#kia #sorento #review - Авто/Мото
Had a 2014 diesel Sorento, traded it off at 107k kms for a 2019 gt line diesel. Going strong at 82k kms. Love them to bits ❤. Great car, no problems at all.
why did you trade it in
@@donosy7615 wanted a newer one.
My 2010 is still going well , 34 trips to Poland and back , never had an angry spanner !
Your car reviews are almost the best on RUclips. For me ride quality is one critical point when shopping for a car/suv vs a ute and you are the only channel that does a ride quality test that gives the information that I need. Your reviews are very good, practical and informative. I always run to your channel first to watch the review before heading to other channels. Thanks for your hard work and please continue doing it.
Thanks for watching!
I have been driving a 2023 model as a hire car and love it. Ordered a new model early Jan, already arrived in Melbourne, delivery scheduled for 12th of Feb.
Whatever KIA is doing, they should keep with it. I love how classy and practical their cars are. For the driver assistance stuff, they could easily push out an update that adds a button to the home screen that can either be customized to perform a certain action or be predefined by the brand to disable all that bs. This is only if they can't have the car remember the last settings.
Can't wait to see you hit millions of subs.. really love your content and how detailed it is. The hard work and time you put into it really shows. Much respect and prayers from UAE.
Good morning (South African time), Paul. Thanks for the review. This is one of my favourite SUV. Now that you've done the KIA, I hope the new Santa Fe will follow soon!
Thanks for watching!
Been waiting for this review for months 😩😩 saw the face-lift from last year ❤ and I've been waiting man. Thank you 👍🏾
I have this on order since September and it is about to arrive very early Feb, and I was just waiting for you guys to put a video out on this, thanks a lot!!!
You guys are just one of the best channels for cars content on youtube, I really like your quality of explanation. Huge love from Saudi Arabia to you and your crew members 🤍🇸🇦.
Much appreciated!
I recon your car videos are seriously the best going around…. Thanks Paul.😊
I waited 22 months. My order was converted to the new model and picked it up two days ago.
Which colour did ou get?
Now all we need is an AWD hybrid and I'm sold. Great review Paul.
I was waiting for this review, thanks car expert team for reviewing this car. Hope I get my sorento vey soon 🤩
Kia is knocking designs out the park even with their mid life updates. Nice. Wish they could improve the seat comfort.
Hi Paul. Great video! You go into so much detail about the suspension and it’s awesome. The off-road testing I’m not hugely demanding as a viewer because I don’t think this car would be taken offroad but that is just me😃.
Good review!... very substantial , important things, like road noise, suspension etc covered... switch from waiting for Sportage GT to this .. expecting delivery next week
Thanks Paul for a great review. My wife has the 2022 GT-Line Diesel and we both love it, tempted to update but maybe in a couple of years. And yes please to do some light offroad comparisons with large SUV 🙂.
Love your work Paul & team... Would love to see some of these performance tests with the vehicle at maximum passenger capacity...
Nice video brother really useful 😊
Hi Mate,
Thank you for all your team and for your continues effort and for reviewing Kia Sorrento facelifted version. Do we have a timeline when the HEV and PHEV hybrids will be launched in Australia ?
Wonderful review as always Paul, looks like a great upgrade for me in the future for the family. Kia's doing great things; but cars in general are getting too darn expensive! Did it have a hidden rear wiper or no wiper at all?
The wiper is hidden up the top, under the little spoiler
Hey Paul, love the channel! Can I ask why you don’t do the fuel economy test in standard conditions. Just seems every video there is a caveat/not showing its true economy “because we did our performance test earlier” etc? All the best mate
fantastic... 16 months n waiting 😢 can't wait to get our car
Got this one couple of weeks ago, amazing car
Hi Paul, love this review - Thank you
I’m considering getting the GT Line, but curious whether you’ve heard about a Night pack coming out, that would be have the black accents rather than the brushed aluminium?
Paul does a great job on these reviews. It was after watching his review of the Diesel MY23GT that gave me the final push to buy one. That was back in March last year and mine is coming in 3 weeks (its on a boat just of the coast of Batemans Bay on its way to Melb). So, a 12 month wait, and though there were times when I almost gave up, I couldn't find an SUV that was as good as the KIA Sorento. The V6 Diesel engine would make it perfect.
much needed refresh well done kia!
Would like to see this types of cars doing some light off-roading - especially that "new" hill with the logs you took the Toyota Rav up (would like to see that as a regular part of the off-road part of the videos). And then showing on the driver's display how the torque is distributed between the wheels. Great review as always though.
Awesome review
I live in the US I’ve got a 23 Sorento SX Prestige in sapphire blue I’ve ordered the updated model today ETA is late august early September
Have the MAJOR transmission issues been resolved since all the recall issues on the 2021-22 models? My 2021 Sorento has just been in the workshop for a month waiting for parts and they haven't even repaired the transmission, just some booster pipe :(
Good presentation lead me to subscribing.
Judging by the comments I think I got lucky, here is Brisbane there where plenty in stock went to test drive one and bought the day after didn’t have to wait. Exactly the same as your review unit
Very interesting as I am looking to purchase a KIA in the very near future. You’ve definitely solidified my choice.😊
I saw one of the latest Kia Sorento with AO | KIA advertisements in Melbourne. It looked very nice.
I'd love to see it offroad Paul
I love this vehicle! I have the 2013 Kia Sorento. In South Africa, we call it smash and grab windows with the tint instead of privacy glass 😂
looks bloody awesome
Would be nice to see some light off roading and towing for the Kia Sorento pls. Thanks.
G'day👋,,,nice car nice review and would love to see the v6 review also.....Kindly I would love also to see reviews on people movers( family type cars) its been while
been watching for a while now still dont know how the durometer works. could be a good idea to simply say higher is better/lower is better? as i think a lot of people might be wondering the same thing
Yes, seperate light off road test please, preferably this GT line diesel AWD
I would love to see a off-road vid of sum's like this and the kluger.
Just a small point that a lot of people overlook paul regarding braking distance you mentioned an extra 5 m of space to pull up but what a lot of people do not understand is how fast the other vehicles are still going at that five meter mark
Agree 100% Paul, no point having tech if it’s not reliable. Who wants to pay for something that’s more frustrating than helpful.
Great review as always Paul. . One thing I would really love to see on SUV reviews is a tape measure to give us the actual load dimensions, length from rear opening to back of the front seat and of course the width between the wheel arches. Litres is such a misleading measurement.
Couldn't help but notice how the door slam test sounded hallow and cheap. Then I noticed that you(Paul) hadn't closed the window shut. I hope it sounds better with it closed.
One of the best selling SUV. That's good news to me because I' considering buying a SUV at the end of next year.
Thanks, any chance you will be reviewing the 2024 Hyundai Sonata. There must be a sedan worthy of your consideration. Cheers.
Been waiting for that exact car since July last year. They are saying about March before it arrives (just got my wifes Sportage after 12 months wait). How come I read that some are getting their cars much earlier. GGgrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Just a tiny note (not sure if it's a dealbreaker) - I hope Paul sees this comment!
I've had a Kia sportage reading a 6.2L/100km fuel consumption. However, I decided to test this theory and what I did was, since Kia cars was also able to show how much I've travelled SINCE refuelling, I then calculated the correct fuel consumption to be 7.0L/100km (I filled up at a fuel station to see how much Liters I used). While it's a minor difference and not a major issue, I'm just saying that Kia needs to work on the reliability of their tech readings.
Would be cool for the team to perhaps (if interested) to comment on this for future videos or the Sorento itself! Thanks for reading!
Not saying your wrong but how did u calculate that?
Unless you went from full tank to full tank. From petrol station to petrol station.
Further explanation: Example
- I go to a gas station and the Kia reading says it has managed to travel 500km since the time of last refuelling.
- I manage to fill up 35L of fuel.
By ratio, the car has travelled 500km and travelled 35L. In other words, 100km will consume 7L of fuel.
Would love to see an off-road test for the large SUVs. Be great to understand your normal tests but what are they like for beach driving
Nice car.. Cant wait for tucson facelift!
When is the V6 petrol hybrid available in Australia?
just looking at ordering in the UK, what is the colour of your review car ?.
Sorento offers a great overall package! The only thing bugs me is that it’s lacking airbags for the third row, which was why I canceled my order last year. It’s a bummer that Kia still hasn’t fixed it!
Not sure why you dislike piano black plastic trim so much. What would you prefer instead, that is still of the same relative cost?
Is KIA going to allow an update for wireless apple carplay on older models? I have a 2021 stinger
No unfortunately. Hardware issue, software update for Apple Car play and Android Auto will never work in making older models have wireless functionality.
Question, why do the hazard lights flash when you do the heavy brake test? Is that some sort of inbuilt safety feature?
all cars have it
And newer motorbikes as well. I think it maybe a European regulation
Since the Sorento is a 5+2 SUV, it’ll be more thoughtful if KIA can make the boot light lit up when the doors are opened, instead of just the boot (Mazda CX-9 did). This is more practical when entering the 3rd row at places where light is compromised.
Also, it would be great if KIA can extend the ambient light on the door to the 2nd row just like in the Carnival, & the airbags to cover the 3rd row.
Very detailed review by the way. Cheers!
Hi , i watch your Video from Germany
Interesting update. We have a 2016 Sorento, and we are in the process of replacing the turbo that is leaking oil badly. We discovered that when we had to replace the inlet hose which broke. I'm guessing the oil spray from the turbo weakened the plastic.
This is pretty much the only major repair we've had to do other than replacing the handbrake harness. Our new puppy went under the car and chewed through that so I don't hold that against Kia. I'm actually thinking of replacing it with the new Sportage. Kia has definitely proved its reliability in our experience.
this covers the 2.2 diesel engine. please also give details of the 3.5l v6 petrol engine. i am in the process of booking one, and torn between these two options right now..
I just picked up my MY24 GT Line yesterday. It is a fantastic car in all respects.
But the fact that you have to turn off the inccessant speed limit warning everytime you start the car is maddening.
It could be easily solved with a software update. Such an inexplicable own goal from Kia.
Don't regret the purchase though. Wonderful car.
Could you maybe set at a higher speed that you dont normally drive at?
what color is this exterior?
Great review but I can't get over the fact that the 3rd row doesn't have airbags. That was a tie breaker for me in the previous one as well.
I wish they have the mazda inline 6 diesel mild hybrid, waiting for the new cx 80 later this year, then I'll decide what to get, atm driving cx 5 diesel touring
When you do face lift reviews in the future put some pictures of the old car vs the new car when comparing things like grille, wheels, tail lights etc
Just a quick still picture of them side by side for like 1 second would go a long way to show off how much better (or worse) a face lift looks and why it's worth getting compared to a run-out last gen model
I work for Ryde Kia Pre Delivery in Sydney and we have a few of these in stock so if anyone in the Ryde area of Sydney is interested in getting one of these sooner we have a few available
Lovely car but are the seats more comfortable than the last model as I found them quite stiff
Thanks for great reviews7, I wish the vehicles in south africa was that affordable. You will pay close to 100k for this model in SA.
I like the facelift, the front end somehow just looks better.
Hyundai announced a few years back that they were not going to develop any more ICE engines, so no V6 diesel. They do have a great straight 6 diesel in the US that would be awesome in this and the new ute. Still hoping they put a version of the Cruiser V6 in the new Prado.
Ordered my GT Line in Nov22, my (now MY24) car only arrived at the start of this month (Jan24). I still haven't received it yet due to transport issues. It's replacing my much loved 2019 model.
Ordered my V6 GT Line on the 6th of January and it’s already arrived despite being told mid-March originally. Pick it up next week.
Wow! That's exciting
Enjoy your new car
Where did you order yours from, if you don't mind me asking?
@@Viv1991 Essendon Kia.
Prado waiting is over for me 😊
How do you opt out from seller offers of your car through your selling partnership?
Real annoying theres no stopping their offers.
Get mine tomorrow took 4 days
Very good value for money 💰 🚙
amazing
How is this compared to a Kodiaq ?
Medium suv tow test for 1.8tonne limit with cars like cx9 cx60 Santa Fe diesel and petrol Sorrento diesel and petrol vw Tiguan xc60 etc as there have been a lot of people out here in the desert I’ve seen towing caravans with Santa Fe’s 😂 so I was wondering how good they are
Definitely one if not the beautiful suv for its segment.
Hybrid version release date?
Which colour was this one?
It’s here
Why did they get rid of thr hybrid though?
You should definitely be doing off road test on all suv'
Ordered a GT Line Gravity Blue Diesel in August 2022 - eta March 2023 - still waiting....
Can you review the new 2024 Audi Q8 pls
That 2.2 diesel, like the 2.0 in the Sportage is an absolute peach of an engine, shame about using the dual clutch instead of the awesome 8 speeder in the Sportage.
Looks good. I'm surprised by those sales figure claims though I live in inner Sydney and in this size I see mostly Rav 4s, Klugers abd Euros for those that can afford the same thing at twice the price.
I am considering 2024 sorento but confused between petrol and diesel. I drive 30km in day , 4 days a week.
Hello Paul, could you please suggest me ?
I have the black on I used to have a black cluga
Ordered my Sorento 2024 GT model around 2 weeks ago, and it’s just got to the dealership, ready for pickup in a few days🙌🙌
Thanks for making the best car reviews on RUclips!!
I love kfc also!
Review on point as usual
All new cars have a lot off infotainment, how do you go if you're on a P plate, they are not allowed to use all the infotainment and be distrdistracted?
I have the 2022 model. And I love it. But this new facelift… bit drastic change from previous version. Not sure a lot these vertical stacked headlights.
they should have the american interior trim colours too.
What colour is this
Interesting how similar this is to my 2018 Santa Fe. Will be staying put for a while I think!
Agreed! I have a 23 Santa Fe which I got new in November. I guess the only down fall with the new Santa Fe due out soon won’t be coming out in diesel. So I think Kia will be the next option
