Hey mate, are you on a Mac? The default Mac unzipper doesn't like big files sometimes. You can either google free mac unzipping software and use a different one, or else e-mail me and I can help you out. Cheers!
hello !!! do you have a tip to deform those VDB and make holes inside ? (like boolean or volume builder options). I'd like to make a hole inside, like an isolated empty space inside the Cloud. Thinking of a view from inside a cockpit of a plane for exemple. Is it possible?
It depends on your render engine. You can change the import units of a VDB from Meters to Decameters or something else in Octane. You can also change it under the VDB objects coordinates tab and change the scale there...
I don't think Photoshop can import VDBs, so you would have to render it out of Cinema 4D or a 3D application and import it into photoshop as a .psd, .png etc. with an alpha channel...
Hello. Please can you help me. when i add more then 1 cloud i have some strange artefacts on intersections of VDB container. it`s look like strong box lines. i use Cinema 4d R19 and OOctane render v.4
2 part question for you.. how can you animate them? The ones in your videos are pretty static, but would look much better with some slight movement. Pt. 2, I’ve tried moving them around a bit but get strange lines in the middle of them, almost as if the bounding boxes are showing up. Any fix for that you can think of?
Unfortunately there isn't a really good way to add animation to them that I know of. Cinema 4D's deformers can't affect VDBs which is a shame. As for part 2, there are some resources on forums that address this that might help: render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58354&p=300277&hilit=vdb+overlapping#p300277 render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=75078
Ha. Circling around now back to this post some three years later and I see I already asked the same question I had back then! Surely there has to now be a way to animated them, especially with all of the newest versions of C4D having all the pyro stuff! We'll see.. I'll come back here and share if I find anything useful! cheers@@thepixellab2011
I've been playing around with this for a while now. Trying to use vdb files to create thin fog, but I've noticed that at low levels of density, it gets quite binary, whereby the fog is either there or not there. It just eventually (but abruptly) disappears, and then when you increase the density a tiny fraction, it jumps up to being very dense. Is that your experience too?
Hey! Amazing clouds! I'm having a problem when I put one cloud next to another, the green container has like an invisible border and it's super visible in render, do you have any idea how to fix it?
@@86harleys Hmm, strange. I'm on vacation right now, but I will try and figure it out when I get back. Have you tried doing a crytomatte and see if that works?

already bought getting started
Thanks for the tutorial, very useful.
thank you so much
Buying this tonight. I love the variations!
thank you so much!! already using it in my future next insta post
Awesome! Tag me in it so I can see it when you post! :)
Nice, I have tried to create fog with a couple of different methods, most of them unsuccessful, this seems pretty easy to work with!
thanks man for your sharing
Thanks for this.
Awesome video! How to scale a VDB up?
I bought the cloud package 3 today, unfortunately I can not unzip it, because always comes an error message saying that the archive is not complete.

Octane doesnt seem to want to work with the Animated clouds pack. Ive adjust the frames....but it only says "VDB: Not Found!"
Shoot me an e-mail and I will help you out. joren@thepixellab.net
Due to some reason I'm not seeing clouds in Octane live viewer can u tell me a fix?

Amazing, i have a questions, can use in past version of octane, 3.8? Thanks
Yes, you can use it in older version of Octane, no problem.

hey great stuff but please how do i use this in corona ?
I'm really sorry, but I don't use Corona so I can't be of much use :(
yeah great and all, but all my clouds are grey, how do i make them white? Would of been nice to add that in the tutorial.

@thepixellab2011 does it work with the new blender version and openvdb support?
I haven't tested it, but I believe it does, yes....

Can they be animated?
They aren't pre-animated, no, but I'm sure you could find a way to add some deformers to slowly move them...

perhaps use regular Octane fog volumes instead

How do you render them out as a pass?
I actually haven't tried, but I know it's possible. Have you tried a object buffer using Octane tags and IDs?
Yeah I tried placing an object pass on it but it didn’t work.
