So glad I watched this. Someone mentioned "reverse canvas" in another video I watched and I had no idea what it was. I looked it up and yours is the first video I watched! From your video alone, I feel confident to do this! And I love making canvases so this will add to the quality of the projects I do! Thank you! :)
I am currently making my first reverse canvas and was gonna use a staple gun for the back but push pins is a game changer. So much easier and neater! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial.
Dana Stewart thank you so much for your support and that actually means so much to me I have worried so much about my voice I can’t stand it so this helps me so much thank you 😊
I found your channel 1/1/2019. I was looking at the video where you transferred the photo onto wood board. Comments were disabled so I had to subscribe just to tell I really liked that video. I’m trying this project today.
New subbie love it videos really really helpful just got my cricut in January just unboxed it last month still learning in ur helpful P's please watch how u use those tacts there not push pin and they can come through in stick in ur finger hurts bad

New to all of this and I have watched a few of your vids so far and you are by far one of the best ones at explaining so thank you! Question- what would be the reason you would choose one way of doing this reverse canvas over the other?
Hi Crystal, I'm very new to the Cricut world, when using permanent vinyl on the canvas, did you, or do you need to treat your canvas first? I've read where you need to put a layer of mod podge in order for the permanent vinyl to properly adhere to the vinyl.
@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat thank you, the more I read and videos I watch, I'm finding that HTV is best for the Reverse Canvas technique! Thanks for responding!
You are so amazing!!!!! I am enjoying your videos so much. You've cleared up many questions I've had about these. Thank you. I'll be up all night for sure watching more:)))
I love watching all your videos 😘 I really learned so much from you- this video is something I’m going to create fingers crossed 🤞🏻- would you know how to MAKE A SILHOUETTE OF KIDS ? Using the Cricut
Yes I have done this with my girl I will do a video on this real soon :) Thanks for the video Idea!! Thank you for all your support it means so much Happy crafting
Just found your videos and love them. Your method of using thumbtacks is perfect...better then staples. Did you prime your canvas before applying regular vinyl. I've seen some videos where the vinyl wouldn't adhere on a non-primed canvas.
Did you use permanent vinyl, Iron on or what? Sorry, but I don't understand too much english. (I cam read and write more than I speak and understand 🙈) The video looks preaty easy. I'll try! Thanks in advance for your response.
It looks beautiful!! Just FYI....when a last name ends in an “S”, you don’t add another S. For example, it would be The Thomas’. Unless the last name has two s’s.
I really am not trying to be the grammar police... lol! Just trying to help folks who may be confused on how to make a last name ending in "s" plural. Proper grammar would be "The Thomases". An apostrophe denotes ownership or a contraction and does not make something plural. Just trying to help. It's your name and you do you! Great tutorial!
Thank you so much for providing the images. I have watched your video over and over. Can you tell me what font you used for the script on the Thomas. Thank you in advance!!
This is so adorable, and a good way to repurpose an old canvas! Thanks for this tutorial. Can I ask what font you used on your last name? I tried the "Base Camp", but that doesn't seem to be the one that you used for your last name. Thank you! :-)
Hi! I want to do this with a canvas I’ve had for some time now, however it is huge! It is approximately 4ft by 2ft and there are two support bars in the back. My question is have you ever used a canvas with support bars, if so what did you do with them?
I have not done one this bit but I would would make sure all for corners are secure with wood glue and I would think it would be ok I will try this soon maybe a good video :)
CrystalAnn, Super cute. !! I still learning, you are my master hehehehe. Question: Do you have any tutorial for how to make any of these two images with the cricut? Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much :)I do not I did share both files in the description all you have to do is change the last name and the letter T let me know if they work on your side I will be doing a video very soon showing how to create things like this :) Your so welcome thank you for watching and thanks for being here :)
Ugh I'm so bummed, I just bought a pack of these from Micheals and they have Staples on the front too. I'm trying to paint over them but you can still see them. I ripped them out but can still see the hole☹️
Love this video, but you are talking so fast 😅 i‘ve just learnd english a few years in school, so it‘s very difficult for me but i‘m getting better and better ☺️ 🤗🤗
I would have made it a bit different when the surname ends on s...such as The Thomas Family, the extra S on a project like this, though grammatically right, it steals the main focus
I appreciate the pacing of this video. No excess chatter, clear and to the point. Excellent!
this was so helpful! i feel very confidant in doing my first reverse canvas after seeing this super easy tutorial! thank you!

This was the best reverse canvas tutorial I’ve seen so far 🙌🏾🙌🏾 thank you !!!
Wow, thank you!
This is awesome. I've never seen someone use the backside of a canvas. And holding it down with a thumb tack is so much better than using a nail
Great video. I had no idea you could use vinyl on canvas and it would stick!! Thank you for helping us learn!

Never knew the frame was so cool underneath. Thanks!

I love your videos. I started watching you when you did the glitter wine glasses. Your voice is nice to listen to. Hope that doesn't sound weird. Lol.

I would recommend the same I had lifting from the adhesive vinyl and the One I did with HTV Iron on is still hanging on my wall

They both look great!
I am doing my first reverse canvas. I took the staples out and it WAS A PAIN! I am going to try your way next time ☺️💕💕💕
Yay!! for the reverse canvas boooo for the staples.... :)
I love this tutorial! I really like your push pin method a lot better than the staples

HI! How along did the regular vinyl last on the canvas? Did it hold up pretty well? Thanks for this tutorial!
I enjoy your videos. You’re very creative. 😊
Thank you so so much :)
What fonts did you use for this? Super Cute, love it
Amazing video! Super helpful!

So do you iron on the htv on the front of the canvas or back? I feel like the front would melt?
Did you use permanent vinyl, Iron on or what?
Sorry, but I don't understand too much english. (I cam read and write more than I speak and understand 🙈)
The video looks preaty easy. I'll try!
Thanks in advance for your response.
I did one in adhesive vinyl and one with HTV Iron on. I highly suggest you use HTV it will last way longer
Thank you for the great tutorials!
This project was great as well.
I need to pick up some canvasses :) Great tutorial, thanks!
Yes you do :) Thank you so much and your super welcome
Easiest tutorial i've seen
Do you ever seal your canvas with modge podge or something to make the vinyl stick easier?
Great job I love it thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much and your super welcome
Crystal do you just leave the holes as they are in the corners of the frame or do they need to be filled? Thanks!
It looks beautiful!! Just FYI....when a last name ends in an “S”, you don’t add another S. For example, it would be The Thomas’. Unless the last name has two s’s.
This is still handing on my wall in my living room. That was a huge conversation in our home lol.. I was able to remove the other s
Correct, but no apostrophe.

I'm curious what pickling wash is? I think that's what you called it? Never heard of it before.
Your video’s so helpful Tks so much
Thank you so much for providing the images. I have watched your video over and over. Can you tell me what font you used for the script on the Thomas. Thank you in advance!!
You are super welcome I used Base Camp for the font hope this helps
Do you have a preference of HTV or regular vinyl for this project? Is one easier to use than another? Extremely helpful video by the way! :)
I do prefer HTV over Vinyl it will last so much longer I think they are both the same when it comes to being easy :) and thank you so much :)
Also, what sis you use to get the two colored vinyl? The red/green?
Can you tell me what canvases you used for these? I want to make sure to get some that don’t have the staples on both sides!
Hello, can you tell me what the vinyl of the truck is called or what brand it is? Thank you.
What font did you use for the initial T and Thomas? I tried Basecamp, but it looks nothing like your font.
This is so adorable, and a good way to repurpose an old canvas! Thanks for this tutorial. Can I ask what font you used on your last name? I tried the "Base Camp", but that doesn't seem to be the one that you used for your last name. Thank you! :-)
your the best! i i have those push pens! now i don't need a staple gun right away. i will make some soon!
Thank you so much and yay so glad I could help
Like push pins!!
Do you put the vinyl on the front or back of the Canvas?
front
Can I get the truck design thank you love it
Do you paint or treat the canvas to help vinyl or htv to adhere better?
Crystal, thanks for the video. When you call heat transfer vinyl , did you refer to iron on material? thanks
Yes that is correct Iron on and HTV heat transfer vinyl is one in the same :)
Are you sealing vinyl on canvas after you have finished?
If so,with what? Gesso or ModPodge?
Hi! I want to do this with a canvas I’ve had for some time now, however it is huge! It is approximately 4ft by 2ft and there are two support bars in the back. My question is have you ever used a canvas with support bars, if so what did you do with them?

I guess it'll be trial and error for my. I'm torn between hot gluing the canvas back on or this idea of the thumb tacks.
Where did you get design and what are font names and branch etc? Thanks
Wondering the same thing
HELLO, WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE R MEMOREY KEEPERS CRAFT BLADE?
Can you decorate the back with something so it looks finished
Is it heat transfer tape your using
Love them !!!
Thank you
What brand was this? My problem is everyone I buy it has staple in the front in each corner?!
Hello. How to get two collored vinyl? 🤗❤️
CrystalAnn, Super cute. !! I still learning, you are my master hehehehe.

@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat How do we change the letters T and last name? I just got a cricut!
@@candicemacdougal3145 I too tried to change the letter and the last name but am not able to.
Question, for anyone, does anyone use a regular iron along with parchment paper?
Yes I have done that
Should I seal the HTV?? If so, what do you use
Yes I would use krylon clear spray paint or mod Podge
Where do you get the leaf design?
Love it
what color stain did you use?
Great job! However, I'm not sure how you spell your last name, but you've spelled it with 1 's' on the truck canvas, and 2 's's on the other.
I took off the extra s on the other one. Im a nerd lol
I had noticed that too! Wondered if I missed an ' {apostrophe) in the iron on one? ☺
Thanks for the share
You are so welcome
Where are you finding canvases that don't have staple on the underside?
Can you use an iron to do this as well?
yes you can
Nice 👍
How cute😍😍😍
Thank you so much :)
what size are the measurements for the letters
Do you use gloss vinyl or matte vinyl for the regular vinyl?
I used gloss
Can you post brand or type of push pin you used please? :)
I used the flat silver ones from the dollar tree :)
Chase Knight they are thumbtacks and you can get them in the office supplies section of most stores, even most drug stores.
Totally need your help
What do you need help with :)?
