I love the duality of Max and Goofy, and the interplay of his bitterness versus his fathers enthusiasm. They're not really arguing, just stating how they feel, which is a great message for kids. 'You can talk about things you like, or dislike, without being confrontational.'
I dunno. What I got from the song is that the two aren't listening or seeing what the other is saying. It's the main conflict of the movie, two generations not knowing how to be with each other.
Max's voice actor is still alive. I think the reason the character is mostly not used is cause he's not the demographic disney is appealing to anymore.
Queenofawesome25 yeah, and it's also really touching story of father and son. There are not too many of them from Disney anyway. :D I think, it would've been a lot better if they would've explained how Goofy became a single parent. We were never introduced to Max's mom, but in old short films we were told, that there is a out of screen character called mrs. Goof. I would really like to know what happened to her.. :(
Snofey1 her name was Mrs. Geef. disney.wikia.com/wiki/Mrs._Geef she was in the series goof troop she was in several episodes although we never saw her face and its believed she died in a car accident

I was really hoping to see him in kingdom hearts 3. He could’ve appeared in Disney town for example. That place from bbs. Sora could’ve crashed gummi ship once again and while chip and dale fixed it, he could’ve gone search something and find Max. And Goofy would’ve been like ”heya son” and Sora would be like ”whaaaa...!” So hilarious 😂 and I was so dissapointed of lack of final fantasy characters too. I wish I was part of production team. I actually thought this was from "An Extremely Goofy Movie" because I saw it on one of the Disney Sing Along Songs. So I watched that movie and the whole time I was like, "Any time now..." I'm kinda disappointed but not that much. It was still cool to see Maxie go to college!! :D
I remember back in the day when everyone in my family & me used to watch movies like these together. Now, it's all changed & i am the only one still nostalgic, while everyone else tells me ''You're too old for this junk'' & ''Watch movies that are for your age'' (i'm 22 by the way)
+lotten1992 You know the amazing thing about Disney movies? They're made for people of all ages! They're not like the Michael Bay Transformers movies, which are clearly aiming at the teenage male demographic.
I happen to like the Transformers, but i understand that it's aimed for teenage-boys with the way the female-characters dress(i am a girl by the way, but i would never want to wear those outfits)
I Believe they've forgotten the joy of Movies like this one & many others used to bring & still brings to us that are still never forgetting them no matter what. Disney Channel is of no help either.
the beat starts with a key, ends with a pan, and establishes the central conflict of the movie! this conflict would later end in the nobody else but you number!
one time my dad and I were stuck in traffic and he was complaining so I was like "oh come on dad aint nuffin Disney cant solve!" and then I started blasting this in the car since I was playing my ipod onto the AUX and then me and him started singing it (he was goofy's and I was max's part) and some other people in different cars with their windows down started singing along xD BEST TRAFFIC JAM EVER!
Even if they are not related, this song is kind of a sequel to the Open Road song from Cosgrove Hall's The Wind in the Willows in which Max felt same like Ratty did when Toad, Mole and Ratty went on the open road in the carriage.

I agree
I dunno. What I got from the song is that the two aren't listening or seeing what the other is saying.
It's the main conflict of the movie, two generations not knowing how to be with each other.
I feel like this is relatable because teens can be natural opposites and feel an urge to disagree with their parents
Personal view or opinion but this movie helped me understand my parents a little more...
Why isn’t Max mentioned or put into more Disney material nowadays? He’s such a great character and underrated.
Maybe they don't want to replace his dead voice actress?
Max's voice actor is still alive. I think the reason the character is mostly not used is cause he's not the demographic disney is appealing to anymore.
@@slamacat9866 His adult actor is. Dana Hill the voice actress of young Max passed away a long time ago.
They don't own Jason Marsden's soul anymore.
Because current Disney administration hate Mickey and the original gang. Just look at that grotesque "cartoon" they recently made

Same. My dad would always quote the moment when goofy says “Perfect cast” after Max saves him. Good times, RIP Dad!
"Im in no hurry to arrive cause ill be turning 65 the next time i sees the open roooad. "
as a kid i laughed at this now i feel bad
I just keep wondering what he did 🤣 Dude's going away for at least 25 from what I saw...it must have been BAD
Bill Farmer that played Goofy is in his late 60s now & was in his 40s when this movie was being made.

I love the fact that in 0:33 - 0:41 Max sings about detention and eating toads. In Finnish version he sings about root canal treatment and mumps.
On Spanish he says it would be better to stay on detention and to catch an infection
In Latin Spanish, he prefers getting grounded or rather eat a frog lmao
In Brazilian Portuguese he says he'd rather be in jail than where he currently is
Seriously guys? I guess it would be different in other languages.
Doesn't feel the same without the pans hitting the bridge in the end. Also this is my favorite song in the movie! imo
He packed the car up too high. IRL it's impossible & everything would fall out.

This is my favorite Disney movie. It’s just so..FUN to watch from beginning to end. Not to mention the amazing animation.

i probably 1st heard this when i was 6 im 18 now and still remember this whole song i was so drawn to this movie when i was young
Not gonna lie, but i fell in love with Max's voice.
His voice is pretty cool. He's the same voice as Binx in Hocus Pocus & Kovu in Lion King 2.
He also voice one of the characters in Spirited Away.
Who didn’t?!
Sadly, Jason Marsden, the voice of Max, did not provide his singing in the film. Instead, it was done by Aaron Lohr.
Have been loving this movie since I was 2. I told my uncle to "beat it doofus" 😂
This is my favourite Disney song :) I always got a little confused with the lyrics when Goofy and Max were singing at the same time lol so thank you!
