Honestly,they didnt mention Jeremy being in ADTR because they arent huge-huge. Yeah, theyre big, but theyre not known-big. To us ADTR is big because thats our scene, our genre. To the average person Jeremy is just a guy in a band. If they mentioned ADTR I guarentee hardly anyone would know what ADTR is. Keep in mind most of the watchers are in their 50's so idk why youre all angry they didnt mentioned ADTR

He needs to make money, so he's going to try to buy it for as little as possible. 2. It's entirely possible (this is what I would've done) that Jeremy asked for a much higher price than he knew he would get, just so he had room to haggle down.
Also, I dont think that the people from Pawn Star would know who A Day To Remember is, i love adtr , one of my fave bands, but i watch pawn stars too, and i have a good feeling that they dont listen to metal/ pop punk, so there is another good poin to support your reason yatsign007

uhm my buddy who listens to adtr and other such music uses a mes boogie gigging amp as his bedroom amp and plays on a bunch of limited edition guitars and has a vintage guitar collection. look at the adtr guys before they even got huge and they were gear nerds same with loads of other people. i wouldnt say they are necessarily rich but people who play instruments and like this kinda music generally are willing to put out for quality instruments. i went to high school with kids who had axefx for their home set ups and didnt play shows. also Jeremy has played acoustic guitars for some adtr songs. also i know loads of guitars that have belonged to famous musicians who werent famous for playing that guitar or playing guitar at all that have sold for an increased amount. the issue is more to due with people in this genre also wanting a 4 string. a regular 6 string sure, but its a tenor guitar ive seen old ones that were well made that people couldnt give away, the only reason that one is worth shit is cause its a vintage martin, which the people who are collecting martins are generally not hardcore/derivative people.

unlikely, the problem with that is then it becomes more valuable but less sellable to a larger crowd. think adtr not huge but big, but its their vocalist not a guitarist, and its not something hes likely used for performing. its a collectible martin which means theres already a decent value to them aside. but its a 4 string, which makes it less valuable and desirable anyways. so you have a niche guitar(4string) by a brand thats more popular then the band who owned it, so if they sign it you raise value for a few but destroy value for most people whod be willing to drop the cash on a vintage beat up martin, if it was something less valuable in its own regard thatd work, but the value it already has as is is worth more then the signed version ever would be.
Somehow I find it hard to think that A Day to Remembers fan base made up with which the majority of whom are average teenagers are going to want a pre WWII era Martin plus I doubt the band themselves would want to ruin such a guitar.

Well this was originally aired 2010 or possibly even earlier...ADTR didnt really hit mainstream til 2008/2009, if this aired now I'd ask the same question but back then...who knows, circumstances can be tricky times. Also, do you have any idea how much the record company takes of that? A fucking lot, they probably only made half of the total sales on each album of a band if that. And from the rest they have to divide it up between anyone and everyone who runs the band. This includes stage crew, merch guys, sound crew etc...it really doesen't leave just one person a whole lot of money.

unlikely, the problem with that is then it becomes more valuable but less sellable to a larger crowd.
think adtr not huge but big, but its their vocalist not a guitarist, and its not something hes likely used for performing. its a collectible martin which means theres already a decent value to them aside.
but its a 4 string, which makes it less valuable and desirable anyways.
so you have a niche guitar(4string) by a brand thats more popular then the band who owned it, so if they sign it you raise value for a few but destroy value for most people whod be willing to drop the cash on a vintage beat up martin, if it was something less valuable in its own regard thatd work, but the value it already has as is is worth more then the signed version ever would be.

Somehow I find it hard to think that A Day to Remembers fan base made up with which the majority of whom are average teenagers are going to want a pre WWII era Martin plus I doubt the band themselves would want to ruin such a guitar.
As a fan of adtr and a guitar lover for them to sign it would destroy its value
to the right fan yeah maybe, but the issue is by then theyd have either dropped the price or someone else wouldve made an afford for less and theyd take it or wait years probably.
the number of people who like adtr enough to want a vintage guitar signed by the vocalist(who only pays guitar for a few performances of a few songs, and i dont believe he plays a 4 string) or the whole band, who also want a martin vintage 4 string is small as fuck.
tenor guitars(4strings) dont sell for shit in fact many places couldnt even give them away for years. the only ones worth money are from specific brands and more so because of the brand name then want of a 4 string, as well as the fact that those brands usually also carry stupid high premiums for the stuff people actually really do want besides for the name on it.
think if it like some old cars, old chevelle worth money, some of the old malibus that use literally the same chassis and almost body are worth alot less, yet people take them and convert them into chevelles(i might be thinking the wrong to models kinda tired but yeah you get the point) that martins value is there because of the martin name on it, and in that case people want unaltered. a huge adtr would buy it, but youd have an easier time selling a guitar that belonged to one of the guitar players. or selling jeremy's acoustic he played on stage or in a music video or something. and the people likely to look for that stuff are more likely to look for other stuff if it popped up some might buy it for 5k or at least more then what he got but the chances of finding them are reduced or at least finding them quickly.

For everyone saying that it's unbelievable that Rick didn't know who he was, you sound stupid. A Day To Remember is a big band in its own world (The Punk Scene) and one of the most successful. But It's not like their a household name, so just calm down.

I love the comments on this video because ADTR 10 years ago was big in the scene but not a huge band now theyre one of the most succesful bands to ever come from the culture. A new signed guitar is worth a lot more than that martin these days.

I don't understand why Jeremy McKinnon, who is probably a multi millionaire, would want to sell his guitar that probably has alot of sentimental value, is very rare, and would probably be worth ALOT more than it already is worth because it belongs to him, for a measly $2,500
Well this was originally aired 2010 or possibly even earlier...ADTR didnt really hit mainstream til 2008/2009, if this aired now I'd ask the same question but back then...who knows, circumstances can be tricky times. Maybe they needed extra money to pay for a lawyer or something for contract issues (random guess)

Not all of the fucking money they earn is given straight to Jeremy, they have to pay every one who works for them, which includes managers, riders, drivers etc. And let's not forget the other members of the band.
Also, do you have any idea how much the record company takes of that? A fucking lot, they probably only made half of the total sales on each album of a band if that. And from the rest they have to divide it up between anyone and everyone who runs the band. This includes stage crew, merch guys, sound crew etc...it really doesen't leave just one person a whole lot of money.
