I'm a Stars fan so seeing somebody talk about the stars success is refreshing. Next season Dallas is going to have over half of their active roster being from the draft (4 of 6 defensemen 6 of 12 forwards and starting goalie all being drafted)
Glad to see this. As a Texan hockey fan (not a Stars fan, but they're still one of my favourite teams) it's wonderful to know that I can always trust them to be competitive, and I think more teams should emulate their deep drafting strategy in builing their team up.
As a Stars fan, this draft completely revitalize our franchise because I felt like we had really gotten stagnant after 2016. Don't get me started about Kari Lehtonen in Game 7. But, this was awesome to see how this team had developed into a Cup contender again. I just don't think we can win a cup with Peter DeBoer as the head coach and I miss the Big Rig Jamie.
Excellent video. Scouting and coaching staff are crucially important parts when building champion team. Reminds me of Eichel situation in Sabres. Didn't get the surgery he wanted for his knee(?), so he went and got it in Vegas, grew up to be team player and is now SC champion.
Among the very best newish hockey channels. The topics are nicely chosen, it all looks and sounds professional and the analysis is interesting. I would propose to tap in the Pittsburgh situation some time soon, either as "Will they do anything worth a damn by sticking with the Big 3?" (+ Karlsson) OR give your take on whether or not Crosby will beat Gretzky's record by having a 20th straight season over 1 p.p.g.
If the Stars' FO remain disciplined w/contracts, lock up RFAs below market (like they did on Heiskanen's deal) & UFAs sacrifice just a little bit to keep the band together, this team can become a perennial JUGGERNAUT as they have all the ingredients for a legit dynasty.
As a Stars fan the term "Regression" in relation to the Offensive production of Miro and Jason is flawed and is missing key piece context, but when you do a acknowledge the fact the 2023-2024 Stars were a team who priortized more team success over players' individual success noted by the team motto that year "a little less for a lot more" it will lead you to why it happened that way
I'd have to find something interesting about them because I'll be honest they're a pretty boring team. I did make a Shane Wright video recently though.
@@HecticHockey how Craig berube could be compared to pat Quinn with the toughness he brings to the team and what the future could look like with the young players we have

Yet the Dallas Stars have won only one Stanley Cup in their entire 57 years of existence (including their time as the Minnesota North Stars). So it would stand to reason that since you love making videos about the failures of NHL franchises, you would also do one about Dallas. That’s of course if you were an unbiassed reporter. @Joe_Ma99 They do when you look at who and how. Dallas is a strong team, but cannot be better than "okay".
