  • Better late than never. Wilson produced an iron directly aimed at the golfer needing help. Needing help with divots, straighter shots and more enjoyment. The Wilson Launch is a hollow body iron with wider soles and stronger lofts for golfer to enjoy the game without too much commitment. Watch the video to see how the Wilson Launch Pad Irons tested and who I would recommend them.

    Due to some serious injures, my golfing days were about to come to an end. I lost distance and never made solid contact with the ball. My swing was a mess, but I missed playing and was determined to play so I just bought a LP 5 iron head & put a graphite shaft in it, took it to the course. The club pro told me to buy the 6-pw because he never saw me hit the ball that far. It felt great coming off the face and got the ball up in the air quickly. If you are at a senior age or have some injuries that will keep you from swinging your clubs like you used to, I recommend these to anyone. When you first get them they are the ugliest things you ever saw, and you will take some heat from your friends for using them, but they become much better looking when you out drive people with regular clubs or land a shot 3 feet from the cup.

    I hit natural draws that can turn into hooks. Will stick to Wilson staff CBs with little offset and small sole to get through the turf easily. Every time I've tried thick soled irons, getting through the turf can be challenging. I take small divots.

      Why do club manufacturers not make game improvement clubs with less offset? Surely there is a market for these type of clubs?

    I have a set of Wilson's Turfrider hybrid irons from the 80s, the precursor to Hybrids and to the lunch pads. Love them

    I play the original LP irons. I'm not a beginner by any means but these do make golf alot easier to play. I switched from blades to these. Big difference at first and now I wouldn't go back to a standard club.....

    Great review sir. Considering these, the Launcher Halo or the TE E523. These don’t look as huge as the Halos. What shaft did you test with?

    I have a set of Adams Idea A1 "Hybrid" irons, 4-PW, with graphite shafts. Question: Are they really hybrids?

    I pulled a shaft from a driver and a piece of hardened epoxy stayed inside the head and it rattles. It seems a little too big to shake it out of the hosel. What is the best way get this annoying piece out of the head?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад

      you may not be able to get it out. In that case I would recommend rat glue. short for rattle stop. a few squirts in the hosel into the head and it will catch and hold the bugger.

    I was wondering, these are demo clubs, so interchangeable clubheads to test with different shafts...right?
    Is it legal to play with such clubs?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад +1

      I think it would be as long as you didn’t adjust or change them in a round

      Well..in my case it's only one fixed position, so that would be no issue. It's a about the Cleveland wedges fitting set.
      Some people say that these demo clubs can't be used ( illegal ) but those shafts, adapters and clubheads having the same weight/feel/flex as a fixed version.
      It's a fixed position...and really no different in connectivity compared to drivers, hybrids and woods. Therefor they should be legal...I guess?!
