Nice, simple build that not only looks great; it's very functional with the electrical outlet. You could utilize a light fixture with the built-in dusk to dawn feature and eliminate the light switch. This is a great planter for those who live in any type of rental property because it's portable!

Fantastic design and I love the way you showed how to build.
I wouldn't worry too much about the miter joints, with expansion and contraction because of weather it is not going to be something noticeable.
You could also use a solar powered light if the planter is somewhere you don't have an electrical source and also great for people like me who don't trust themselves with electrics :D

  • @Oonagh72

Damn! This is smart. Beginning to end. You could custom make a lamp that fits. If you put wheels on this and it isn’t hardwired it can be something you could move around. This could even work indoors.

Normally I just fast forward through the adds in other videos but the way you kept the video going while including the add. Very clever and beneficial for both the advertiser and viewer.

Nice build looks really good. Here in the UK it would be illegal. We are not allowed to mix socket outlets and lighting as they are rated differently. Lighting is rated 5amp and ring mains 15-30 amp. In your case if you had a fault on the lighting side it would not blow the circuit breaker. In your case we would use a 15amp ring main then install a spurred outlet with a 3amp fuse to run to the lighting. I think we are different because we are working with 240v which can be a killer if you get it wrong

Your projects are really nice, and your presentation is so pleasant - you make this all work so well! I have two suggestions: you should not use those stab in the back connections for your wiring, as they are minimal in contact and often will vibrate out over time. On your miter corners you can try a carpenters trick where you burnish the edges together, rubbing with a screwdriver shaft usually works well. Practice with some scraps. I know it works well on trim, but I have not tried it on composites.
Thanks for your encouraging and inspiring videos!
