Yes! I love the idea of the hanging bar! I jammed my shoulder by falling, windmilled, backwards off a bosu ball and a year later, inline skating. I swim 5 days a week and my shoulders ache. I modify my strokes but.... I'm 72 and in good health, just arthritic. Thank you for your videos ❤
From 158kg and severe health and spine problems i can thank you for over time. Improving my stroke style from completely incompete to almost competent. Although i have just faken 2 weeks off due to a sore shoulder from not breast stroking correctly. The pull up bar would be a great help. Especially if it was on some kind of cable... flying fox type thing allowing for different depths. Might cause some safwty issues as kids would find it a fantastic play toy.
Well done! Same here 160kg + starting point. First hard way -20kg. Yoyo-ed in pandemic +10kg. Lost 20kg since, mainly swimming. This channel helped a lot! Keep being a hero. Keep swimming 🏊♂️🏊♀️
My grandfather 95, passed away last year. He was in the army and a farmer after. He could sit straight even in his final days and mostly slept on his back on a hard mattress and a hard slim pillow.
I've already suggested to friends hanging on a bar to help fixing their spine and it worked very well for them. I do all points recommended and feel good with 36 years age. Had to laugh and smile when comming to the best solution at 8:10 :) 🏊♂ This channel is upfront and gives usefull advice, love it!
Kaching Kaching! I will be a volunteer with my wife. I am 68.Thin. 5'7". 128 lbs. Swim 3 days a week in a spring in Florida. Then we hike forbalmost 4 miles through the woods with the ticks and rotten fire ants that crawl into unmentionable places. We practice breathing similar to what you showed here. I cannot do the Dolphin🤔🥵! Sign us up. We will be your humble subservient slaves! Thanks from Florida.
I find as a body worker those that lay on their side when sleeping anterior rotate their shoulder until all the muscle attachments become so hyperextend between their spine and their scapula that they inflame your sleep pattern is one-third of your life don't spend it hurting yourself
One year ago as I started preparing a triathlon I stumbled upon your videos. Probably watched a few hours of them. They're amazing. And now as training season starts again for me, I see this video in my feed, like a sign. Looking forward to the next weeks :) Thank you.
You can use resistance band or a pulley system to deload weight for pullups or deadhangs. You should also look at rock climbing it's very good for posture, a lot of hanging, strengthening back muscles and core strength. My posture improved dramatically after starting rock climbing and focussing on pull-ups.
It was a great video🔥 I learn some of this information from other sources but I just wonder that you gather them all👌👌 I appreciate for this helpful hints🙏 And please make more videos about shoulder impingement (swimmer shoulder)
My back hurts in my scapula area. I’ve been able to deduce that it because of my neck being forward in a hunch position the majority of the time since I work with computers. I wish there was a way I could correct this other than forcing myself to reposition & correcting my posture consciously because when I correct my head posture it hurts to hold it in the correct position.
Many years of software dev and prior to that electronics service, my back and neck were in constant pain. I’ve had some relief via a PT that used the McKenzie Technique and also getting a massage by a licensed Massage Therapist. Swimming is a plus and a minus. Plus, since it’s great exercise, and minus, since it’s very technical and done wrong could be a slow future pain. So, leaning into learning Total Immersion style.
Your videos are lit and getting better each time, but I don't see A-Aron coming back, we miss him! How is he doing? I have chronic back, shoulders and neck pain for 20 years. I do and try to learn everything to improve, I have made lots of phisiotherapy exercises, strengthening and stretching routines and I agree with all what you just said. At the end of the day mobility and swimming works the best for me. I really need this video to be uploaded on the Spanish channel to share with my family and non English speaking friends. You just explained very well a journey I have been figuring out myself for years
This is a great comment. Thank you! I will translate it this week and publish it in our channel in Spanish! Thank you for watching, commenting and sharing 🙂
question: what is better for the spine during the underwater dolphin kick - looking down at the bottom of the pool or looking forward into the direction you swim?
This really doesn't make sense. You are saying that the spine needs movement and that you should shift positions while doing certain activities. Swimming only works the spine in a horizontal position, so it becomes a bad habit if you don't counteract with different exercises. I swam competitively for 9 years and my posture is terrible. And if you don't believe me, look at professional swimmers. Swimmer's shoulder is a medical term used for a reason. Also, the water compresses your rib cage and makes breathing harder, making the diaphragm weak, obliging other aiding breathing muscles to work harder.
My local pool kind of had two pull up bars at different heights by accident. They were parts of the support for a spiral waterslide, but worked great for hanging from.
Maybe your phone is making you move less 🤔 How long can you hold a bad position without looking at your phone? Not too long probably. Maybe the phone is the issue, not the posture.

Feeling confident is not just in our brain, but also in the way our body projects itself.
Basically, move around. We as a adults make things so complicated.

10:06 Now I must try to swim like that😅
A good way to grab attention
The hanging bar is a daily part of my routine. Besides that, I used to swing on the high/horizontal bar as a gymnast.....

The hanging bar over water idea is great!

Very interesting! It would also be cool to have a rock climbing wall next to the pool. If you fall you, you fall in the pool. I've seen those.
Love your sense of humour

whoa you actually provide sources !!

Pain? I'm 73 and have no idea of what you speak. 😅 cars and bicycles cause distortion Anyone who cannot swim underwater cannot really swim
Could you please name the muscles / muscle groups that don’t get worked out while swimming?
The infraspinatus and teres minor muscles are the main ones. But also Lower traps and romboids.
I thought it was the supraspinatus because you have a lot of inside rotation and not so much outside rotation..?
How do you train the M. Teres Minor?
Thank you for the super helpful video
Great content ❤great job❤keep it up brother ❤️thank you
Muy bueno el video y el resto del canal. Has mejorado un montón comunicando, enhorabuena!
Gracias 🙏
Best video👍 thank you
Glad you liked it!
Instead of water you can use a band to hang with less weight.
Loads over head (water bottles) Work fine as well 🤗
But I'm still in for the 1.000 people Swim Team ❤
9:12 Would you consider making a whole video about those exercises ? Thank you !
I'm going to make a course in our app for shoulder health and strength 💪
Thanks..my lbp has fixed w swimming
Great video. Why do you seem to be moving in slow motion?
What do you think about neck rolling? Thanks.
underrated!
Do other sports help relax the spine? I play tennis almost everyday and can only swim once a week.
Tennis helps move the spine. If it doesn't hurt then it's a great exercise!
question: what is better for the spine during the underwater dolphin kick - looking down at the bottom of the pool or looking forward into the direction you swim?
Looking down will let you have a tighter streamline and will be better for the position of your spine, specially close to the neck.
@@SkillsNT Thank you so much for your answer!!! BTW love your video's!
Video starts at 6:45
By the age of 50, most will have herniated neck disks? What causes the herniation??

Jujitsu is very horizontal
Thank you
You're welcome
do you have an idea of when the next swimming story is gonna appear?
Next year as the Olympics approach 😉
@@SkillsNT Great! Thank you.
Can you make video on neck hump

That's awesome
Fantastic
Thank you so much 😀
U earned a subscriber 😅
I still don't know if there is a healthy posture😢
Don't pay too much attention to your posture. The important part is to move and to move as often as you can.
@@SkillsNT hehe, just kidding, got the message from the video thanks 🙃
Always Swimming it's my Hart 😊
* dry bones noises *
😂 hope you meant this to be funny cause it’s the 1st time I’ve laughed today…because I completely identify with your comment!

What skills are you struggling with most?
🎉❤🎉❤
THE ANSWER IS SWIMMING SAVE YOUR TIME
🏊🏽♀️💙
Stretch your neck
8:20 🏊♀️🏊♂️❤❤❤
this posture causes to decrease oxygen levels to your posture brain
Nonsense.
BS I’m 45 I never had these back aches until this phone and I had great posture
Maybe your phone is making you move less 🤔 How long can you hold a bad position without looking at your phone? Not too long probably. Maybe the phone is the issue, not the posture.
@@SkillsNT i’m a tree climber arborist, so I’m always moving
I also have a massage therapist lic.
@@SkillsNT yes, this damn phone is the issue lol
@@tebone3573 tree climbing! that must also get you into really “bad” postures. But it’s fine because you are moving.
This could have been a 5 minute video
