You didn't steal anything. Brush loading has been around for years. You are an Indredible artist. Don't let the idiots dim your light. Thanks for sharing your style, sense of expression and indecisiveness. Keeping it real. I appreciate you so much.
OMW Julia, watch out for the TROLLS!! I love your signature style of blending the colours with your strokes on the canvass. Brush strokes etc is not the exclusive property of any other artist......... Unfortunately, trolling has become a thing for keyboard warriors. The trick is to totally ignore them... Hopefully they go looking for another target 😁
After you put the white in on the left side of the painting, I was thinking a little light turquoise on the right side-😂and you said “a little turquoise on this side”…this gives me hope for my own paintings-I’m thinking like Julie! 😊 Please oh please keep doing these thought process videos-so helpful!!!
You definitely have a signature style. It’s your voice. Your brush strokes and colour choices and the way you let them blend makes your work identifiable as Julia painting.
I feel like jumping up and down while you’re touching up the tree / waterfall painting, you met your objective instinctually and it is awesome! Yay! I feel that on the original ‘hydrangea’ it needs to be broken up, the lower half is divided and the top is round, I would add a stroke of cad red! It is so lively and beautiful!💕🇨🇦
Sone people just want to create drama and they can try and use it but we don't have to buy into it.... glad you brought it up because drama should be called out. I am so inspired by your painting! Beautiful and uplifting! Thank you for sharing!
I love this painting. There is so much energy and vitality to it. I agree with the previous comment that you did not steal anything. Sometimes people just make too much of something.
Julia you are doing a great job showing us how your approach your painting. I love the flowers. You are correct with the signature style. The perspective on the large painting looks awesome. I am not a painter, it all looks beautiful.
Both paintings are just beautiful! Signature style is just the style you work in the most. You can't steal a signature style - everyone has their own! And applying the paint the way you do has always been done. You didn't steal anything lol.
I recently found you and wanted to share how much I have enjoyed your work, especially your vibe. There are so many channels to watch, and my favorite is Garden Answer, and now yours. While I can appreciate many channels, the authenticity makes me return. As an artist, I enjoy investigating other techniques and want to play with how you paint. I’m constantly flowing the creative juices, but sometimes, an outlet doesn’t speak to me. Thanks for your adorable and informative channel. 🦋🎨🖌️🖼️
Fantastic, could see the depth increasing as you painted 👏🏼 and the flower painting was beautifully finessed! It really pops now. Agree with the others, signature is a completely valid expression for talking about your style.
Thank you for showing a new fresh visual to help with color theory as well as a genuine person who has so much heart. I appreciate your “signature style”. Don’t let the trolls discourage your voice. We artists are really sensitive so they target us more with stupid verbiage. I feel like I have friend in my studio painting with me when I paint and listen to you. ❤
Awesome process. On another note, haters are gonna hate, they’ll always be someone who feels the need to,say something even if they are incorrect. My signature style in painting is working with earths pigments.. Did I invent it….no, I believe it goes back to the Stone Age. lol. At least it’s found on cave walls created by Native American Indians.. thank you for your generosity with your teachings.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and process. I love your artwork ❤ and it’s really interesting and inspiring to know how /why an artist choose to do things.
Newbie here. I’m a Canadian artist living down in southern Panama..love the studio tour and had a few chuckles! I relate. Nice gallery in Ontario wow! Will be subscribing as I love checking out my fellow Canadian art tribe. Love the red…
I can sooooo relate to the wild comments, especially on Shorts. 99% of the time I get the kindest comments. But that 1% is angry! 😂 Keep on sharing your signature style!! ❤
Signature style - there will allllways be those people - always. You are correct. Plus (bonus) Solomon said there is 'nothing new under the sun', what has been will be again. He was way smarter then these 'nellies' who have to comment ie give a piece of their mind. (Will not chase that any further). We are artists! Enjoy!
Hi ! Love your red background! It attracts me to your videos 😄 How about adding some green berries to your floral painting. I have a hydranger wreath that has clusters of creamy white greenish berries. Keep up the good work! Linda in New Hampshire
You are correct about signature style.Even if others double and triple load their brush with colours, each artist applies it differently. I use tgat technique for animal fur. Load a brush with dark blues, greens and purple for each stroke
I LOVE your work! I am a fellow painter. Stumbled upon you today and have watched a few videos. This video was the most informative and interesting for me. You shared your method and your thinking while painting in real time! Thank you! I have liked and subscribed!
I'm sure many people before you have painted in a style similar. You've perfected your style to suit you, and it pops. I'd like to really try a painting like this someday, but I don't think it would be considered stealing. I think we all learn from each other all the time. Why else would we put ourselves out there and teach others, right? I really can't understand the opinionated people that have to make rude comments to others. Your work is stunning. Keep doing you. It's captivating, and energizing. I've been deeply depressed and ill for the past 7 or 8 months since my mom passed. I've been unable to get back onto my painting with any oomph. Watching you is perking me up to want to paint again, and I don't paint a lot in acrylics even❤
A good trick to figure out if your values are good, take a photo with your phone and convert the image into black and white. All will become clear :) And for establishing distance, cool colours recede and warm colours advance. LOVE all your colours!!
Just found you on RUclips and your style really resonates with me. I am a retired teacher who discovered a passion for painting a few years ago. I love it and I also am a avid gardener. Your paintings are amazing. Thank you for sharing ❤
Great art! Much imagination!! Love the hright colors. Could you please tell or show me how you transition between paint colors including lights and darks on your paintbrush to your painting.
I absolutely love your color blocking style. I love bright colors so I am going to give this a try. Thank you for sharing. FYI-you are a great teacher!
Good morning. I have a request for a RUclips demo. I love this floral and I think I see at least 9 blooms. Way too much for me to handle. ❤Can you demo a simpler painting for those of us who are starting out please?
Absolutely love this floral! So gifted! I would add whte flower to lower or mid right. Odd numbers are the rule? But then what? Do you because you do an excellent job!
You said you’re not a teacher but you really are a great teacher so far just watching your work you have your own unique style that no one can compare to. I love the play of colors and like your layering and then you are explaining as you go even though you said you wouldn’t be able to do that with a person there and I get that, I can’t concentrate painting when I’m teaching but I can help others so you’re really doing that it’s fantastic and I appreciate you and the fact that you’re creative space & working time with us!! Thank you!! Love your paintings!
(Waving at you from across the lake, over here in Bowmanville) I got my head around "talking" while I worked at my art desk and recording at the same time by imagining I'm sitting with a friend while I work. Not that I'm any kind of expert. I blurt sometimes. I say the wrong things sometimes (example: there's a distributor named Tim Holtz, well Canadian that I am I constantly say Tim HORTONs! Duh.) I also tend to say "um" a lot and I think I laugh too much... but then again, if I'm sitting, chatting with a friend, I usually laugh a lot then too. I think you are doing great Julia. I am thoroughly enjoying learning how and why you approach your work the way you do, especially since I am not a painter, I work with paper and books. Keep going! I'm loving seeing you on YT!👋😀☕
Another fan chiming in here--you can absolutely have a signature style that you love, and it doesn't matter if others have it, too. I love how serendipitous (spelling?) you are, and you inspire me to loosen up. I'm realizing while watching you paint that I am overstating and being too careful in my work, and it lacks that freshness I want and see in yours. I'm off to loosen up and have more fun! Thank you!!
Don’t worry about finding something to say while you’re painting, just seeing how you lay down strokes is so mesmerizing. I’d love to see a whole painting being made someday (minus the painting of the red undercoating and chalk & paint outlines, just all the parts that follow that). Love to see you work out a painting! Thank you so much for showing us your process!
Love these videos! Thank you! Very informative and educational. I totally see the improvement on the long waterfall picture. Really made a difference didn’t it! I also love the floral on the red background and think the lighter additions really made a big difference for the better. I don’t like to criticize so I’m not sure how to say it, so I just will say it. 😂. I think there is some loss of definition with the brushstroke additions to the red background. When the red was a little more solid, the floral really popped! I like the brushstroke additions to the red background, but something is going on there (to me in my humble opinion ☺️) where some definition has been lost and maybe a little muddiness? What do you think??? I do suffer from not knowing when to stop a painting though, so, it could just be me! Lol
This is a wonderful experience. Thank you Julia. I have just started painting this winter to keep the blues away. It’s working fabulously and hanging out with you in your space is such a bonus. You are my people.
No matter how long a technique has been around its still your unique take on it... Just keep doing you! You'll figure out your RUclips style.. I just subscribed so you must be doing something right! :) Hugs! deb
I love LOVE your style. Thank you. I have to ask you, why does your original bright white hydrangia bother me? I want to add more lower. My eye stays on the white. I not only love your style, but also your joyful spitit. Thank you
Love your work! Just found your channel, so not sure if you have already shown your paint pallet you work with and if you use and mediums and how you keep your paint wet??? 😃
There are billions of thinking creative people on our planet. Who owns an idea? Who owns a style? The person who first thought of something or did something or is it the first person who marketed it, brought it to public attention etc? Artists have always experimented. Each artist has a lifetime of experiences and combinations of experiences they draw upon. It worries me that we get so hung up on who invented what technique etc. You certainly did not steal anything.
Just about every chef in the culinary industry has a “Signature Dish” that speaks about them as an artist. I hardly think you could be blamed for stealing anything… 🤷🏻♂️
You didn't steal anything. Brush loading has been around for years. You are an Indredible artist. Don't let the idiots dim your light. Thanks for sharing your style, sense of expression and indecisiveness. Keeping it real. I appreciate you so much.
Signature Style means exactly what you said, it’s a style you favour, nothing wrong with that. Love your videos Julia, great job! 👏
Right!? I appreciate your comment!
You’re allowed to say signature style. And this is a fabulous video!
I love how you outlined the trees in the forward it really make them pop~!

Original Artist and style ❤ you would sell a ton of art in Hawaii.. your style is full of ALOHA😊
Wow, thank you! I would go to Hawaii!!!
I love this painting. There is so much energy and vitality to it. I agree with the previous comment that you did not steal anything. Sometimes people just make too much of something.

😅Julia, thank you for recording your beautiful work!
I am absolutely mesmerized! Your style is fascinating!

This is definitely what I needed to see.
Thank you for letting us in your Studio 🙏

Thanks Julia, I learn alot from your talking as you paint.
Your colors are so vibrant! And I think you are a great teacher.

So 😊 so I like so. 😂I like it.
You don’t even have to talk much, simply painting and letting us watch is great. Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
You are correct about signature style.Even if others double and triple load their brush with colours, each artist applies it differently. I use tgat technique for animal fur. Load a brush with dark blues, greens and purple for each stroke
Right?! It’s a cool technique!

Just wait for me to show you my garden!
Your painting is just gorgeous and l agree with you about the signature comment your right the other person is misunderstanding what you meant.
I think your work cassifies as abstract already.
Great art! Much imagination!! Love the hright colors. Could you please tell or show me how you transition between paint colors including lights and darks on your paintbrush to your painting.
Steel Magnolias…pink was her signature color!
I absolutely love your color blocking style. I love bright colors so I am going to give this a try. Thank you for sharing. FYI-you are a great teacher!

Lovely work, don’t listen to the haters
I love your colors and style so much! Thank you for your videos!
This was great. I'm learning so much just by being witness to your stream of consciousness as you work.
Love your style!!! Haha.
Absolutely love this floral! So gifted! I would add whte flower to lower or mid right. Odd numbers are the rule? But then what? Do you because you do an excellent job!
You have inspired me to pick up my paint brushes again. I am self taught but your Signaure style I luv and am now using myself.
You said you’re not a teacher but you really are a great teacher so far just watching your work you have your own unique style that no one can compare to. lol. It’s a fun journey and definitely a learning curve. I am looking forward to seeing what the videos look like in a year!
Wow that beautiful
I absolutely love your painting style and the vibrant colours you use. I appreciate all the demos you do and thank you heartily for them.
You are my kind of a “colorist”. New subscriber here, I`m an Icelandic artist, love your work
That looks absolutely amazing Julia! Can’t wait for the next painting 😊
Much appreciated!
Oh my gosh the floral is beautiful.

I do love a fresh fast painting!! I am learning too!
Great 👍
Love you and your work.

Love to see you work out a painting! Thank you so much for showing us your process!
Love watching your videos. Thank you for showing us your painting process ❤ It’s very inspiring and it’s like food for my soul ❤
You are very welcome!
Brilliant video Julia. Your tips are helping me evolve. Just love to watch you paint and explain.
I'm so glad!

I happened across your channel recently and I’m finding myself hanging out more and more! That’s for such a great time!
Agree with your signature style understanding!
I cannot wait to try this!
This is a wonderful experience. Thank you Julia. I have just started painting this winter to keep the blues away. It’s working fabulously and hanging out with you in your space is such a bonus. You are my people.
I love this comment! I really appreciate that!
Looks like maybe lemon yellow. Wow the first stones brought it forward
No matter how long a technique has been around its still your unique take on it... Just keep doing you! You'll figure out your RUclips style.. I just subscribed so you must be doing something right! :) Hugs! deb
Why they you so much! Yes I think so too
I love LOVE your style. Thank you. I have to ask you, why does your original bright white hydrangia bother me? I want to add more lower. My eye stays on the white. I not only love your style, but also your joyful spitit. Thank you
We, your fans so enjoy your wonderful videos!! Thank you for your kindness…please dont drink the paint water 😅
Where is light source in floral painting..loved the creamy hydrangea addition ❤
I think it would be shining right at it.
Hi Julia. Love your style! What kind of varnish do you use to finish your art?
What is the varnish for? And what brand do you use? Thank you for all your inspiration and advice
Can you do a video where you talk about the painters that have influenced you and your work? Where the Group of Seven an influence?
I will think on this!
I think you make a good film. A fair amount of talk and sometimes quiet when you paint. A good balance, I think, and so nice to avoid music.
Love your style. Have you seen Jack Shadbolts art? I think you would enjoy his video and style.
I have not but I will go check him out!
Love your work! Just found your channel, so not sure if you have already shown your paint pallet you work with and if you use and mediums and how you keep your paint wet??? 😃
Oh my goodness!! This Friday I am releasing a video on my palette , I and brands!
❤❤❤❤❤
How many hours a day do you paint? Love your paintings.
The white sky area needs to continue past the tree trunk to the left a bit in my opinion
Thank you!
Beautiful as always! ❤
Do you use a soft brush or more of a stiff bristle brush?
I would say soft! Or maybe medium!
Beautiful painting, what do you use to varnish ? Thanks
Liquitex varnish!
Nodding "yes"...when you are asking a question...do you want me to say "yes" out loud? Honestly I'm having a ball being with you as you paint!
Oh how I lived this comment. Yes! Talk to me!
It's beautiful but I don't like the top left dark blob😂

I won’t! Or at least I will try not to!
I like you
Oh dear I see a face and I can’t unsee it.
Just left of the left trunk.
An animal face.
Do u see it?
The comment on stealing: person could benefit from researching definitions of words before commenting.
You did not steal anything. It’s what you are known for.
