My brother got me out of school, didnt tell my mother and he, a friend of his and i went early to Fenway, stood in line for hours and got bleacher seats. I still remember Yaz pop out to end hopes. Years later i still despise yet cherish Yankee players, still have their playing cards ( my younger family members beg for my collection, in fun) and i respect the rivalry.

Ya Red Sox fans loved Rivera and Jeter as well, I feel like between the ceremony we had at Fenway for those two (separate of course) and the one you guys had at Yankee stadium for Ortiz, there is a lot of respect for the opposing players and fanbases in those moments. We all had a lot of fun, and it was a great ride and we both go the better of eachother and both won it all after doing so. Respect to Red Sox. As a 3rd Generation NY born Yankees fan, I know we aren't all perfect, but some of us are.. respect. You gave Jeter a great ceremony, we can't match that but we can show we care too.

Love seeing great players get the respect they've earned, from the fans of their biggest rival. Then on top of that to have Mariano help honor Dave was awesome to see. Very much like the love Boston showed Jeter in his last game in Boston.
