Well, they only LOOK like games big companies make. Game engines make it easy to drag and drop lighting, physics, and basic conventional gameplay. But most of these indie games lack content, polish, balancing, cinematics, etc. You still need a lot of man-hours for a full big 3d game. And it's very hard for a small dev to create UNIQUE 3d models, animations, and unusual gameplay mechanics. So it's a tradeoff between AAA fidelity and real depth/creativity. Most will still use retro 2d graphics. It's true that indies have more tools available, but I think many people are mislead by the flashy surface-level stuff.

Playing games doesn't automatically make you a great dev, publisher or game designer. And it' easy to say "I want this and that and that, now make that happen" but actually doing this you realize that some of these ideas are conflicting, that details matter a lot but take huge amount of times, that those details influence other aspects of the game, and, of course, that all of this needs to be funded, deadlines need to me met etc. pp. Finally his chaotic approach to games might be charming to watch in reviews but does it help to understand and create new games? I tried out 'none shall intrude' a rpg where you play as a Dragon looking to conquer a kingdom, get revenge on a knight that tried to kill him. It looks great and has cool attack combos.

Okay, this looks like it's got fun potential, and I think I can tell you enjoy using the pistol more than the magic staff Those gun effects looks and sounds great Here's hoping for a good looter shooter with some soul

I could not STAND the level scaling in Witchfire. Its like having a blast and then you slam into a wall and its way too frustrating to try to climb. Leveling makes the game jump so drastically in difficulty that the game out does your pace making you move at It's pace rather than your own. Hopefully this is like Witchfire but without the killer Level Scaling. And no Gnosis Levels don't help. Level scaling happens regardless of Gnosis Lv in WItchfire.
huh? gnosis level is the only way difficulty increases. it was different before though. as of right now, the only thing character level changes is the warden appearing at level 4. otherwise, its only gnosis level that makes the world harder.
You are a few months out of date. Character level no longer affects enemy scaling in Witchfire. That's handled by the gnosis system, which allows for optional increases in enemy difficulty, along with greater rewards.
@@MrDedomino Wrong. They said Gnosis would replace level scaling. It did not. The difference between lv 10 and lv 12/13 are about 300% higher difficulty. And this is without leveling Gnosis at all. I never played in Beta either. Suddenly you start seeing the Drowned Captain and all his minions. The number of mobs to kill before you can get one Arcana jumps from about 6-8 to around 20-30 You go from facing a few husks to facing 3 Musket Snipers, guys throwing Ice Grenades and way more swordsmen. Then if you get up to lv 17/18. Then your facing all that plus Grenadeer Knights, Floating Demon Things, and constantly respawning portals hunting you.
