97 dB is the sensitivity of the speaker that's way different from the max peak spl and your using a poorly calibrated phone mic to measure the levels of the speaker..
I use the 12 inch for my Line6 POD Go. It’s been the perfect solution so far.
Great price $ Thanks for the review, DjBarr! Keep up the great work! 👌🏼
For those of you using your phone please be careful during Bluetooth mode I believe you can still get phone calls even if you put it on do not disturb I would check and confirm
Thanks so much for reviewing. I've almost bought this speaker several times for fill or monitor use. You can use license free music for videos which is easily obtainable.
I bought 2 15 inch powered speaker from mono price and I love them so nicely packed with sound and it can dj gigs very well with a mackie sub 18 these speakers are amazing cheap deal and can be worth the money 😎
I buy all my XLR and IEC cables from there (Monoprice). The speakers do sound good, but like you said, only for ceremonies or cocktail hour.
Please review more loudspeaker from different brand, it's really a great help to make decisions when shopping for new speakers
It makes you wonder why we are paying above $1000 for PA speakers when, in reality, the bigger brands may be manufacturing in the same Chinese factories. Much of the price we pay is for the warranty, but is an EV really 600% better?
That SD slot is/can be a game changer..
Is it mostly used to load music? Does it just free up your phone?
Yeah, about the speaker sensitivity rating... That's actually a measure of how much sound the speaker produced with a pink-noise tone while being powered at 1 watt with a mic 1 meter away from the center of the speaker, not a guarantee of the db it can hit. The higher the sensitivity, the louder the speaker is at the same power level.
Finally someone understand this, cant stand these guys measuring shit w/ music and then talking about SPL levels
Yeah I was gunna say. 97 db is a sensitivity level for the driver it's not a spl reading lol... buddy isn't an audiophile that's for sure aha. Bluetooth on a pa system .. ew
You are correct, sir. Although such a spec is usually only found on passive units (to better be able to calculate approximate SPL capabilty with a given applied power amount), which I thought a little strange. On a powered cab, you would usually see a continuous or peak SPL rating - and in this context an 97Db@1M maximum output would be very poor indeed for a speaker intended for PA use... I've actually ordered one of these "bad boys" yesterday to do my own review on my channel :)
I just received two 15" to use as live show drum monitoring & for what I need it didn't lack enough bottom end even in the normal selection DSP.
Did a show & they were really good sound.
@@mabrystudios5880 nice i’m thinking about picking up some of these for rentals and small shows
Out of curiousity, I actually ordered one of these "bad boys" yesterday for my own review on my channel. Can't wait to see if our opinions are similar ;)
the 12" one is surprisingly good- let speaker break in and sounds good
All I can say is, I missed your videos so much! And can I please have some of your MERCH!😭😭😭
This looks good for ceremonies & cocktail hour but I wouldn't trust these at a party or reception. I might grab a 2 10inch just because it's too good of a deal to pass up.
Thanks for the upload homey…everyone has to start somewhere so this might be a good option
dude!!! i just bought a pair... i metered them together at 50 watts they are pretty loud!!! they are awesome! imagine 4 at just 100wattstotal!!
Arnt these a Monoprice brand?...... Watches video... Yup thought so.. I've use Monoprice cables.. Excellent cables and I have a few Stage Right midi controllers.. Built well
Watching from the Philippines my brother. Hope all is good and keep doing your thing Barr 😎🤟
It's worth spending a little bit more - like the Alto TS 310 for around 330€
Can you connect two mics at once to the speaker?
Sure the SRX are better all around but in your opinion, how much better? ps subscribed
"Copyright strike." A bane of the DJ existence.
92dB. OK then. What distance did you measure at? What SPL meter weighting did you use. A=weighting or C-weighting? Which SPL meter did you use? Thanks in advance for answering - good review, bro.
Are these still worth picking up for cocktail hours?
what do you think of these as like a monitor ?
Well Dj Barr I just ordered one 9 minutes into your review lmao. I think this speaker for the price will get the job done, I’m in need of a cocktail hour/ceremony speaker and voila your video popped out, great timing, gracias Dj Barr.
They sound horrible
@@KarlKnutson0615 Partly correct. They sound horrible without EQ. I don't understand why they didn't use the DSP to correct the large hump at 2K that makes these painful to listen to out of the box. They are actually quite capable output wise, but the compression driver NEEDS to be tamed.
You didn't put the link in the description
Compa te falto abrirla para ver que conponentes tiene
What's the frequency response on these bad boys?
Yeah, the manual doesn’t mention it so i’m a little worried 😂
What app do you use for db. Enjoyed the video
You never even played music on them! How do they sound?
Would you recommend 15’s for ceremony? I’m thinking about going with 2 12’s. You think that would be plenty say for 200 people ceremony ?
You would honestly probably be fine with the 10 inch if just for ceremony, 12's if you plan on using them for cocktail also
10 is fine for a ceremony. I used to use 15" speakers for everything. I actually had a bride say it "looked" too big and bulky in the photos, so I went smaller for top speakers, and add a sub for the receptions.
@@mydjericg6465 The 2 12's would be 300 watts RMS for each 12" inch PA Speaker; so yes that would be also nearly ideal medium duty PA speaker application as its nearly 86% of the audio power output of the 15" inch PA speaker; the price as of this posting right now is $180 apiece or $360 for a matched pair of 2 12's; which is a much lighter 35lbs per 12" PA speaker(80% of the weight of the 15" PA speaker) or 70lbs if one is carrying both of them with one in each hand. The price of the 15" inch PA Speaker is now currently priced at $225 a piece; so its $45 bucks more for the 15" upgrade from the 12" PA speaker; so on a pair it would be about $90 bucks to upgrade to 100 total audio output watts in terms of rms power; so its $360 for pair of 12 inchers versus $450 for pair of 14 incher PA speakers; I personally would go for the $360 for the pair of 12 inchers myself as that is an excellent price for the performance dollar with about 85% of the total audio output power in output audio rms power; for a mere $360 for a pair of 12 inch PA speakers.
Can't find nobody that sells them
Yess new video
What a monster speaker
Can you get them in the uk ?
I wonder how these stack up to Rockville RPG-15s.
I have the rockville speakers. 4 of them, 3000 watts each, with their respected amp.
@@raytorres6077 Actually it's 300 watts as the 3000 is P.M.P.O.
@@raytorres6077 I don't think Rockville produces and actual 3000 watt speakers ;)
i have use the Rockville and these are awesome.... now think about this. the rockville will prob pull 300 watts these pull 100 watts and are pretty loud at 100w
Great vid Barr
Dangit. They're out of stock
Brother falto la técnica picudo lol 😂 saludos
Donde están tus gig logs?
What is better mackie or SRD??
Mackie
Thousand times better Mackie
a pair of these vs 1 mackie?
You should definitely do a review on the Krane kart 750. I’m seeing a lot of dj companies start to use them.
Missed you bro
Been awhile Mr Barr
Bro this is definitely a sponsored video, never heard you so positive about a beginner speaker before 🤷🏻♂️ I mean $200 is really cheap for any kinda of speaker
Looks like a re-skinned Behringer Dr 115
the Behringers actually sound 100x times better out of the box ;) With some EQ, the SRD215s can be ok though. They will get loud!
Get ready to see these in so many churches.
Never heard of this brand but looks nicer quality than Rockville.
Still waiting for the ladies in bikinis dancing on the subwoofer stage !!!……..???
1. You're violating Spotify's TOS. You're never going to get caught, but it's not legit.
2. Don't recommend that DJs use Bluetooth, cell phones can interfere with the signal.
I can’t take speakers with SD slots and other inputs serious. idk. it’s just like $200 Bluetooth speakers from downtown LA and those suck ass. I’ll skipping these
With the led lights 🤣
Cuando gig log?
Dude! Get a lavalier mic and stop yelling!
Now is not budget friendly is broke budget friendly lol ik
Dude. As a sound engineer, you shouldn’t be listening to music over 90db anyway. It gets harmful for the ears.
Why are you shouting??
These speakers are shit! Are you kidding??
I bought one to test / review it. It is painful to listen to out of the box, but the transducers are actually decent considering the price point. They have a strong bump at 2K that makes them painful to listen to, but with EQ, they are actually quite capable and can sound surprisingly good and loud. Why they didn't tame the compression driver with the DSP is beyond me. The 2K needs to be cut quite a bit. Add a boost in the 60hz and 10k regions and they can sound quite decent.
