- The F7 Mini Pocketlite is the newly designed RGB LED light from FalconEyes, with included app support for Android and IOS, 20 scene effects, RGB, HSI, CCT, and even a really cool Dropper Selection tool you use with the camera on your phone. This light really gives the Aputure MC a run for its money, as this light packs more features, with more accessories, and comes in at a fraction of the price. In this video, I'm going to Compare it directly to the Aputure MC as well as a quick unboxing, tutorila on how to use the light and the Desal Lite app, as well as some basic lighting setups and reviews.

Nice vid man, They just sent this to me for my review. Can't wait!
Thanks! It's a great little light. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Hey thanks man. Appreciate all the feedback and video. Ima get the mini for now I think
For sure. Looks like they are charging an extra $20 at B&H ($79). Feel free to use my Amazon link and get it for $59
Great video lots of info. I'm sold!
Cool vid man thanks for sharing. I just got my F7 mini and I will also be sharing a review video . Very Nice light so far. 💯💪🎥
Thanks man. I will check it out.
thanks men
Great video man. I’m looking to get a light to use on my 35mm film camera to give some fill light on portraits and I love that you can control the colour with the app. Do you think the F7 mini would be bright enough to use as a fill light in daylight for closeup / upper body shots ?
It does well for a small 5W light. At close range, you can definitely see some fill, and (some nice Eye Light) but if you use the silicon diffusion it definitely loses some punch. In shady, darker situations it would be great, but extreme Backlit shots, you'd have to be very Close Up.
@@RayValencia thanks for the tips. I look forward to testing it out !
Question on the effects. How are the patterns, like the lightning and TV modes etc...? Are they repetitive patterns making them look cheesy and fake or are they sporadic patterns tor more realistic effects? thanks!
Great video! One question - did you ever find out if you can independently control more than one within the app? I heard you say there's a group mode but I'm unsure if that changes all the lights at the same time.
Thanks Larry! They haven't sent me any other lights yet. I'll keep you posted here.
@@RayValencia Thanks for getting back to me. If you don't mind, I have one more question - can you combine the diffuser and the grid like you could on the larger FalconEyes F7?
Be great to find out about this. It’d be super useful to be able to control them independently from the app.
Can you connect the light with Alexa too? Or it is incompatible?
What has a stronger lux from the two?
I know this is super late but of all recent pocket lights the MC has the lowest lux I’ve found…
Which light do u like better Aputure mc or f7 mini or are they pretty much the same
Similarities, but there's double the effects on the F7, all customizable. Plus the extra modifier.
@@RayValencia I’m guessing the brightness has to be about the same
To the eye, they appear to be the same brightness, but the F7 mini is 537 lux @ 0.5m, and the Aputure MC is only 400 lux @ 0.5m.
Is it RGBWW and bi-color? Not sure what the difference is. Thanks!
Hi Tyler. Yes, it is both. Bi-Color meaning it can match Warm (Tungsten) indoor lighting and still be able to go all the way to match Cool (Daylight) lighting. And it can do ALl the RGBWW colors and FX, controlling Hue, Saturation, and Intensity.
thanks for the video.. which is brighter? f7 or mc
To the eye, they appear to be the same brightness, but the F7 mini is 537 lux @ 0.5m, and the Aputure MC is 400 lux @ 0.5m.
@@RayValencia Hey thanks a lot for that info!.. Might go with the f7, although have seen some ppls rattle when they shake it back and forth. Does yours do this? thanks
Would be great if a comparison video is made b/w f7 and f7 mini .
@@rumirumarr6452 No, no rattling in mine. Solid little light.
@@unfriendlyfriend4582 The original F7 is bigger and brighter, but it did not have the new Desal Lite App, so the Mini has unfair advantage in that regards. I think we should all be on the lookout for an updated version of the og F7 sized light with the new Desal Lite. Stay tuned to the channel.
can you use it while charging?
Yes, on some shoots, I use mine while plugged into the wall using the USB-C port
@@RayValencia thanks, wanted to make sure that the F7 Mini Pocketlite works plugged in, love the video
@@rkeantube Stay tuned, FalconEyes just sent me a new light that you can link up with this light in the Desal App. Video and details coming soon.
Cool vid man thanks for sharing. I just got my F7 mini and I will also be sharing a review video . Very Nice light so far. 💯💪🎥
Thanks. I still use it all the time. Part of my daily lighting kit for jobs. So handy!!
