- Happy Tuesday yall! Today's video is going to be ALL the prep to make my mosaic garden globe/gazing ball. This piece took so long to create and is taking even longer to edit. So I apologize in advance if you aren't one that loves videos split into parts, I had to do it. Just too much info to have to cut out if I wanted to make it into even a single 30 or 40 minute video. I hope you guys enjoy where this is going and are just as excited as I am to see part 2! I am getting it edited as you read this! I hope you feel inspired to start making your own garden globe or maybe just a mosaic of any kind! It's so much fun. I like using a product called Epsilon to coat foam! it's basically an epoxy coating that is meant to coat foams. I haven't used it to mosaic though but I imagine it would work fine.

@@MakenzieHallie oh yeah it’s murder out there. I’ve been weeding as usual and tending to my property and have to peel off my clothes that are soaked onto me. The only saving grace is that I let the hose shower over me as I water. Well water is quite the shock though. I’ve been on top of the weeds and it’s looking so much better. Damn turkeys are messing with my onions so it’s war. Your pups keeping cool?

Just a thought... yes I am going to do something like this, one change would be, borrowing the idea from how I do my kerdi board mosaics, instead of inserting the cone in the bottom, I would force a wire through to the other side, wedge/secure with a washer and feed back down and affix. Items on my deck tend to grow legs and walk off. Love your ideas!
@breathless9145 totally. I was just tying to make it as "simple", affordable and easy as possible for those trying to remake it who maybe aren't as handy and have all the tools/bolts, etc etc etc that we do in our basements. 😂 I will absolutely be making some more in the future and with some different bases. 🤭🤫

I’m excited to see the next video of this garden globe-I absolutely love all your videos! I haven’t attempted a mosaic yet but you’ve inspired me to try one. I have so many glass scraps that would work well for a mosaic but I’ll need to get tile nippers. I’m due for another trip to Toy Town-that’s almost 3 hours from us but worth the drive. Would love to see you there sometime! I didn’t make it to their tent sale because my husband had a couple gigs that weekend (he’s a keyboard player) so I had to miss it.

I used an old bowling ball many years ago, it is a long and tedious project.
Isn't it! Idk why I just wasn't anticipating how long this one actually took. I think the curve just throws you for a mosaic loop. Lol!
I did the same on a dryer drum, seriously, had it out at the end of the drive way within 6 months a car ran up into the area and destroyed it. Talk about a huge let down and a lot of crying. By the way, I still have my bowling ball, its been outside over 20 years, lot a few pieces of glass, but still there!
Oh my god no way. I absolutely would have cried too just out of frustration, anger and of course just disappointment. What a fkn art loss man. How heavy was the bowling ball by the time you finished it?! 😂😂 and did you sand it first? Maybe I'll do a bowling ball next.
@@MakenzieHallie , Didn't sand it, probably should have, It was very heavy at least 8-10 LB . I really should repair it and reseal it.
