I was surprised people's narrow consciousness actually. Oblivion is an unplayable game, reasons: -leveling system unfinished, you need to "grind" by pressing a button million times: what an enjoyment... -world all generated looks the same (they give you instateleport for this reason in the beginning) -dungeons all generated looks the same, and they filled with same generic level scaled enemies for the level scaled loot -combat is unplayable lategame since level scaling overlooked by devs (unfiinished) and goblin overlords have billions HP so you need 1000 hit with a sword to kill one, meanwhile there are 100 in a dungeon -combat is also boring since you can craft millions insta heal potions so its impossible to die -quest are boring: clear a boring dungeon mostly or kill someone who has no chance to defend self -very bad story its something like 5/10 I really enjoyed fallout 3 however. 7/10 Skyrim was a bit better than oblivion. 6/10 Didnt play fo4 yet. But the main point i think its not a surprise that Bethesda realized people praises their games when they put zero effort in developing. How could a sane guy praise a game like oblivion. I mean i would do that only if it would be the first game in my entire life. Even playstation1 games much better from 1999. Im just kinda laughing in the back. People GET what they deserves actually. They were and they ARE who STILL rating OBLIVON to 10/10. And THESE are the PEOPLE who undermine the development of these next projects. Bethesda just following the recipe to throw garbage for these pigs. Are you high? Daggerfall to Skyrim, F3 and F4, were all 'finished'. You might like the extra stuff that modding can bring but none of it 'finishes' their games.
There's no magical mystery to the Gamebryo/Creation Engine, what you see is what you get. If Bethesda's normal games are already lacking and bare bones while including all the expected RPG amenities... what the fuck did people think it was going to be like when they stripped all of that out?

Danny Mas Bethesda has done what they always wanted to. Take the NPC's and the story and element of choice right out of it. They want to make an fps fallout game.
Since it is based upon Fallout 4 modders already been quite busy. The thing is, it seems to use a lot of unsigned material too.. so modders can indeed make those mods that will make their characters never get hurt etc... because, it isn't as if the servers check anything. This is going to be a hackfest, if modders even care.
@@Patrickisnt Yeah, Fallout 4 already felt a bit hollow. It had story and npc's so that something but you already begin to notice how they changed things around. Still it was a doable game, not as good as Fallout 3 or NV though. This? This is crap.
I see what they did here. They were riding high on their success of FO4 and Toddy thought "Hold on, instead of making another decent DLC, lets make it a full MMO game!" The devs around him looked in horror as they had no experience making multiplayer games, much less MMOs, so they voiced their concerns, but Toddy said "Nah, it'll be fine! You guys can figure it out". They said "What if we just make a 4 player coop mode for FO4 and sell it as a DLC?". Todd looked at them with a straight face "Nah, i want a full game and i want to put a store in it too, like all them other big AAA corpos are doing. They can do it, why can;t we?" So the devs got to work and they told Toddy that they need to make a new engine because the crusty old FO3 engine cannot support net coding and multiple people and they need at least 2 years to craft and test the new engine, but Todd became upset. He said "Nah, just use the crusty old FO3 engine and make us a game in 2 years so that my board of directors can buy a new vacation houses in Tahiti and i can furnish my chalais in France". And so the devs, with desperation in their eyes, got to work to bolt on a multiplayer mod on a 15 year old game engine held together with spit, gum and duct tape. They told Todd they had no idea what they were doing, but Toddy insisted, so they did their best. And here is the result: a shitty early access level survival game with SOME Fallout elements... Enjoy XD!

@Isaak Thats a small part of making a game though, knowing whats good or bad game design. There's still the aspect of the design itself and giving players new and fresh experiences. I can critique paintings, but I wouldn't be able to pull of a Vermeer despite knowing how to paint and elements of design and how to properly critique art. Not saying its impossible but you know.

I have purchased every fallout game thus far. Unfortunately Fallout 76 doesn't even seem to feel like a fallout game. No story, only holotapes wtf. This game looks like a cash grab for Bethesda. They hope all the fallout fans just blindly buy this heap of junk.

Also why would Gamebryo not work with current and new types of OS's? If they've been able to transfer it to the current software I don't see a reason for them not being able to now.

People are defending this game for some reason. They are like oohhh it is gonna get better blah blah blah. So gullible. I can’t get behind iterative game development. I think it is a scam. They are conditioning us to be ok with is so they can slowly do less and less work and charge the same amount of money (and in some cases, even charge more money for DLC that puts things in the game that should have been there from the start!). Eventually, they will get to a point where they know they can just put off things forever with good PR people until literally everyone has forgotten about the game. And then guess what, they just made a crap game with minimal effort and got everyone to pay full price for it!

I don't own it and I don't care for 76 but I'll defend it because a lot of the arguments against it seem really, really stupid. People keeping saying it isn't fallout. . But we've been there before with Fallout 3 versus the older Fallouts. Now we expect Fallout games to be like Fallout 3. Besides, Fallout is just a brand name. An IP name. It can be anything they want, such as Fallout Shelter or now Fallout 76. It doesn't mean they aren't going to make Fallout games like 3 or 4 or Vegas. Halo Wars didn't replace the FPS Halo. People want Obsidian? The reason triple-A developers like Bethesda release shit like this is because people buy it and actually like it. They give you mindless loop grinding knowing that gamers will get addicted to picking up trash all day thinking they're doing something lol. It's the freakin' gamers to blame, not the developer. I went to massively-overpowered forums and most of the gamers there love it! The bar is set way low for the majority of gamers out there and they can charge you full triple-A price. So sad. The industry is ready to implode (thankfully Rockstar was able to release a proper game though).
I wonder how many people actually like it, or how many people think they have to like it cause their favorite streamer says he/she likes it. There are so many games these days that are such a huge step back from quallity and fun, yet get praised over and over. When ever a game gets a huge hype, people will claim they love it, even when its the biggest turd ever made. It's as if people have to like it or otherwise they no longer belong to the cool kids club. Sure a x % will really like the game and that is fine, but i think the majority of those who claim they love it, only love it cause they feel like they have to say that.

Right now the reviews on Metacritic reflect this "I'm so glad I haven't played this..." I remember someone (not sure if at Bethesda) saying "it wouldn't work because you can't have two Dragonborns so it would mess up the campaign together". I was on my way home from school when felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I thought: is this it? With a curious and excited face I looked at the notification on my phone. As I suspected it was a brand new WaB. My heart started to beat faster and I felt a sense hapiness through my entire body. I proceeded to put my phone into my pocket while I was imagining how many bells Mack was going to destroy this time... 2 or maybe 3? As I got inside the front door there was no time to spare. I rushed into the kitchen grabbing a snack as I flipped up my chromebook and turned on RUclips. I felt tears of hapiness running down my cheeks... When I finally got to see the video it felt like my heart skipped a beat over how good the video was. I felt a sense of satisfaction running through my body and it was in that time I remembered. Mack is the best gaming channel on yt.

@@blue1984 To be fair their engine sucks bad and they ain't upgrading the cruicial things from what I have seen. First you are CAPPED at 60 FPS in this game which is absolutely terrible especially for a PC game. You can unlock FPS while messing with the game files but the physics goes haywire. Also field of view is supposedly locked to either physics as well or some other similar thing which means that this game wont simply get a FOV patch. This engine sucks rly bad and to think its some AAA developer behind it just makes the feel they are lazy and just milking the consumers with as little effort as possible.
@@Bajtjr I agree it could be better but when a Bethesda game releases its always got issues. I suppose that's part of the charm we've all got used to it over the years. I've only played maybe 4 hours of 76 and I've enjoyed it but the lack of NPC's is a real problem for me. I'm trying to play it as a single play experience with voice chat turned off. I love big open world's so I suppose I'm easily pleased but when Mack or other reviewers have slated it I'm not surprised as I can understand the criticism. It's something they've never done with the series before and early doors it's not looking good for them. Really gonna have to bring out another mammoth patch and hopefully add NPC's as quests being given just by robots and terminals I'm sure will get pretty tiresome after a while. But yeah I take your point.

This is a games as service game. They likely wont scrap it and make a better one, theyll build on what they have here for years to come. if it does fail, theyll likely skip this type of game.
I've thoroughly enjoyed it on console with and without my friends. Most of the complaints I've seen are from pc players and people who didn't play for long enough to know the store gives you free credits for completing events which occur regularly. I've already got over 1300 credits earned. I didn't get free credits for buying the game they came as I completed the events. It seems a lot of reviewers don't have all the information and I'm glad he at least posted it as a review in progress since this review didn't have all the information either.
@@NicoleMead What do you say to the criticisms of bugs and VATS being unwieldy in combat? People have raised concerns about the lack of npcs and story but I think this game is more inline with like Rust, so that's neither here nor there. Th two former criticisms are some big ones though.
@SaintAlia_of_the_Games When it comes to VATS, there are cards that can be used to augment how it functions. I've found it useful as an auto-targeting system when you need to shoot a bunch of stuff in a hurry, like defending a warehouse or base from a wave of enemies, but I tend to enjoy targeting things on my own. There are NPCs in the form of robots and some ghouls/mutants who you can trade with. I personally love the way the story is handled because for me I feel like one of the lone survivors in a decimated world, figuring out what happened through the discovery of notes and halo tapes left by the deceased which gives me this sense of wanting to succeed in rebuilding where they failed. The main story so far is finding out what happened to the Overseer but I've been preoccupied in exploration. For me the game is nothing like Rust because it's not a free-for-all building survival PVP game. I love the way PVP is handled in this game because I'm not a fan of it and for me it doesn't make sense for fellow vault dwellers to kill each other when one player is unwilling without the killer being labeled a murderer. If two vault dwellers have a common dispute and want to take it outside, fair play but if you're rebuilding society you need some rules of combat. Even lock picking into someone's base will get you labeled as a criminal which I think plays more realistic than a world without consequence which is established in a lot of games with optional PVP elements. On a side note about the cards, the video doesn't mention that they are shareable with other players. So, if your friend is weapon focused and you're melee focused you could share and swap to get cards that build your character the way you want.

You were wrong about the leveling system. When you level up a special you get to choose a perk from that special right off the bat. The perk packs are a random bonus that comes every couple of levels. Cards are level locked, but not random at all

Been waiting for you to rip this pile a new one. Bethesda used to be such a great company. It's sad to see what a money-hungry disgrace its become since the release of Fallout 4, which was an empty boring shell of an RPG.

They made it a thing with the Horse Armor you had to pay real money for. They didn't became money hungry with Fallout 4, they been like that for a long time. Even with Skyrim, they never bothered fixing the majority of the bugs, they simply couldn't be arsed. You buy Skyrim on the Switch? You still got the day one bugs of Skyrim on PC and Xbox 360 in it. Why put effort in it when you can release the same game over and over without it costing you much while charing full price every time. Don't forget they also suddenly wanted to get money for mods in Skyrim and that backfired right in their faces. No, they didn't became a money-hungry discrace with fallout 4, they became more hungry, but they already were a money-hungry discrace.

It's by Zenimax, the same corporate structure as Bethesda. Zenimax is also named on my Fallout76 box :) Just saying, Elder Scrolls is safe from the online front, it's already done and decent.

There's no magical mystery to the Gamebryo/Creation Engine, what you see is what you get. If Bethesda's normal games are already lacking and bare bones while including all the expected RPG amenities... what the fuck did people think it was going to be like when they stripped all of that out?

Since it is based upon Fallout 4 modders already been quite busy.
The thing is, it seems to use a lot of unsigned material too.. so modders can indeed make those mods that will make their characters never get hurt etc... because, it isn't as if the servers check anything. This is going to be a hackfest, if modders even care.

I see what they did here. They were riding high on their success of FO4 and Toddy thought "Hold on, instead of making another decent DLC, lets make it a full MMO game!" The devs around him looked in horror as they had no experience making multiplayer games, much less MMOs, so they voiced their concerns, but Toddy said "Nah, it'll be fine! You guys can figure it out". They said "What if we just make a 4 player coop mode for FO4 and sell it as a DLC?". Todd looked at them with a straight face "Nah, i want a full game and i want to put a store in it too, like all them other big AAA corpos are doing. They can do it, why can;t we?"
So the devs got to work and they told Toddy that they need to make a new engine because the crusty old FO3 engine cannot support net coding and multiple people and they need at least 2 years to craft and test the new engine, but Todd became upset. He said "Nah, just use the crusty old FO3 engine and make us a game in 2 years so that my board of directors can buy a new vacation houses in Tahiti and i can furnish my chalais in France".
And so the devs, with desperation in their eyes, got to work to bolt on a multiplayer mod on a 15 year old game engine held together with spit, gum and duct tape. They told Todd they had no idea what they were doing, but Toddy insisted, so they did their best.
And here is the result: a shitty early access level survival game with SOME Fallout elements... Enjoy XD!

@Isaak Thats a small part of making a game though, knowing whats good or bad game design. There's still the aspect of the design itself and giving players new and fresh experiences. I can critique paintings, but I wouldn't be able to pull of a Vermeer despite knowing how to paint and elements of design and how to properly critique art. Not saying its impossible but you know.

People are defending this game for some reason. They are like oohhh it is gonna get better blah blah blah. So gullible. I can’t get behind iterative game development. I think it is a scam. They are conditioning us to be ok with is so they can slowly do less and less work and charge the same amount of money (and in some cases, even charge more money for DLC that puts things in the game that should have been there from the start!). Eventually, they will get to a point where they know they can just put off things forever with good PR people until literally everyone has forgotten about the game. And then guess what, they just made a crap game with minimal effort and got everyone to pay full price for it!

People keeping saying it isn't fallout. . But we've been there before with Fallout 3 versus the older Fallouts. Now we expect Fallout games to be like Fallout 3. Besides, Fallout is just a brand name. An IP name. It can be anything they want, such as Fallout Shelter or now Fallout 76. It doesn't mean they aren't going to make Fallout games like 3 or 4 or Vegas. Halo Wars didn't replace the FPS Halo.

At launch New Vegas was a steaming pile of trash that couldn't be played due to bugs. For some reason people have forgotten. Or else they have Selective Memory.
People have been obnoxiously asking for the next game every month, every year. Demanding they make the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout. And, on top of that, an increasing number of people have been demanding multiplayer of some kind. With the prevalence of Fortnite and PUBG and all those shared world survival games. . . Where do you think Bethesda is gonna go or try to do to shut people up? It's a quick game thrown out there.
Mind you it's not what I wanted. I wanted a coop version of a main Elder Scrolls or Fallout. Just me and one other person. With sliders and toggles to protect my game from trolls so I can control what they can and cannot do in my game.
But Fallout 76 is no affront beyond it's hefty pricetag.
The game is good I put 14 hrs into it.
The reason triple-A developers like Bethesda release shit like this is because people buy it and actually like it. They give you mindless loop grinding knowing that gamers will get addicted to picking up trash all day thinking they're doing something lol. It's the freakin' gamers to blame, not the developer. I went to massively-overpowered forums and most of the gamers there love it! The bar is set way low for the majority of gamers out there and they can charge you full triple-A price. So sad. The industry is ready to implode (thankfully Rockstar was able to release a proper game though).

I was on my way home from school when felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I thought: is this it? With a curious and excited face I looked at the notification on my phone. As I suspected it was a brand new WaB. My heart started to beat faster and I felt a sense hapiness through my entire body. I proceeded to put my phone into my pocket while I was imagining how many bells Mack was going to destroy this time... 2 or maybe 3?
As I got inside the front door there was no time to spare. I rushed into the kitchen grabbing a snack as I flipped up my chromebook and turned on RUclips. I felt tears of hapiness running down my cheeks... When I finally got to see the video it felt like my heart skipped a beat over how good the video was. I felt a sense of satisfaction running through my body and it was in that time I remembered. Mack is the best gaming channel on yt.
And to think that Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 is going to use the same 20yr old engine....
20 year old engine? I don't think you understand how games are made mate. A game "engine" isn't a single piece of technology nor is it a program. It's a collective group of tech which makes up a so called "engine" which is also updated regularly. You don't know what your talking about. Think before you speak!

@@blue1984 To be fair their engine sucks bad and they ain't upgrading the cruicial things from what I have seen. First you are CAPPED at 60 FPS in this game which is absolutely terrible especially for a PC game. You can unlock FPS while messing with the game files but the physics goes haywire. Also field of view is supposedly locked to either physics as well or some other similar thing which means that this game wont simply get a FOV patch. This engine sucks rly bad and to think its some AAA developer behind it just makes the feel they are lazy and just milking the consumers with as little effort as possible.

I've only played maybe 4 hours of 76 and I've enjoyed it but the lack of NPC's is a real problem for me. I'm trying to play it as a single play experience with voice chat turned off. I love big open world's so I suppose I'm easily pleased but when Mack or other reviewers have slated it I'm not surprised as I can understand the criticism. It's something they've never done with the series before and early doors it's not looking good for them. Really gonna have to bring out another mammoth patch and hopefully add NPC's as quests being given just by robots and terminals I'm sure will get pretty tiresome after a while. But yeah I take your point.

This is a games as service game. They likely wont scrap it and make a better one, theyll build on what they have here for years to come. if it does fail, theyll likely skip this type of game.
I've thoroughly enjoyed it on console with and without my friends. Most of the complaints I've seen are from pc players and people who didn't play for long enough to know the store gives you free credits for completing events which occur regularly. I've already got over 1300 credits earned. I didn't get free credits for buying the game they came as I completed the events. It seems a lot of reviewers don't have all the information and I'm glad he at least posted it as a review in progress since this review didn't have all the information either.
@@NicoleMead What do you say to the criticisms of bugs and VATS being unwieldy in combat? People have raised concerns about the lack of npcs and story but I think this game is more inline with like Rust, so that's neither here nor there. Th two former criticisms are some big ones though.
@SaintAlia_of_the_Games When it comes to VATS, there are cards that can be used to augment how it functions. I've found it useful as an auto-targeting system when you need to shoot a bunch of stuff in a hurry, like defending a warehouse or base from a wave of enemies, but I tend to enjoy targeting things on my own. There are NPCs in the form of robots and some ghouls/mutants who you can trade with. I personally love the way the story is handled because for me I feel like one of the lone survivors in a decimated world, figuring out what happened through the discovery of notes and halo tapes left by the deceased which gives me this sense of wanting to succeed in rebuilding where they failed. The main story so far is finding out what happened to the Overseer but I've been preoccupied in exploration. For me the game is nothing like Rust because it's not a free-for-all building survival PVP game. I love the way PVP is handled in this game because I'm not a fan of it and for me it doesn't make sense for fellow vault dwellers to kill each other when one player is unwilling without the killer being labeled a murderer. If two vault dwellers have a common dispute and want to take it outside, fair play but if you're rebuilding society you need some rules of combat. Even lock picking into someone's base will get you labeled as a criminal which I think plays more realistic than a world without consequence which is established in a lot of games with optional PVP elements.
On a side note about the cards, the video doesn't mention that they are shareable with other players. So, if your friend is weapon focused and you're melee focused you could share and swap to get cards that build your character the way you want.

You were wrong about the leveling system. When you level up a special you get to choose a perk from that special right off the bat. The perk packs are a random bonus that comes every couple of levels. Cards are level locked, but not random at all

Been waiting for you to rip this pile a new one. Bethesda used to be such a great company. It's sad to see what a money-hungry disgrace its become since the release of Fallout 4, which was an empty boring shell of an RPG.

They made it a thing with the Horse Armor you had to pay real money for. They didn't became money hungry with Fallout 4, they been like that for a long time. Even with Skyrim, they never bothered fixing the majority of the bugs, they simply couldn't be arsed. You buy Skyrim on the Switch? You still got the day one bugs of Skyrim on PC and Xbox 360 in it. Why put effort in it when you can release the same game over and over without it costing you much while charing full price every time. Don't forget they also suddenly wanted to get money for mods in Skyrim and that backfired right in their faces.
