This is such a good idea to buy and process fish/meat for a lawful (no stealing/murder) playthough!!! how TF did i not think of this?

It is super helpful and very convenient! All credit goes to Hectic Nasari for discovering it!

In my playthroughs of the valley map, I would hunt Vison, Deer, and Moose, and set up hunting shacks to gather and dry meat, and then I would sell the dried meat. That would provide me with enough money to be able afford just about anything I needed. I love that your guide shows how good it is to dry and sell all that fish. Super effective!

Glad you like it and I hope it helped! Dried meat is a good seller, that and all the simple bags from all the leather!

Torches scare wolves away if you swing them at the wolves when they run at you.

lol! I was curious if you were going to have some critiques on this one! All in good fun. I always appreciate your insights and you’ve helped me to get to a point that I feel I can deliver good info.
Is it the best? Pretty darn good, maybe not perfect (wolves eating me and all 😂😂) but I think this will help springboard some players! Worked well for me (not that I got the x-bow that early though!)
      Thank you, as always!

@@KeenFool I mean its easy to critique after the fact, would say I would do some things differently if it was my video to make. I do understand why you did what you did and It does give you a good start. but if you was trying to minmax....I would say that you kept to much stuff on you when you left to go get stuff, why is that also you spent cash you did not have to as I'm sure you know when to get a large backpack for free (well I don't know if you made the video before you found out) so the only thing thing you had to buy really was the large pouch. I know you don't like the bow so ok get the recurve bow that is about 1k coins so all you need to do is, sell the oil, bow all the wood and stone tools and weapons. Do the fish trick as you call it, get the large pouch and the recurve bow also honeycombs as much as you can afford, use this instead of the stamina potions for the ruining from POI to POI keep the potions for cutting trees and mining. I would head to the south POI first and get the poison arrows for the bear(s) that's around the river where the free Large backpack is waiting, don't forget to take all the quest you can do off the board when your leaving town when you clear of the broken down windmill and you are now heading for the large backpack keep popping the honeycombs and you can out run anything when you get the backpack you hit the POIs from the one with the crossbow coming back west, you forgot the fishing POI up there and you could also use the village up north to sell stuff if/when you get overweight, restock up on your honeycombs as well, also pick up the story quest one time as your up there then with your low weight head down south hit the swamp and the other POIs on the west of the river on your way back down any meat you get if you have to drop it because of weight please cook it before you do so you get the crafting skill and tech points. Remember when you plan to drop stuff drop it close to somewhere you will pass again like on the road between two villages or close to the fast travel points or even by where outcast have there camps.
Lastly I would not buy the wood or straw its nice if this was a game with a speed run feature I would just try to remember to pick straw till I'm almost encumbered and cut down maples do you know how much points you just robbed yourself from getting both skills and tech. The game is designed for you to grind, the only time you should really do something like that is if you took a quest and its the last day and you cant finish before season change at 11:59pm then or if you trying to get rep and you don't have the tech yet to make bronze tools situations like that.... hehehe.
Now tell me how you would improve on my run, cheers.

@@douanejohn1037 That all sounds pretty darn good. You are absolutely right about the overload. I could have dropped a lot of that earlier and would have been happy. I’m a pack rat…what can I say!
I chose to buy the backpack rather than grab it so I could max out my carry right off the start. Waiting would have worked, just need to take out a bear. Not bad…some newbies might not be ready for that just yet. Not that they can’t handle it. That’s a lot of ground to cover! I want to try that out now. I thought that would be too far to go with all the other things to do…I could be wrong!
As for the tech, yes. I should have done a couple of things I look back and think differently about…should have roasted up them meats! That and crafting the bags! As for the tech points for the wood, I can see that. I just want to avoid the tree chopping a bit. So many trees to chop…
Thanks for the alternative and the fun considering the other best ways. You got me beat by a couple thousand coin if the timing works out!

To experience how tough the Oxbow can be play with these rules: no stealing, no buying weapons only crafting weapons. Then when the wolf howls a chill will go down your spine. Yes the game can be beat quickly. But if you want to feel what the authentic life of a pioneer on the frontier was like stay away from cheeses like fast crafting and fast building. This is fantasy.

    • @KeenFool
      @KeenFool  4 месяца назад

So true! The way I am playing, and the way a lot of the game runs, gets very much fantasy and has a lot of liberties for make the game more comfortable. I love your idea of playing a more real and hardcore version!

No shade on your YT at all. These games are versatile and can be played many ways. I also play Ironman. Like real life. So believe me it is tense. Oxbow is much more difficult than the original. But I know every tree and bush in the original so I play Oxbow.

@@BiNumLi all good and I love your style! It sounds intense and the progression of time for your style is much more realistic! It would also be way more intense hearing a wolf call knowing how much time has gone into your work and it’s all or nothing. Wild! Also awesome.
