The Wilson LP's are incredible. The best thing i have ever purchased for my golf game. I went from 90's to low 80's over night.

I’ve been playing these for about a month, love them. Have 4-PW, GW, SW. I was perfectly happy with my Cobra OL F8’s and over the past few years they gained me several under 80 rounds. Was at the PGA store and saw the Wilson’s, Cleveland’s, and Tour Edge hybrid irons...tried them all and left with the Wilson’s. Took some range time to get used to them, especially coming from the OL irons. Beauty of these are I swing slower with better tempo and they just launch straight. Shot a course best for me 77 today with them, 3rd round played with them...put so many shots within 10 ft of the pin. I’m 47 and shoot low 80’s upper 70’s consistent...they aren’t just for newbies or guys that shoot in the 90-100 range. Just play what works and feels good!

That's weird cause I went to the gold store and wanted the Cleveland launchers but they didn't have them so I looked at these and the tour edition and cobra t-rails and I gotta be honest these felt just as good if not better then the rest.and I don't really have a problem hitting my irons but I just accepted the fact that I can never swing a club hard because when I do I just hit horrible shots. So I think ima get a set of these

Tried these at my local golf store and they are the very first iron that I felt amazing standing over the ball and trust me I have tried alot of different brands, never thought I would love a Wilson club more than a Titleist, Ping, Cleveland, Callaway or Taylormade. Have ordered my custom set, can't wait for them to arrive..

Hello Mark did you buy the launchpad irons. How do you like them. Was bothered about the paintwork does it stand up to knocks etc or does it mark easily.

Hi Mel, thanks and yes I have been playing with them since July. I personally love them, especially the longer irons. I now have confidence in my 4-6 irons which were always hit and miss for me before. The only thing with them is that I can't seem to play a fade with them but sure that is probably more down to me than the club. They do scratch up on the face a bit but the bottom and back of the head still looks brand new and I have been playing or practising nearly every day with them..

So far with watching the vids on the hybrid style irons the Cleveland Turbos out performed the Cobra T-rails!! But not by a small margin. They did cluster better than the cobras but Cleveland hybrids are bought as is off the shelf and with the Cobra's you can get a more custom fitting. This is the 1st vid I've seen on the Wilson. Please compare them all. I'm looking at new hybrids for next year. I'm using some very old Bazzooka hybrid irons a friend gave me about 20 years ago and are every bit 25 years old but that's the only irons I've ever used so the hybrid is something I'm already used to this style👍

I just got a set and took them to the range and as I knew I would - i f'king love them!
I couldnt tell if I could work them hard left and right, but those cheap ass one piece range balls aren't going to tell you much anyway.
I come from forged blades for the most part and rarely shoot over 80 so I didn't have to have' SGI irons...never even heard the term before til I looked at these. But I always hated hybrids and these are NOT ! I can't believe how strong the 4 iron is - more like a well struck 1 iron ( I miss those days!)
They just hit hard and solid and go and are easy as hell to hit. And that's with a stock set !
    Keepers !

Im a beginner and would like a set of these, my only worry is that I don’t want to get accustomed to letting the club do all the work. Say if I had these for a few years and then decided I wanted to upgrade to some Titleist T400s or something, would I not kind of have to relearn how to hit a normal bladed iron properly because I would be so used to hitting these launch pads?

My guess is ping will be the last company to produce this kind of club however if these (and cleveland and cobra) get a lot of business this year, I could see TM produce a club like this.
I have been hitting the cleveland launcher hb's starting this fall and they are really quite smooth. I love my ping g700s but I simply get more consistent ball flights so those irons are in the bag. If I get 3-5 more second shots onto the green vs. in the rough (or bunker), I have potentially gone from being really close to breaking 90 to consistently shooting in the mid to high 80s and that's a big difference. If I had all day like a tour pro to hit 1,000 balls and play 18, I might tighten up my swing enough that I could play muscle back forged irons but I don't.
But even listening to this guy from golfshake illustrates the problem. "They aren't clubs I'd use..." or . "These clubs almost make the game fun to play." If you aren't enjoying yourself on the golf course, you shouldn't be playing.
Sometimes, things need to be improved. I also play the cleveland smart sole sand wedge. I thick bounce club that gets the ball out of the bunker. If this club was what golfers used for 100 years, and ping came out next year with a thinner sand wedge (like what sand wedges have looked like for decades)... and their marketing said, "OK... for this sand wedge, you need to open your stance almost 45 degrees.. open the club face dramatically... swing somewhat outside in... and you will get out of the bunker," golfers today would say that is a stupid product development, and stick with the cleveland smart sole.

@@jcjbike Got thinking on your comment and your right . Ping is slow to make change . Even though I don't care for Taylormade products I have to give them credit on they were the pioneers in this type of club. With the MCGB they pushed the cavity back club to great distances with technology . Guess Callaway with the Big Bertha 2015 irons tried to do an early version as well . If a club helps someone out and makes it fun then then they should use it !

Great review Ryan. Nice to get an unbias review from a respected golf pro without a self assuming massive ego. I still play a set or Wilson Deep Red fat shaft irons in steel shafts from 2004 fantastic clubs. Sixteen years of 3/4 games a week has finally caught up with them, 6 iron shaft snapped so thinking the rest may be on the way out. Fancying trying these when my local driving range shop hopefully open next week. Senior golfer 65 playing off 13 with 7 iron swing speed of 79mph so thinking maybe moving to graphite to help as i am getting older. Whats your thoughts, get fitted for present swing speed or look a few years down the line when i maybe slowing down. Regards Mel.

And does anyone prefer these over a more traditional pro set up, if they are successful with a traditional club? Just looking for opinions. Also are they good for older people? Maybe a gift idea for my dad

Q: Why are "game improvement" irons viewed by so many with such aloof snobbery? Setting that question aside, who is NOT a game improvement player? Rory, Tiger, Ricky... just curious. Me? Im looking for the most difficult club to hit, nearly impossible to get air born and something that truly makes the game less enjoyable and much more difficult. PS: I doubt anyone cares that you wouldn't game them.....just sayin.'
