Rain showers are almost a daily event but only last for 5-10 minutes and then the sun is back. Many passing showers you can literally drive from dry to rain in the dividing line in some places. Only time you should worry about the rain is during a hurricane or tropical storm cause it may rain all day.

Thanks for the video Carol and Chris. It brought good memories from my first visit to DR in 1995. The huts look the same but there weren't sun beds at that time. We went on small 8/10 persons boats and even at high season there weren't that many people. We had a sunny day at Isla Saona but when we were coming back the weather started to get worst. Just when we were leaving the natural pools a big storm come with pouring rain. On the small boat we only had the beach towels to protect from the rain and we got to the bus completely soaked.
I was there last week as well as in the natural pool with the starfishes. Wonderful! We were not able to enjoy the beach in Punta Cana due to the seaweed
I hope the next video is doing that $200 chopper ride or something like that??? I’m sure Carol would love that 💅🏻😃 I appreciate your content and breaking down costs to help us plan our travels, but I think it would be fun to occasionally show us the two of you splurging on a romantic dinner made by a local renowned chef or perhaps staying at a luxury hotel for one night. I’m all about adventuring, exploring, and backpacking on a budget, but sometimes it’s nice to rest at a spa after all the hikes and adventures, and I’d love to see how much it costs to do the occasional “luxury” splurge in other countries.
Saona sure changed a lot over the years. In the past when i went there there was nothing at all. It looked like a real paradise :) It is still beautiful but a bit too crowdy . I remember swimming there and there was a lot of coral.
I was there 3 weeks ago,i paid $85 USA.....by helicopter is $300 per person......you want something different go to Jarabacoa,is a town in the mountains, very beautiful
As you can see, the trip to Isla Saona is worth it and definitely a highlight during your vacation in the Dominican Republic. Having said this, Isla Saona is amazing and is definitely worth a day trip.

That was quite the large Island and a short drone deal? guess with the rain and maybe the service dropping you could of lost it. The boat ride looked fun but then I don't like crowds of people. You must go to Bahía de las Águilas, it is located in the South of the Country, close to Haití, it is an unspoiled paradise with a different kind of beaches.
You missed one. Monte Cristi Dominican Republic. Theres a boat tour that takes you a sand sand with shops and little stores. Its surrounded by the ocean.

You should visit Cayo Arena if you are still in the Dominican Republic, it is an island in the north of the country with amazing waters
Coming from a tropical country myself, I've never really considered visiting the Caribbean, but Dominican Republic sure looks amazing.

I did this tour as well and paid a bit extra to get a much less busy beach and everybody could find there own bit of deserted beach.
