Great share Shannon. Always enjoy seeing throwback highlights like these and I always say that Bench has to be one of the greatest catchers to have played the game. Enjoyed.
@@backtothecardboard I used to visit my father in Columbus and listen to them on the radio. Joe Nuxall and Marty Brennamen, I can never forget. Plus my dad said they had a song in the mid 70’s.
Can make a decent argument that the 1975-76 Reds were the greatest team ever. The only thing they lacked was a true number one starter (apologies to Don Gullett). Had the Reds acquired Tom Seaver in 1975 instead of 1977, they might have sealed the deal.
Thurman Munson took offense how Sparky said he was no where in the class of Bench. and thats a little true but it got under Munsons skin so he got 6 straight hits to close out the series and hit .529 for the series and Bench hit .533
In 1975-76 when the Reds had all eight starters playing they went 64-16. That was the Big Red Machine!
Yes sir! What a great team!
You speak truth and wisdom, kind Sir.
Greatest catcher of all time! Thanks for sharing!
I agree! Thanks for watching!
Next to George Brett Johnny bench Ismy favorite player
Brett is one of my favs as well!
Ugh, i remember that WS. Bench was on fire & so was Thurman! Enjoyed the highlights.
2 great catchers for sure!
That World Series was a battle of the catchers.
Yes sir!
Best starting lineup of all time, especially with the DH. If they had better pitching, they would be the best team ever
I agree Frank!
That made up for a lot of us who remembered 1961 . . .
Yes sir
Great memories. I'm a huge johnny bench fan. Our heroes are getting old on us. Where does time go. The Reds in the 70s were pure excitement .
For sure. It’s sad.
Nice clip. Love hearing Sparky yelling.
Captain Hook telling the ball to get outta here!😂

Thank you Steve. Bench was great! Both offensively and defensively!
Great video and super clips. Enjoyed seeing Johnny's 2 WS HR's. Thanks for sharing Shannon.
Bench almost single handily won that series. Especially, game 4.😁 Thanks for watching my friend.
