Unknown Shark in Lake Macquarie NSW

  • on jet ski early morning seen fin heading from Bolton Point towards Toronto
    originally thought it was a hammer head but got a glimpse of head and no hammer
    showed a few fisho mates and they believe its a bronze whaler

    I would guess with the speed, agility and fin that that is probably a hammerhead. I love sharks, totally geeky about them.

      that's what I originally thought as well till I seen head shape, after showing a few fishos at work they believe its a bronze whaler

    Looking at that dorsal fin, it's most certainly a bull shark

    Wheres this mate? I live on the water at coal point and iv never seen one here but on our boat on Saturday and we saw a hammerhead about 1000m out from Belmont yacht club about 2m long. Is the best place to find them by the powerstation?? Thinking of going shark spotting at the weekend haha. (I'm a pommie who moved out here 15 months ago so still discovering the lake!)

      Just off bolton point
      I launched at croudace bay and headed over towards toronto

      @@broadysadventuresdownunder is this a freshwater lake? I am not familiar with lake Mac but I can probably identify your shark.

      Its salt its the largest coastal lake in east coast of Australia it joins the ocean
