Guitar. Marr. 30 years on. Still amazing. It's like musical porn for me. Brilliant. I love Morrissey in a different way. I'm a guitarist so I wanna switch Mozz off sometimes so I can just take in this holy trinity without vocals. Music keeps me alive. Especially when it's this good. Thanks for posting it.
Teenagers, this was the greatest band in the history of the universe and if you want to impress your little friends you will learn about this band.. that is all .. good night.
@MatthewPA1972 Legiao Urbana were a Brazilian band from the 80s as well. They sounded like they were very influenced by the Smiths. The guy that posted that is obviously Brazilian.
was a bit surprised to find this song is about marriage. i always thought of it as the story of boy not meeting girl, sitting in the library of their school, both not getting the nerve to strike up a bond between them.
@walkouttowinter I know, crazy song to play on the guitar. Its so hard, i was trying to learn it and am finding it a nightmate. The speed of the song to makes it much more harder. Amazing really, hes not even breaking a sweat
When asked why he used that amp he replied "It was the 80's". Though something tells me Marr cared about equipment more than just referring to the respective decade.
HELLO!!! Morrissey checking Johnny out! Likes what he sees... Nobody CARES??? C'MON!!! At 2:05 I know Morrissey has said that there was never anything sexual going on between them, but here's proof that there was some sort of attraction.
"Boy afraid Prudence never pays And everything she wants costs money But she doesnt even like me ! And I know because she said so In the room downstairs She sat and stared In the room downstairs She sat and stared Ill never make that mistake again !"
Discordo, Daniel Silva. Primeiro, Aborto Elétrico, veio antes de The Smiths. E também, Morrissey e os demais não viveram essa ditadura no Brasil, como Renato viveu! Não que eles não tenham se inspirado no Morrissey, mas falar que é uma "cópia", é demais! Confesso! E olha que The Smiths é minha banda favorita!
You wanna know something that's really nuts about Marr live? Not to be too much of a techhead, because I don't know that much about the stuff, but check out the amp he's using. That's a JCM 120 or 160. If you fuck up one damn note on that amp, you hear it, it's probably the cleanest amp you can buy. Listen to him play - not a note missed and this is a damn tricky song to play. Marr puts wanker solo guitarists to shame!
@damienmetalwind I have to agree basically entirely with you. It's more a wishful thought than anything I meant. Apparently they've been offered millions to rejoin and have turned it down everytime anyway. As in Morrissey's solo stuff of the 90's was lacking proper guitar, with many many exceptions of coarse, lyrically still being very sound, 00s stuff, much better guitar making better albums than the 90s,Marr at his side would be phenomenal now, adding what some of Mozzer's albums were lacking.
everyone always talks about J. Marr... i find also the bass playing remarkable... compared to the primitive simple figures that Peter Hook of Joy Division played, he appears like a bass wizard
Morrissey is well known, he has been this summer here in two ocassions. I prefer Smiths to Morrissey. Morrissey is ok but In my humble opinion the fusion "marr-morrissey" it will be unrepeatable. Best wishes
The bassline, dude. The bassline!!!

it's the exact reason I like the Smiths more than Morrissey. .. THE GUITAR PLAY BY MARR IS FANTASTIC!! ALWAYS WILL BE.
My favourite:

Ainda tá nisso?

The Smiths sound is basic no frills, it first took me a while to get used to it because of the new wave bands I'm hearing. Gets better with age.

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
everyone always talks about J. Marr... i find also the bass playing remarkable... compared to the primitive simple figures that Peter Hook of Joy Division played, he appears like a bass wizard
@reginaldogomes754 isso mesmo rs
Sorry, not JCM, Roland JC 120 (Jazz Chorus). NOW I sound like a techhead. Hahaha.
Marr should do guitar for Morrissey on his solo stuff......
The Smiths ==> Inglaterra
Legião Urbana ==> Brasil
MOZZ IS GOD!!!!! AND JOHNNY IS TOO!!!
Morrissey is well known, he has been this summer here in two ocassions. I prefer Smiths to Morrissey. Morrissey is ok but In my humble opinion the fusion "marr-morrissey" it will be unrepeatable.
Best wishes

Andy Rourke !!!!
Tie them down, force the headphones on their ears and make them listen! Do you have any idea how many low-rate clones this band has produced?
Nobody dances like Morrissey!
I like their early stuff better. The first album is amazing
that would be Johnny Marr
its funny cuz every footage I see of Andy he always looks bored...lol
Legião Urbana nem copiou kkkk
two words..1Johny-2 Marr....two words
is this satire?
