- Using our Miller Industries, Century 1150R rotator on a Peterbilt 389X chassis 50 ton 5 winch rotator to "fish" a Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins diesel, and all the driver's tools, out of a creek after the driver went through the guard rail. Then we roll it while it's on the bridge and load it onto our Ford with Century LCG12 unit #14. Thankfully, the driver survived with minimal injuries. Hope you enjoy!!! This video is quite long for my viewers who like the longer videos. Please SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

Good to hear that the driver only had minor injuries after this wild ride. But, it appears that he had plenty of RAM but not enough Dodge!
Random access memory? 🤣
@@bradschuh4618 no ram as in dodge ram the truck that got pulled out

Ron you and Mike are a true team of professionals when it comes to difficult recoveries !!
Ron: "Mike you need a little help with that tag line?"
Firefighters: grabs the line.
Teamwork it's so awsome.
This kind of teamwork comes from mutual respect and training together.
Thanks for writing this, @M Rett, you said it better than I could.
Agreed. Ron has done at least a couple of videos showing how his crew and emergency services get together and do some drills. What goes around comes around and Ron has always been incredibly courteous and respectful with the police and fire fighters on any scene. He is often checking to see if what he is going to do is okay with them and even offering to go the extra step for them as well. In fact he is incredibly laid back on most, if not, all of the runs is when a potential safety issue comes up
Talk about geometry and physics…. Perhaps a bit of exposure to real life applications such as this at an earlier age with fourth graders and then again jr high and again more complicated for high schoolers to problem solve lift and turn and all that your doing here and so many other wrecks
Perhaps if there were ever a way to get your rigging and such out to a visually hands on to understand it all not too many can grasp the need except for this kind of application. I know geometry made more sense with billiards and the power of the hit and the angles needed. Block and tackle only made sense when using it to make lifting bales of hay to the hay loft.
Kids like my (now grown, 31) son… needed real life applications for everything the teachers tried getting him to care about learning. I say give my kid scale to size building or replicating. Let him measure 📐 and draw out to scale a part of the school building or teach lids how to cut and build real size small buildings. But schools keep trying to teach from a book and lectures. Apprenticeships is needed with younger kids. But programs are desperately needed in the communities, and real working people are needed in getting kids taught skills that will never be learned from a book.
Love all the team work to get it all done.
I’d sure like to see a visual walk through of the accident area along verbal explanation of how in the heck that truck went so far and the driver didn’t end up in ICU and in a body cast, let alone survived. And all that loose gear that was all potential projectiles and that it all ended up staying with the truck.
Fire departments sure have huge responsibilities beyond the flames 🔥 of life saving.
It’s incredible all the cross training a fire department has under such a basic title that means so much more. I’m grateful in so many ways just the few times my family needed them and once me using their can opener of the car I was in when a lady blew through her stop sign and knocked me hard enough Mt car jumped the ditch and I missed getting wrapped around the large country road power pole and a 6x6” road sign post. Crazy how life changes directions in less than a blink.
Has made me look at cars differently, as in while I walk away from an accident.
Ron, its always a pleasure working with you. Even being on 2 different Fire Departments, you always show up quick, get the job done quick, and as always very professional and sincere. I'll see you on the next one partner!
Mike is a trooper and a HUGE asset to your company.
The whole crew would be great people to work with.
ya irreplaceable.
Mike's a very worker. Hope you took him out for a bite to eat after?
I agree.
Mike is like the Energizer Bunny… he’s going to go very far in the Towing/Recovery business!
Meanwhile, someone who use to be a contractor, I can't help but feel for the guy & his tools that are his lively hood, I hope he is OK. Thanks for your safe work guys!
I know it’s a god given miracle he survived. most of Ron’s videos are the driver went to the hospital with injuries but for most of em I feel they recovered and are back on their feet. This is a different story minor injuries a couple of prayers and some recovery time the guy that drove the dodge Cummins will be back to normal. Good job Ron and Midwest truck for being there wether or not the dispatching agency requires you to run code or not y’all do a fantastic job god bless all of you.
Awesome , My wife says I talk in my sleep , but I’m skeptical, nobody at work has ever mentioned it. 😀 Thanks Ron
It always amazes me how gently you treat every vehicle, even when it's obviously going to be headed to a junkyard.
An amazing job as always, and a joy to watch you work, Ron.
There are a lot of good reasons to be careful not to further damage the wrecked vehicle when removing from a wreck scene beyond simple curtesy to the owner of the vehicle. Part of that has to do with not wanting to have lose parts falling off the vehicle he’d have to go back and pick afterwards, especially in a creek with water. He also doesn’t want to damage the roadway, Guard rails or the bridge. Also, insurance issues with the damaged vehicle and/or police crash investigation issues (I.e. the vehicle is or has within evidence of a crime yet to be collected/documented) come into play. Thus I’d expect that he is careful with even very damage wrecks as much as he can be until he gets the all clear that the vehicle can be sent off the wrecking yard. Finally, safety plays a roll as removing the vehicle safety requires rigging the cables/chains to it in such a way the won’t further damage the vehicle a lot assuming it not stuck somehow in something like a tree, another vehicle, guard rail, etc. and has to be ripped out by force and even then he’s careful with the vehicle when hoisting it onto the flatbed of the tow truck.
I wouldn’t want to have to pay that insurance claim. It’s a miracle that nobody was killed.
Yeah I like seeing that. I do the same. A lot of other companies they don’t care
Good morning everyone who’s watching hope you have a great weekend and good bless everyone!
Who ever was driving the pickup is a very lucky person! His guardian angels were working hard!
51:08, now that the easy part is done, time to clean out the creek....I was lost in physics class till we got to pulleys. My college prof wanted to know how I knew so much about that when I had been lost up until then. I explained that having done towing and recovery work for 2 years on heavy stuff gave me a pretty good idea how to figure line load and angles of force. Plus, when we snap a cable, BAD things usually happen. After that, I became his pet project. I got a C for the course, not bad when 20% of the class failed !!! GOOD JOB GUYS.
The driver sustained only minor injuries. One lucky person. Good to see the fire department, Mike, and you remained safe during the lift of this heavy diesel truck. Thank you for what you and the Midwest Team do for Scott City and surrounding communities. Always stay safe and God’s blessings to you and the Midwest Team.
Ron: "The safest way possible" Mike: laughter........ these two at work..... funny to watch XD
It's funny because they work so well together.
I love how the firemen respect y'all and how you and Mike work.. Mike is a true asset to Midwest Towing..
or the alternative conversation about 5 mins
Ron ' guess what i forgot ?? '
Mike ' waders ?? '
Ron ( sounding confused ) ' no , that's why you're here '
LOL....that's funny right there... Thanks for watching and God bless.
@@RonPratt .. thanks , stay safe all of you

Another great job Ron and Mike! Mike is such a hard worker, need more people like him!
"Mike, we need a tag line" ... how about "and they lived happily ever after"
I love watching Mike and Ron work together. They are a real team.
Had yourself a good one there Ron! only thing missing was the overhead powerlines and pouring rain. Can't believe the ride the driver took and thank the stars he got out with very minor injuries.
I was concerned when I saw the hole in the windshield. Seems small for him to get out through it. Could be an example of why not to have heavy tools in your cabin.
I was going to get some sleep (11PM over here), so Ron had to release a new video. So here I am.
Love the night recovery, especially when someone has to go fishing.
Mike is a great coworker for u. U give him a big thank u
Love the title. Fishin in the dark by nitty gritty dirt band came to mind lol
That's where I got the idea for the title. Used to love that song. Your earworm for the day...LOL. Thanks for watching and God bless.
@@RonPratt that still to this day is one of my favorite songs. And always enjoy watching your videos. If I ever break down in your area (let's hope I dont) I will for sure push to have you come rescue me. Keep safe doing what you do. You're job is alot more challenging than me driving up and down the road
Holy moly!
Thanks to you all. All the emergency lighting that we install on our units is Feniex. We can't control what the factory installs, but we install your lights and absolutely LOVE them. We have 3 arrow boards with mixture of red/white, blue/white, amber/white and they have made a world of difference in the way traffic reacts while we are on the interstate. Thanks and God bless.
@@RonPratt It's an honor, Ron! We're big fans and are proud to be a part of your story.
I've always give truckers respect and room for the road because they are like trying to stop a train.
Wow! Ron, you and Mike work like a well oiled machine! I am so enjoying your videos, your work and how you explain everything all the way down to all crash victims🙏👍
I think You should make Mike a bo'sun chair. So you can hoist him up and over or down... just a thought!
That would be neat thing to do. But would Ron then need to dispatch 2 rotators?
OSHA would love that!
When I worked industrial maintenance OSHA required our man baskets to be weight tested prior to each use. Company policy was no bosun chairs. Don’t know how osha stands on that.
I appreciate your attention to clearing the extra debris - many wouldn't bother.
Ron and Mike really are best example of team work,, and a little humor makes the job a little lighter.
Great example of teamwork, between you guys and the Fire Dept.
Good lighting makes the job a "little" easier.
As always very technical. Having taught math and physics for many years I really like that line about not using it at least thinking you’ll never use it. I am really surprised that the county or state or city which ever owns the bridge does not have some people there because it looked to me like that at least the railing was damaged. Here Maryland the bridge would be closed and engineers would come out and check it. Great team job as always.
The bridge was pretty much closed with all that lot on it. It really needed to stay open, if structurally safe enough, until all the emergency crews were clear. I wonder if they closed it after that, waiting for an engineer/inspector in daylight.
Mr Ron I love how professional you and your crew are. Excellent recovery. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Good Morning Mike and Ron. Happy to see a nice catch and keep fishing trip!
I've watched a lot of your videos Ron, and you are amazing and this episode shows you to be no less amazing!! I hope you and your team will always be safe.
Ron, Mike and 1st responders great teamwork👍👍👍👍🤔
Good morning Mike and Ron thank you for a great video of a job well done
Morning Ron I love the way the dashboard lights up. Awesome job
You have to appreciate Mike's enthusiasm & positive attitude.
Good morning prays for all involved have a bless day
Good call keeping off the bridge deck. Even directly over the abutment, at least one end of the deck will usually be on some sort of floating bearing (e.g. rollers or Teflon pads), so may move under abnormal horizontal loads.
Nicely done for an usual and tricky job. It must have been quite a ride going down.
mike is a very good worker
Amazing the driver is still alive. I'm sure he/she will be happy to have the tools. Truck is totaled, but it did its job and kept him/her alive. Great job. Big shout out to Mike.
Thanks for Helping taking care of the Environment. You have to Wonder🤔what Driver was doing.
Talking to yourself is no problem. It's when you start answering back you need to worry!
LesD9 Oh I don't know about that. Sometimes I get some really great answers.
I'd be more concerned about having an argument with yourself and losing. ;-)
Only if you give yourself the wrong answer. Lol
The Rotator is the fishing pole, the Rolloff is the creel for taking home the catch. Good job Guys!
1.25 million dollar fishing pole😂
Hmmm....Deep fried Ram. What kinda sauce u serve with that? 30w motor oil? 40w?
It's already " battered"! LOL
Wow Morning Ron.
Mike is a really good guy.
I like Mike and know he will go far with MWT.
I think He deserves a raise.
Watching Ron from the hotel on a road trip. Makes my day🤗. Ron, I was close to you a couple of weeks ago but didn’t have any free time until Saturday morning and I didn’t think you would be there so I’ll try and catch you the next time I’m over that way. A group of us were at the Vietnam wall in Perryville. Amazing place and nice little town.
Another great job Ron and Mike.
Stay safe and God bless. Dan
an amazing job done
how are you doing hun
Mike is such an asset. High five 🙌 to him. That driver had a fleet of guardian angels with him. Impressive work men.
Good job Mike!!
Just 6 minutes into the video, and the level of teamwork and communication is awesome! Gotta love it when folks all respect each other and know how to work to everyone's strengths :) Compared to here in Arkansas, where things can seem like a nightmare......
Thank The Lord every night for Mike!!!🙏
Good morning ! Stay safe
Good morning!
Sad to see a person’s whole life destroyed in a split second. Prayers for this family🙏🙏
Just goes to show you that if you take the right gear with you that you can catch something big when you go fishing. Another awesome video.
🐸 it's a beautiful day... stay safe.
Good morning Ron and the boys. very good video this week. wow that's crazy to see the results of that wreck. very nice teamwork guys. keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work. keep recovering. tow on. keep making. god bless.
Elegantly done, gentlemen. Kudos.

Ron, I bet when you were a kid- and went to the carnival, you were really good at the CRANE GRAB game.. or those little box games in some stores.. with the little cranes in them.. :)
He hasn't lost one yet and I doubt he lost many as a kid. Phrase "wiz kid" comes to mind.
Mike deserves a bonus in his next check! He really did a good job. He is quite the worker.
44:45 "I was talking to myself." Sometimes you just need an intelligent conversation.
Or a conversation with the most intelligent person that I know
You need to supply Mike with a head lamp so he doesn't have to hold a flashlight in his mouth.
Maybe he likes it that way. I'm sure he probably has a few and would use them if he wanted to. Just saying.
@@Madison.CRUZ. You may like holding a flashlight in your mouth while standing on a wrecked pickup truck down in a creek but I doubt the rest of us do.
16:03 “whatya dOOOoooo!” 😂
Love watching both of you working together!
"the driver survived with minimal injuries", THANK YOU SEAT BELTS AND AIRBAGS!
On this instance, the driver was not wearing a seat belt, however the airbags for sure kept him inside of the vehicle.
Another shot in the dark, well done. Great team work.

"What'd you doooooo?" 😆
Sorry Ron, but that cracked me up! Amazing, careful and meticulous work as always 🤙🏽

Always good to watch Ron with the first cup of coffee in the morning.Thank you for a great video😊Fremont Michigan
Give Mike his own “tator”, if you have enough business!
In my youth we had a bridge that was fully safe for what it was designed for when they replaced it so they could take school buses across but it would move when I rode a bicycle across it.
Mike is the gofer. He earns his keep for sure. Thanks for what you do with the videos Ron. Teaches us new techniques every time
Mike is one darn good worker. In all of your videos I've never once heard him complain about anything. 👍🏼
Great job accomplished Ron and Mike ....👍👏
Amazing!!! Well Done...
The driver was blessed to escape with only minor injuries.
Good job, guys. Teamwork is the best work. :-)
Good morning to you and Mike .You guys make a great team
Ron this was a well executed piece of work, and you made it look easy. GOOD JOB 💖💖🇦🇺
It's amazing that the driver had only minor injuries considering how far the truck went and where it ended up.
Yes, a testament to passenger safety engineering, yet many still complain how easy vehicles damage easily.
What an amazing tow truck, never seen anything like it, beautiful. You men do hard work but help others. A lot of skill you and your partners have working all this equipment. Think this guy in red truck was driving waaaaaaaay too fast. Thanks Fire Dept.` great guys and respectful of each other.
That's as good of a recovery as I've ever seen. Very very fluid operation and you definitely know what you're doing. I've seen lots of other wrecker towing and recovery outfits to damage to the bridge to their equipment and to the damage vehicle. You guys were very clean. Congratulations. Well done.
Can't find a Holmes tree, I guess a Holmes bridge will have to do.
You and Mike work together so well. Thank you for being so considerate and kind to your employees. Wish more people were like you!! Good Job.

at least you got the ram by the horns
That ram went for a wild ride. But kudos to it for not transferring all that collision energy to the occupants. And all those items being adjacent to the pickup tells me that load was well secured.
Tator Fishin! Always fun watching the Tator work!
Good Job to everyone that did the work of getting it out of the river 👍🏼👍🏼🙂
The two things that are necessary to be successful at this type of work are years of experience and equally as important communicating with others on site. The right personality goes a long way. And Ron does it right.
