Just a few years ago in the US Kia had the identity of a cheap budget brand with a hideous logo. I’ve been saying for years that they need to get rid of that logo, and when they finally did they had already been releasing beautiful new designs for a few years. Kia is finally becoming more and more of a respectable, sought after brand that exudes confidence and high quality.
@@wooyoung2154 Thanks for your question, it is still possible to drive but only in certain states though. Here in Queensland at the moment we can travel anywhere in Queensland. Other states like New South Wales and Victoria where they are in lockdown no you can’t drive anywhere you want, only allowed to go get groceries, medical supplies, go to the doctor etc. if anyone comes over the border from NSW or Victoria they have to go into Quarantine for 14 days if they are allowed in. Queensland have brought in the army to help the police stop people trying to cross into our borders illegally. Pretty full on, never been like this before!

I love the flat matte! I've always thought it would look great on a car and that it does. Some idiot just totaled my 2015 Sedona and I've got a 2018 Sportage as a rental. It's nice but it's a bit too small for me. This however looks baaaad asss! I'm about to buy a black 2022 Sorento hybird... wish I could get it in matte. Kia is killing it on the design front. I never thought I'd buy a Kia (let alone brand new) and now I'm on my 3rd. My wife drives a 2019 Niro. We're Kia fans!
@@CarSceneKorea, oh yes, the EV6 is very tempting. If it weren't for my two growing boys I would have absolutely waited for the EV6. But I need a family vehicle so it's the Sorento for now. But one of these days I'll be looking for something smaller. Interested to see where we're at in 10 years.
wow, Wow, WOW!! Love this new Sportage! If Kia puts out Hybrid and PHEV versions of this vehicle with AWD, they will have a sure winner that will smoke their competitors.
The problem with the gloss cladding is it will become easily scratched from road grit, snow slush and the like…very impractical and will look bad in a short period of time. As an aside, I’m pretty sure this vehicle will mark the death knell for the Sorento.
It's a shame that Hyundai and Kia are ditching their diesel power units. The price of petrol is high in the UK, and the petrol MPG is poor due to the vehicle size :( Even the Tucson Hybrid (yet to be released here) gives poor MPG for a hybrid.

Sportage probably costs fortune as well. Kia needs to price down its cars. Like I was interested in stinger but I realize that base price starts around $40,000 CAD. I am Korean and I tend to lean toward on my country's brand but the recent models have been way pricey making me unwant. I am sure a lot of Koreans feel the same as well.
I just got one of these, but without that ShadowMatte color...I decided to go with Gravity Gray since I read some reviews regarding the quality & longevity of the Matte color over the long run.
I wonder with all those electrically control switches next to the cup holders, it would get shorted or rusted after a few years of ownership. I am not a fan of that camera view at that location while the turning signal is engaged. It can be distracting and cause an accident. Your eyes are needed more in front of the hood than it would be on the side of the car.
I so envy you guys that you get to have the LWB version. We in Europe can only buy the SWB one, which in my opinion seems to be unfinished in the C-pillar area. I'd buy the LWB Sportage in a heartbeat.
This is a gorgeous futuristic looking car. Only dumb thing is putting high gloss black on the wheel fender wells and bottom of the car. First thing I’d do if I bought it is wrap them in matte black/plasti-dip or something because they can’t stay clean looking like that. Everything else is thoughtful. That dash is beautiful!

I would like to see matte wheel trim along with matte on the outside of bottom side doors since that gloss gets too dirty in Colorado, it would be a pain to always keep clean with the gloss trim on those winter months. I hope you have an option for mud flaps to protect the corner wheel rims from splashing onto a gloss bottom trim door panel. LOL BUT I DIGRESS. Love the LOOK 👀 very NICE❣️😎

Never a fan of Kia but really like this Sportage. Would buy and try out first Kia but 6.4" to 6.8" ground clearance killed my thought as I go off pavement a lot. Btw, that passenger seat control button on the side is a bad idea, especially if you have annoying kids, friends, or even pets.

The only things I don’t like about this car are the piano black design (gets very dirty really easily) and the fact that there aren’t physical buttons apart from the ones to adjust the temperature… I can only think about how messy it would be if for any reason any of all of those screens broke or malfunctioned and you were in the middle of nowhere 🤔

Never a fan of Kia but really like this Sportage. Would buy and try out first Kia but 6.4" to 6.8" ground clearance killed my thought as I go off pavement a lot. Btw, that passenger seat control button on the side is a bad idea, especially if you have annoying kids, friends, or even pets.

The Telluride needs an interior redesign. Strange that the sportage gets the full digital display and not their flagship 3 row suv.

Love that colour, isn’t available in the UK unfortunately
The only things I don’t like about this car are the piano black design (gets very dirty really easily) and the fact that there aren’t physical buttons apart from the ones to adjust the temperature… I can only think about how messy it would be if for any reason any of all of those screens broke or malfunctioned and you were in the middle of nowhere 🤔
Not as extreme as Tucson though, but given the technology and design being mixed up together, those touch-screens seem inevitable 😥
@@CarSceneKorea Yeah I know 🥲 Here in Europe there are brands that still make cars with physical buttons but they are either too expensive or they don’t offer what Kia and Hyundai have when it comes to design, eco alternatives, price and quality…

Any idea about time needed for 0-100km/h with this gasoil engine (150cv?) ?
The numbers are 8, 9 and 10. 0 to 100 km/h: 8 sec for HEV, 9 sec for Diesel, 10 sec for Gasoline. Thanks for the compliment, comments like yours mean a lot, thx!
