Whenever I feel stupid I just come and watch some Pawn Stars and I see what amazing stuff people sell for just a little cash....and all of a sudden I don't feel so stupid anymore.
Gene Autry was a mega star. He owned the California Angels baseball team for over 35 years, television and radio stations and even at least one cable company. He sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer we still hear today.
Those 'tiny' cracks are huge for a guitar, repairing it would also make it lose its value. Most guitarists get annoyed even from a scratch on their guitar.
Ben Lee As far as the bridge goes that would very difficult to repair, but the top is very simple you put braces in the guitar body and fill the cracks with a strong anti acidic glue. It would not cost that much.
In the 1980s I saw a Martin model Guitar which was owned by Gene Autry , can´t remember which model Martin, on sale at Hanks (Denmark Street,London), some paperwork, authenticated, on sale for around 4500 pounds stirling
I’m only in my early 20s and I went to a flea market about a year ago and saw a Gene Autry knife and commented on it, and the two old men running the stand were blown away I knew who Gene was. I told them I don’t watch tv, but when I do I watch the classics.
Dude Corey and Chum are stoned AF and prolly coasting on the lingering effects of ice, but hey they're my brothers in this world and it's all good, you can just tell though, baked and coasting it hard core lol
JYOG GAMING The damage was the issue. Like he said he doesn't wanna break it when he's just trying to show it to somebody and have 750 go down the tube
@@BullDog757 If he put it on Ebay, the listing would sit there for years without any takers. Do people really believe these sellers didn't try to sell their items before going on Pawn Stars?
@@porkcutlet3920 exactly!! Then the guy buying it on ebay gets buyers remorse and ebay makes you pay double the return shipping so the buyer gets his money back promptly!!
It would cost a lot more than $151.00 to repair it. For a good luthier to fix it, I'm guessing, it would cost more than double that amount, probably between $400 to $600, depending on who does the repair.
Corey once said "I am risking one of my employees playing with the thing and breaking it." Never have I heard such a ridiculous reason for badly lowballing someone.
If the store put it in a case with a humidifier for a few days and replaced the bridge and oiled the fretboard and bridge and smoothed the frets and set it up for around $100 in total for everything they would have a good guitar
Most of you people don't know anything about business or collectibles. Corey has to re-sell for more than his purchase price. And many collectors don't want brittle items that might get worse.
Jesse..What a bullshitter, this is not an ebony bridge, there is one crack in the top and center-seam separation. The braces underneath are the same wood...they do shrink, but grain orientation is 90° and that makes a difference.
This guitar is not fit to be played OR displayed. And it's not worth restoring. All you people whining about robbery and low-balling....tell me....what would you do with it?? Crickets....
I’m going say that’s one of those that ended up in the garbage after a year on the shelf. I wouldn’t want that crap even if they gave it to me for free.
Whenever I feel stupid I just come and watch some Pawn Stars and I see what amazing stuff people sell for just a little cash....and all of a sudden I don't feel so stupid anymore.
Have you ever watched the TV show hoarders?
DShaker24 👍
You never know. May be he needed the money very urgently or simply didn't have the means to take it elsewhere better.
@@aarontrew1410You are talking about an illness.
It's not possible to be smart AND someone who watches TV aka the propoganda box.
Seller: Here is Willie Nelsons guitar, Trigger, what will you offer me for it? - Corey: Well, it's got a hole in it, so how about $10?
vtrmcs LOL.. That kind of owner idiocy is so brutal.. 😑 ugh...

also he started holiday inn
should have taken it to Norman's rare guitars
Why?
So he could get an actual deal
jay mitchell would have given him the true price and told him good info Mark Agnessi knows his stuff
Steven Burdette it's not really that rare.
Steven Burdette cool story bro did he dieded?
he got his extra dollar, its all that matters!
With that extra dollar he can go to the casino down the street and get the 99c shrimp cocktail!
and still have 1c to spend
ROGER2095 i can go 99c for that shrimp i tell you what 50c
Or McDonald's to buy a $1 cheeseburger.
Taxes
No, those 99¢ shrimp cocktails have been gone for about 7 or 8 years now.
"guitar has a little tiny crack" Rick: its gonna cost me thousands to repair
sadly it is thousands of dollar repairs depending on the age and the material of the guitar
you don't know shit about guitar, do you?
Those 'tiny' cracks are huge for a guitar, repairing it would also make it lose its value. Most guitarists get annoyed even from a scratch on their guitar.

easier way to fix it is to humidify the guitar those cracks will close up
this deal had me cracking up 😂
1. Humidify it for days; 2. take it to a real luthier for repair and setup; 3. keep it and play it for the rest of your life.
How did you end up with this?
He was afraid it would fall to bits. It is being around since 1939 and the minute he buying the guitar it is going to evaporate into thin air.
I've got to say, I rarely laugh about anything in life but you had me rolling with your comment!
He should have kept it.
My father told me the story of how my mother met Gene Autry in the 40s, on the street in Toronto.
Expert: in this shape you can sell it for 500-700 probably
Corey: il give you $100 bucks for it because its broken....
A comment on a different video mentioned Cory’s weird handshake extension and now I see it every time I watch
Why do people bring their vintage guitars to pawn shops?
He was a great role model for children and adults. Unlike celebrities now.
Wait a minute. I thought Roy Rogers was the King of the Cowboys

Ghost Certified .. Understood.. 👌🏻
cool stoy
He's going to frame that dollar and pawn it back at the store!
Dude Corey and Chum are stoned AF and prolly coasting on the lingering effects of ice, but hey they're my brothers in this world and it's all good, you can just tell though, baked and coasting it hard core lol
That guy was completely ignorant! For that amount I would have kept it solely for the historical value!
Love Gene Autrey😎
He should of took it to the Autry museum in Los Angeles, it's a museum, they would love to have it!
am I missing something I swear buddy told it would sell 750 he offered 100 that's low ball if I ever seen
Shane Holland they have to make a profit though
JYOG GAMING The damage was the issue. Like he said he doesn't wanna break it when he's just trying to show it to somebody and have 750 go down the tube
yeah he literally said he didn't really want it, so he made a lowball offer. The guy just could have put it on ebay and got more for it.

Gene Autry's guitar and Mr. Brown performed famously.
These Pawn guys don't know much about some of the stuff that comes in. It's amazing how often they have to call in experts on certain items.
Rob Bob Manipulation..🤥🤥🤥
My grandfather played the same model of guitar.
An extra dollar and he felt victorious....
Whatever floats his Boat.🤣👍👌
Jesse is , along with Rebecca and Mark the" bearded knowledge"
Those cracks could be fixed easily by stew mac and probably wouldn't cost much
Don’t sell your 1939 guitar to those dirtbags.
They had him there !!

I prefer Rick . Just saying
seller : $151 ?
buyer : nah, $151.50.
5150

Mad Pierrot you do realise he never said that, right? How stupid can you be?
If the store put it in a case with a humidifier for a few days and replaced the bridge and oiled the fretboard and bridge and smoothed the frets and set it up for around $100 in total for everything they would have a good guitar
I didn't realise John Wick reviewed guitars.
😂😂
Looks nothing like him
I think Corey should have still given him $200-$250 bucks!
It's a Gene Autry guitar, not Gene Autry's guitar. It was made by Harmony, for Sears in the 1940w.. Like Roy, Gene merchandized everything
let's hope they can bring him BACK
Most of you people don't know anything about business or collectibles. Corey has to re-sell for more than his purchase price. And many collectors don't want brittle items that might get worse.
Jesse looks like John Wick😂😂
With that extra dollar now he can get that mcdouble at mcdonalds
I Woulda said , if your so worried why’d ya bring in Jessie?
Does this guitar is played on a mic stand? way back but because it don't have a plug in cable?
I’ll never understand why people are so quick to part with their money. I should open a pawn shop.
the current generation doesn't even know who Gene Autry was. a lot of these collectibles will go down in value within the next 30 years.
I'd pay $151 just to hang it on my wall, but you know the Pawn Show will list it for $599.00

The Harrisons are very smart business people
Majority of the time they call in their experts people get lowballed. I am sure they tell their experts ahead of time on the phone lowball.
No they don't. You people have no idea how this works. Their experts are all real. Being that they are in Las Vegas , they are readily available.
Corey is even a biggest robber than his dad, I dont know why History would air this.

Buyer: I’ll give you 100 dollars
0:49 when its plural, it's "Cacti". FYI
Technically cactus, cacti and cactuses are all correct plural forms that it's only cacti is a misconception
Pablo Gonzalez same for octopuses as well
I can buy a regular guitar with 250$
Thats hilarous. 151 lolol
Gene Autry was straight-edge before straight edge was cool, before it was uncool, back when it was cool
he just wanted to win lol
This guitar is not fit to be played OR displayed. And it's not worth restoring. All you people whining about robbery and low-balling....tell me....what would you do with it?? Crickets....
I'd rather hang it on the wall of my shithouse rather than sell it to that baldy, money grabbing wanker.
I’m going say that’s one of those that ended up in the garbage after a year on the shelf. I wouldn’t want that crap even if they gave it to me for free.
I would have gone to see Jesse with it.
Lol 1:41 awkward laugh
Go across the room and buy a guitar and then tell these guys it's a Gene Autry!
The item is worth 90 to 100k at auction today, I'll give you 5k, thats the best I can do. I'm taking all the risks here.
they just don't know how to appreciate the guitar.. should have taken it to Norman's rare guitars
I bet some people here pay double what the sellers asking for because they dont run a resell business.
I just spent $100 on lunch
Look its a acoustic with a big whole in the middle , give you 10 bucks
lol rick would of said, 100 bucks last deal and tehn said ok comeback if ya change ur mind
Leaches
What a joke, I'd have given him a lot more than that.
I would not have sold it.
I'm sure they sold it for at least 6 hundred bucks.
No, Roy Rogers is and always be the KING OF COWBOYS.
Cory saw from a mile away that he wanted it gone
Sorry. Best I can do is an overused, unoriginal negative comment about how you rip people off. Take it or leave it.
My guitar was nearly the same price
I'll give you a hundred bucks xD
Nice guitar . Those issues with the guitar would have took a luthier a few hours work to sort out
151 dollars is insulting
That guy got robbed
Corey's always ripping people off
Jesse before is only Jesse no last name
got bearded and now famous
Wow!......$151
Just how stoned is Corey?
Should have gone to Jesse's shop

Gene Autry was cool but he was NOT the king of the cowboys. It was ROY ROGERS, KING OF THE COWBOYS AND DALE EVANS, QUEEN OF THE WEST.
Someone fire Corey cause he changes the prices very low to 100 dollars.
too bad U can not bring it back
