Loving these vids! I've made the decision and I'm going to attempt the trail. I'm training, but I have to get surgery at the end of this year so I may have to push my hike out until 2024. But, I thank you for this motivation I get every day now!

You had a beautiful day. That was a loud jet just before Tray Mtn. I had a C-130 flying low over the top of Tray as I ate lunch up there. Glad to hear you son's surgery went well. Keep Trekking!

Looked it up because I too wondered... "The Swag of the Blue Ridge is The gap between Tray and Dismal Mountains. A swag is an old mountain term for a gap between two lofty peaks."
Thank you for sharing your journey!

Thanks for taking us along! great day of hiking. great news on your son, Prayers for a quick recovery, and all the best to your family. I am curious what brand/type of water filtering system you are using, if you don't mind letting us know.

Thanks. Sure thing, I use the Katadyn BeFree. It’s very simple quick and efficient and the water flow rate is outstanding. I highly recommend.

New subscriber. I'm looking forward to following your journey. I'm seriously considering doing a thru-hike starting Spring 2024, as I'm set to retire in about 6-weeks. I'm 52 and have been thinking about this opportunity for quite some time. Do you have a video where you detail your reasons for doing the hike? Mine are due to the fact that I love "everything" outdoors, I love adventure, and I just love the opportunity to simply be alone sometimes.

You should do it! I’m 52 as well. Keep in mind the trail is a very social trail. But you can make it what you want. 👍. Thanks for the subscribe!
