not only you I always get yeeted by tiger or panther lol the front armor is weak, but this tank has stabilizers so you have a chance to shoot faster than your enemies
The Sherman is a tank that is pretty mediocre at everything besides having a stabilizer and quick turret rotation, so it’s best to read any situation and react accordingly. If someone is holding an angle on you, don’t challenge them - you practically have no armor so you’ll likely not bounce the shell. It is more suitable to flank the tank holding the angle because more times than not, they’re slower than you and most likely won’t expect it. Be a surgeon: your gun isn’t bad but it isn’t good either. So you have to know where to aim. Shoot at weak spots such as the turret mantlet or flat armor on tanks. If you don’t feel comfortable hitting a weak spot or if that weak spot isn’t possible to hit without bouncing, almost always go for a barrel shot to disable them from firing back at you and proceed to take the tank out from a different angle. Your gun isn’t the best for long range combat but it can perform that way under certain circumstances. If a target is at long range and they’re frontal armor is facing you DO NOT shoot at them. You could risk giving up your position to other players that may be looking your way. You will dominate on closer range flaps because it is much easier to pick out a tanks weak spot and pull off flanks and you have one of the shortest reloads for medium tanks at your BR. I suggest playing around your teammates because they will help you if you are nearby. Because the Sherman does not especially stand out in any aspect, it is important to play with your team because they will cover your flanks and mistakes. The Shermans were made to be mass produced so they work better in numbers. One thing I did forget to mention was to abuse the hull down position as often as you can. Since the Sherman is tall you can shoot over some landscapes or structures that most other tanks can’t. Just in case it’s hard to remember all of this here are your main takeaways. - Play with your team - Do not rush - Be stealthy - Aim for weak spots - Force close range engagements - Utilize the element of surprise whenever you can. - Don’t hesitate to reposition if necessary I believe if you follow most, if not all of these criteria you’ll find at least some success with the Sherman 76s. P.S. I would most definitely focus on reload for crew skills so you can reload your already fast reloading gun as quickly as possible.
