Absolutely hate the trend of removing physical buttons. I have to take my eyes off the road to see what I'm doing. Kia made this 10x worse by making you select between media controls and climate controls. I really really hope Kia goes in a different direction in the future.

The new Sorento’s facelift feels like it’s flexing some classic American muscle, especially from the side and back. But the front? It’s like it’s from a sci-fi flick. The Santa Fe, though, is a total makeover-sleek and new all over. The Sorento? Not bad, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark for me.

The hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants are coming, but not until the second quarter of this year, according to Kia.

Where is the 3rd row review?

    • @carsguide

Space is tight for taller passengers in the third row, but it will be fine for kids on occasional trips. Amenities include a phone holder, cup holder, USB-C ports, a 12-volt port, air vents on both sides and rear air-con controls on the driver's side.

I am considering 2024 sorento but confused between petrol and diesel. I drive 30km in day , 4 days a week.

Have you consider their PHEV? The distance you do is too short for Diesel. The PHEV has petrol 1.6t and the battery range is around 50k. So if you plug it in every night, you'll have enough charge for your commute and petrol if you have to do long distance driving.

@hellothere4342 thanks mate but I do not have budget for Hybrid....it's too expensive

@2010appra we have the 2020 Sorento GT diesel currently. My wife drives less than 30k per day but usually once a week/fortnight we go for a good 200ks family trips. If you can at least do long drives here and there I don't see how you'll have an issue with DPF blockage. If any indications,we've got ours now for over 3 years from new. 4 services and not a single issue.

@hellothere4342 guess the only problem with the petrol is the high fuel consumption....

Diesel GT line is the way to go. Better fuel economy and a really good ride. The hybrid ones, though available on paper, the dealers told me that people were still waiting 1.5 years on!

I would really like to see someone do a side by side comparison between Petrol and Diesel. I own a petrol and have also driven a diesel for a week, my findings is that diesel is louder with a tractor like sound. The petrol is definitely quicker but also thirsty.
I also wished KIA made an all wheel petrol. 😄

I think the diesel is quicker by far. Smoother

People consider these cars for the third row, and this review has minimal info and zero demonstration of third row access or comfort.
We get you’re 6”2 but prospective buyers want to know what the third row is like. A short video of you giving it a go, or even some smaller people or kids would have been great to see.
    Great review otherwise, cheers
