“Jason and Alex DePue playing a casual “off the cuff” reading of an arrangement of “Break My Stride” (ie “I’ve got to keep on movin’ “). Circa 2019 at Jason’s Elkins Park home. You might notice Victor the kitty cat wandering around throughout the video. This video, which has been around for a while, is an official release to commemorate Alex’s passing on January 27th, 2022. The biggest talent in our family, I’ll deeply miss Alex, his bigger than life personality, as well as his extreme musical appetite, a type of hunger and thirst he could never quench; he was always searching for more creativity, new musical ideas, and this particular video is one of tons of examples of how Alex basically knew all the repertoire of all genres from basically every decade. …..Alex brought together this arrangement and video with a supporting role on guitar, within the evening that we were able to develop this original “scratch take”. Hope you find it enjoyable and that it puts a smile on your face, especially for those who knew Alex.”
