I took a friend's set of launchpad irons out for a round just to try them out. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable rounds ever. Every shot just had me laughing at how easy the clubs were to use. A week later I swapped my PXG irons for a full set of launchpads. To give an idea of my game my driver ss is 112mph, handicap 9.2. after bagging the launchpads my handicap has dropped down to 6.9. The launchpads are definitely a conversation starter on the course and everyone is surprised when they have a go but unfortunately there is far too much ego in golf for them to make the switch. Love the clubs!
I bought the Wilson Launchpads, and my handicap as come down by 3. Took a bit of getting used to the look of them, but happy with them.
I am an older golfer 67, I have in the past used the Cleveland and Wilson irons like these, started out both times loving them but found myself with a case of the "lefts" I went back to the Ping 425's played them this entire year and find them easier to control and actually gained distance. I think companys now can make a more standard iron set that works just as well or better then the "hybird" sets. I do agree that these clubs can work to help improve some golfers games though. FYI I am a 12 hdcp.
I am 65. I have a 3W, 5W, 7W, 9W, 11W, 8i-PW, SW LW. I am an 11 handicap. I really like these Eleven hybrids. If I can get a set, I will try them (a used set would be best). I am not getting younger and I will take all the help I can. I hit the woods I have pretty accurately in the short grass as long as I do not try to swing to hard.
I’m an older golfer with a slow swing speed. I have slowly replaced my irons with hybrids. The only irons I carry are 8, 9 and PW. I have 4, 5, 6 and 7 M6 hybrids and a SIM 3 hybrid. The hybrids just make it easier to hit the ball. Keep up the great content DH.
Little late but I play eleven hybrids and I think there awesome. I would definitely recommend these to people that have trouble using regular irons as I do. I hit regular irons bad I can’t get any consistency but with the elevens I am doing good and there is extra yardage as well.
I used my 3 & 4 hybrids so much for a few rounds I figured I would try an older set of Adams I found real cheap. I played those so well, I thought what about a whole set. I have used a full set of Lazrus hybrids 2-PW for about 18 months. They give me more consistency for sure.
I love my Callaway X 7 down to PW. So, I made another change recently. I picked up a set of Adams V3 hybrids 7-GW, I use the Lazrus 2-6 hybrids and the Lazrus wedges. Now I think I have my bag for a while.
I just never felt right hitting 7-PW in. Wood type hybrid. Hitting my Callaway irons just as well, I moved to the Adams V3, now it feels right. They are more like the Launchpads vs the 11’s.
Can you contact Wilson and get Lee a full set of them and then try a few different balls to see if he can find his missing spin?
Maybe after that a nice friendly course vlog to see how they perform for him on course.
Great video Dan. Good to see a honest unbiased review of these clubs. I have the Launchpad. A word of warning if you go and test these irons against your own, take your money, because you won't want to leave without them. You'll also realise what a fool you've been trying to do, for years, what this type of club gives you straight away. Pleasure goes up, handicap comes down.
Great review. I just purchased the Wilson Launch Pad.
Been struggling for months with strike with my irons. Driver and putting fine. Been hitting between 79-86. Purchased a cheap set of 2nd hand Cleveland launch hb irons. 1st round with them shot 75. 14/18 gir with a few 3 putts. Swallowed my pride and keeping them until at least the summer. Confidence inspiring is an understatement. Give these types of iron a go
Had the T-rail cobras for a while now and they are great
Fantastic - want to see these in Lee’s bag asap
Can’t wait to see these out on the course
I have purchased a set of elevens and as set of Thomas hybrids to play around with and I love them. I did this because I loved my ping hybrids and toyed with the idea of buying pings from 2 to 7 but the cost was through the roof. I got the set of elevens 3 to wedge for 400 . I still swap around from irons to hybrid just because I love my taylormade 790 as well. Nobody has said anything to me about playing hybrids to be honest. In my opinion you play what works for you and if your getting good results on the course then that’s what puts a smile on your face. Lee the 8,9 and wedge works just as easy as the 6
Great video which gets me thinking big time. As Im getting older will try to put ego in a box and have a try, unfortunately it’ll have to be when visiting uk but thought provoking
Played with a good 4 hc player all his clubs were woods right down to the SW, I think the brand was Mazaki. Very straight and easy to hit.
Im looking into this, I have spent over 5000$ on clubs trying to find the right ones, and woods are the only clubs I can hit well. I may do this
Good vid. Its always good to get some forgiving clubs I the bag. I think the wilson is a better looking club and have seen the eleven clubs in a PW and couldn't imagine putting them in the bag
Nice review , I guess like most golfers I wouldn’t fancy them in my bag as they just don’t fit my eye. I could play possibly down to a six hybrid but that would be as far as I would go.
Got a set of Launchpads from ebay and liked them a lot including their looks however in the end I didn’t hit them any better than other irons I had to use. Would be great to see you both testing these on course.
6’4 35 years old, average swing speed of 100mph and I use the Wilson LP 1 irons 4-PW. Super forgiving and easy to get the ball in the air. Can’t recommend them enough! Brought me down from 16hcp to 12 in 6 months
Great review Cobra also do hybrid irons.
Haven’t been able to play gol for 15 months for health reasons. Play off 19 so absolutely no ego. Hoping to start playing again early next year and I’m deffo going to look at hybrid or game improvement irons.
The dispersion, size to side was actually better for both of you on the Eleven hybrid and line is more important on any shot than an extra 2% in distance.
Lots of positives for hybrid and iron hybrid. I play a couple of hybrids myself swapping out my 22 degree for my 4 iron in the winter months. My 19 degree stays in the bag throughout the year because I hit it so well. Not sure I would go to a 6 iron replacement tbh, but for some it will be what makes them enjoy golf more. Hitting a heavy 6 iron and seeing it fall out of the sky like a stone miles short of target is probably the most annoying thing for some. With the 6 iron replacement I reckon it would be harder to chunk a shot. Great review both
Interesting review boys maybe there is a lot in what you say about ego preventing people from using these irons as they were used for beginners in the past.
And agreed they are becoming used more in longer irons nowadays as they are easier to hit.
I tested the Cobra T-rails and Cleveland HB Turbos before purchasing the Tour Edge Ironwoods. I love the Ironwoods and was able to hit them about 5 yds further than the Clevelands. I am a 20 handicap who returned to golf at 63 years of age after a 16 year layoff. I grow tired of hearing reviewers saying that ultimate game improvement clubs are ugly. Golf is hard enough, so do yourself a favor and play the clubs that provide the most help for your game!!! And I couldn't care less what people think about my clubs!
Got the Cleveland versions. Even thin shots get up. I go 4,5,6,7 in the launcher xl halo then the rest Cleveland uhx from 8 up. They’re just hybrids that are super playable
I would love to test the eleven set, particularly the 9 and PW. Have never seen anything more than a 6 hybrid available as a demo anywhere though
Would love to see the Launchpads vs the Stealth HDs. Seem to be good competitors.
Yes! Do an ultimate comparison of Eleven, vs TM HD, vs Wilson LP2, vs Cobra T-Rail, vs Cleveland HB! Would be crazy awesome
I don't know... I tried the Cobra T-Rails vs my Cobra F9 irons and I hit them far the same distance. F9s launch higher too and controls better. Maybe I don't hit hybrids well enough. Good to try tho. Maybe outdoors will be different result.
I've been playing the Wilson Launchpro 2 for about 1 year now and love them... Thinking about getting the Eleven hybrid 3 & 4 because Wilson does not make the Launchpro 2 in those lofts...
Useful info about Eleven - they currently do not produce lefty clubs !
However they said they hope to change this soon before the end of 2023 ! If this happens I am seriously thinking of getting a set !
I’ve got the Wilson LP 3 W and 3 hybrid. Great clubs, do what it says on the tin, for me really like the LP range
In Highbridge was Zaki do them as well sand wedge, too 5 iron
Company called heavenly hybrid have been doing full hybrids for ten years at least. Also Acer have been doing them for a while as well
Unfortunately Roy, I have not heard of both those companies, I will loom them up 👍
Great comparison vid again , think Wilson might have a new ambassador in the making there remarkable consistency. Would we lose the TreeLee monika? Point of interest at what point does the game improvement requirement stop for a player regarding equipment. Ego cant be the only issue or the tour players bags would be full of these clubs maybe shot shaping or playing off the tighter tour lies penalising rough maybe or have i missed the obvious?
I would love to get my dad into a set of the Elevens. I think they would be a huge help with him not playing golf much anymore.
I don't have either of these makes of clubs but I do like using Hybrids and got myself the cheapest hybrids from Amazon and they are called Wazaki Hybrid Irons. They look like a hybrid and they are the ugliest clubs in my bag BUT they are awesome clubs. I carry a 4 and 7 and they are my go-to clubs from certain distances as they are just so forgiving. I could not care less how they look, and for the record they have a blue shaft and a blue head. All I want to do is score well and playing off 5.6 I can tell you that there is no ego in my game and I game whatever helps me maintain, and improve, my handicap and these types of clubs do that.

I do think you guys should take a full bag of those clubs out for a round to give us a real perspective. Might be fun and definitely interesting.
Lee, you'd better get the Wilson, you hit them so well. Leave your ego out of it easier said that done. Your scores will come down quite a bit. That said, I do understand how ego plays a large part in our purchases as well as looks. Cheers.
I think Krank golf do a hybrid set too.
I have purchased an Eleven 3i just to give them a try. My logic is for most mid to high handicappers a regular 3i has no business in your bag. Same for the 4i in most cases. If I can hit the Eleven say 200 yards, it would likely kick my 3w out of the bag. If I can hit it well, by definition the lower lofted clubs should be easier to hit then.
I have tried the cleveland halos and they still look to much like irons I mess it up haha, I have a cobra fmax 27 degree hybrid its my favorite club, looks just like this set of Elevens, I would love to get a set just dont know if I can risk the $600 to have them shipped to the US and never be able to resell them if I dont like.
Well hell I just found a set of Lazrus 2-PW. Much cheaper. ordered a set. cant wait to try them out
I am a golfer that would benefit from these. However,,, long term appearance has always been a concern for me with hybrid irons. The paint chips like crazy, and while ego wouldn’t prevent me from using 14 head covers, it is just a logistical mess in the bag. Wilson is getting really close on the long term appearance by being mostly chrome/stainless, and if that black portion was a vulcanized rubber or plastic insert of some sort, they’d have a big winner. They already look better than any other brand of hybrid iron. I just can’t deal with paint chipping on the heads, it is a big deal breaker for me regardless of performance.
The earliest iteration of hybrid irons I can recall were, I believe, Spalding Executive XE…? There was a good local player back in the old days using them. He was routinely a target of sly looks and snickers on the first tee, until people saw how well he hit them. At the end of the round, snickers became legit questions respectfully asked. LOL
What about the Mizuno JPX hybrid irons and the Cobra T-rail hybrid irons?
We have done the T-Rail, really good clubs 👍
Thoughts on Wilson LP vs dynapower vs cobra t-rails?
They way I've been striking it I should play these 2 hahahaha
Enjoy your new clubs Lee. :-) On a more serious note, for me at least, distance with irons is irrelevant. What I want is a consistent distance. If I need longer I just grab more club.
Not seen you on the comments for a while Robert, good to have you back 👍
@@DanHendriksenGolf Thank you Dan. I never miss a video. Love you adding Lee to the mix.
Dano Great vid. I have custom set up my own clubs going back to the 1990 area have always done that. I currently have my set which consists of sim2 heads 31 28 25 22 19 i shafted accordingly covers me from 140 to 200 yards then go to 8 iron up .I also have some Pinemeadow heads. (Amazon) that go from 46 down to 32 degrees shafted accordingly that I interchange with my shorter irons when it’s soggy turf. I ditched the ego a long time ago and I am a lower handicap for my age 72 but have outplayed most guys for years using this method heads have been around for years to jury rig IT WORKS Merry XMASS
Guys what about "Thomas " golf clubs they produce Hybrid irons and a very extensive range of Woods !
Bought the eleven 3i and can't play it yet. Play currently off a 12.8
Have you tried the ram wizard? Read alot of positive reviews from people that have bought them but not seen anyone doing a rewiew of them. 274quid for 4-pw is a crazy good price
Have you done review on Wazaki hybid full set ???
No
I am seriously thinking about ordering one of these clubs....i like hitting hybrids so these might suit me perfectly....i am a 7 handicap at 58 years old using stealth irons currently....alot of arthritis...so these would make the game sustainable for me i think.....Your thoughts ? nice review....cheers from Vulcan Canada
Have you looked or used any arthritis gloves?
@@DanHendriksenGolf did not know of such a thing
Is this not the same video Pete finch just done?
Lol, we did actually laugh when Pete’s went live, we had filmed it before he released his 😂
Those hybrid like things looked clearly too short in length for Lee.
If I got a set of those Elevens, I’m not sure I could take the peer group abuse and constant jibes about having a bag full of 3 woods and mallets 😂
So sad
Maybe grow a set then? 🤣
Seems like Lee would benefit from these clubs from 4-7, perhaps. Then go with a game improvement iron like the Srixon zx4 from 8-PW.
I’m bagging Callaway Apex UW’s in 17 & 21 degrees, Mizuno 923 Fli-Hi hybrids in 23 & 26 degrees, then the zx4 irons 7-PW. The hybrids and irons both have Modus 105 stiff shafts, and the hybrids are same length as the irons they replaced. Loving this set-up! I’m 55 and a 15 handicap.
Get lee back in course vlogs dont just leave him doing reviews
Tech wise the Eleven has bulge and roll.
