especially with the symphony. I wonder who wrote the music for the orchestra. There's a nice shorter song you can do: "Don't Kill the Whale". It was the first YES song I played for my girlfriend and she became hooked on YES after that. She loves animals and couldn't believe there was a band singing about saving the whales.
Larry Groupé wrote the orchestral composition and arrangements, and conducted the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on the album. Live, they picked up local orchestras. It was a great tour, seeing the smiles on the player's faces to play YES music was priceless! Best to you, John!
Symphonic Yes Live is the best dvd ever made. Close To The Edge, Ritual, Gates Of Delirium, all with this great orchestra should be the best dvd in any collection. Yes at their best, live.
I saw this tour live in Nottingham, UK. I was disappointed they didn't play "Gates of Delirium", they were only playing that every second date on the tour for some reason But "Ritual" was unbelievable, the best I've heard of any song Yes have performed live. ITPO was also great.
You would love all the pieces featured on this Symphonic Live DVD, either for reactions or just to enjoy on your own. Thanks for watching Yes. Always been my favorite group.
An album you’ve only played one song from so far is KeyStudio, the song Mind Drive. The next song from it I think you’d like is That That Is; thanks in advance.
Written by late drummer Alan White, In The Presence touches your soul. I got to talk to him once about that song and he said he wrote it in the middle of the night. Only goes to show that some of the greatest ideas truly come to you in the middle of the night, but most of us forget them by morning. By the way this is off Magnification, my favorite Yes album of all time. I HIGHLY recommend the title track. It’s stellar!
@@playlistmaker90125 Magnification is indeed magnificent. If it weren't for Topographic Oceans, Hold Your Fire, In This Skin, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, and Power Windows, Magnification would be my favorite album too.
If you want to hear YES today, check out Jon Anderson with The Band Geeks. They sound almost as good as 70s YES sounded. Almost as good, which is way better than what the current lineup of the band that calls themselves YES sounds like. Hope you check them out. ARW is worth checking out too. They were great, and I'm shocked they didn't stay together (ARW - Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman)
Turn around and remember … was the words we put on my dads funeral pamphlet or whatever you call it. It’s important, Yes is important, they shaped my perspective. He asked for those words at his service.
I’m not gonna lie…I bought this DVD and I was so enamored with in the presence of. And I was soooooooo disappointed by the sloppy play of the drummer. It was so embarrassing I lasted about 20-30 seconds IF that. Just such a black mark on anything Yes- Live. It’s a common theme. Sloppy. However..the song points so vividly to Non-Duality. I would’ve done better and that’s saying something

Personally, I think "Awaken" was the most spiritual, but "close to the edge" is revered as their greatest accomplishment world wide.

Yes the greatest band
Great song!
Check out Anderson /Geeks do an all YES show. It is very impressive. They are on tour and I will see them 5/12
YES is always the Answer when Reviewing Yes, so no apologies to those who do not have the ability to receive it....

Don't ya just LOVE Jon Anderson :) Happy 50th anniversary of "CLOSE TO THE EDGE" !!!
I just saw him perform this past May, and he was incredible! He sounded beautiful and doesn't appear to have lost his range or his heart!

To Jon, the sailing ship is Mother Earth. Love is what matters, and he teaches me this over and over. And, the sun is life. ☮️❤️

The Six Wives of Henry VIII - Rick Wakeman
It is unreal.
