Hey trogly theres a guitar museum in Chattanooga called songbirds, its amazing,i can't describe the stuff there, some of the stuff there( Hendrixs guitar, some of the only first fenders and Gibsons, the first black gibson, first telecaster with a certain finish, theres a fender prototype there with a foam pick guard with the pickups below it,first Gibson explorers and flying v,and so much more and its amazing and after this i recommend to get a tour there) also it would be cool to see a 7 string Gibson sg if you wanted to check that out

I actually met Steve during the 2019 tour and he was a really nice guy. I got an album signed by him and got my poster signed as well. That man can play a guitar even at his older age, I remember him coming on stage with an acoustic and just the magic that it was. It's awesome you had a chance to own such an amazing piece of history.

have a 10th of his talent and they
just blow you off that they are all that.
When that happens I loose interest
and don’t buy another thing by them.

To me,.. that is the most fantastic guitar. Not because of the history but because of what it is. That is the epidemy of guitar craftmanship, artistic expression and passion simply as it sets there. Could never part with a piece of art of that caliber. Playing it would be a must and yes,.. showing it off would be a must. Again,.. not because of history or the fact it's a genuine Gibson Les Paul. Those things simply make it even more special. Beautiful Guitar. Just Wow!

Your guitar museum is fantastic! I LOVED my tour. And especially getting to play Jimmy Page’s original 1275, and Alex Lifeson’s white version! (I preferred Jimmy’s, I must admit!), not forgetting Zappa’s original “Roxy” white-faced headstock SG! That was a dream come true for a Zappa fanatic like myself!
And George Harrison’s rosewood Tele from the Apple rooftop gig was another highlight!
But the killer was getting to play Macca’s original Höfner 500/1 bass! That was another dream come true! How you managed to persuade McCartney to part with such an iconic instrument is anyones guess, but well done!
Ps. I case you were getting confused by my comment, I’m a time traveller folks, and just got back from Trogly’s guitar museum in the year 2052!
Unfortunately the technology is only capable of taking one person at a time (that’s me, of course!), but once I get back from my next visit to Area 51 I’ll have enough parts to beef it up so someone else can come too!!
It’s an expensive trip, so start saving up yer pennies, people!

Such a beautiful piece of gear. Reminds me of when I sold my '82 Les Paul Custom (yes Norlin - yes HEAVY) Doesn't really compare to the Steve Howe, but I know the feeling of heartache when you have to part with a guitar that means something to you. Good luck, stay healthy. Keep making great videos!

I lost an original 1982 HAMER double cut in red with an ebony neck and a Floyd Rose, in the pawn….and all for the sake of a measly £50! It makes me sick every time I’m reminded of it. Don’t do drugs, kids! They’re the ruination of a life!

I was thinking about getting a guitar and I was going to ask what you thought about making a huge comprehensive comparison of les paul custom v standard v modern v classic v studio v tribute v junior. Giving them ratings on sound quality and playability and such relative to eachother. Then you could go over prices for new and used and give the general value price for each as well as which model is the best overall value. Thought it would be really helpful to people new to this and wanting to buy and just good for that information to be out there from an expert like you.

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I just think it would be a good guide for anyone, I've seen his other videos but those arent comparisons those are reviews of single guitars, a massive all encompassing guide would be good for the community to have from him. He works alot, I know, but im going to keep asking what he thinks about making it because it would be a good info video he could make to highlight all the general differences of each model aswell as comparing and contrasting them.

Love your videos. I'm a conservator by profession. Bubble wrap in direct contact with a surface like that can cause irreversible change/damage. Wrap the instrument in acid-free tissue then bubble wrap if you want so no plastic in contact. Also (sorry to rage), the switch tip... put it in a zip bag and write on where it is from with the serial number of the guitar. So easy for removed components to become disassociated. If you want to 'improve' packing, it would make sense to contact a conservator (American institute of conservation?). That bubble wrap may be there for decades. Thanks for all your friendly content.

If I could've afforded such a guitar I know it would near break my heart to part with it. I got to say this having bought the 61 reissue SG Maestro I'm so glad you take all the care you do to packing a guitar because when I came out my front door the jerk that delivered it left it dangerously balanced on the top rail of my porch instead of taking a couple more steps to actually put it on the walkway at the top of the steps.

I always wanted to make an offer on this guitar - I already have one of his es175's, but the import duty alone to the UK would have been more than a custom shop r9 ! (probably more than 2 of 'em !!!) Honestly I think selling the shows/channels mascot might not be such a good idea though man - the place already feels different - kinda empty. Can you tell us what country it went to ?

I know you're just being extra careful, but as a retired shipping driver, (20+years) I can tell you, when you people pack a cardboard box extra tight like that, it's easy to just chuck it in the corner of my truck, and keep packing stuff in up against it,(or using it as a big box to prop up other boxes because it's sturdy) then moving it back and forth a hundred times during my route, PACK SOMETHING THAT SPECIAL IN A WOODEN CRATE !!!! (a small coffin labeled "max's last ride" or something like that) guaranteed a safe ride after that. great video!!! keep up the hard work !

Sad day indeed Austin. You may recall that I played this guitar in 1978 or 1979; it was on tour in the UK as part of the "MUSEX" musical equipment exhibition roadshow. I understand that Howe used it on some of the Tormato album and Gibson borrowed for the exhibition tour it for its showcase value. I was 16 or 17 at the time; my friend Max (bass) and I attended the show, filling our plastic bags with leaflets, stickers and cheap freebies and checking out exotic equipment that was way beyond our reach. Following the demonstration of The Les Paul, there was a large crowd of guys just standing in awe; I had nothing to lose and asked the presenter if I could play it. He gave me the thing without a blink. Max grabbed a late 70's era Gibson bass and we performed our best interpretation of Xanadu by Rush following which there was a mad rush by everyone else to play the thing. Good memories. I am sure you will miss this guitar a lot. I wish I could have bought it.
