    You said it....WOWZA!!!!! 🔥♥️ I kept waiting to see you spritz the veins with alcohol....I never knew they would create cells like that on their own!! I learn something new from you in each video!! I normally don't like earth tone anything in a piece, but this is just gorgeous!!! I only have one thing to correct you on: you, kind sir, are indeed an artist!!! I've seen countless videos and posts of your work, and ALL of what I've seen has been works of beautiful art!! Don't sell yourself short! 🎨🏆⭐️ Love and prayers to you always, (Nunia from RK3 Designers Inside group 😊)

      You're very kind, thank you, Nunia!
      With that technique, using at least one Hammered and Metallic spray paints, and putting them on heavy, working it in with a stick stick creates it's own really cool cells!
      So many cool techniques, it's hard to keep track of them all 😁.

      @@kcdcdesigns After watching your video many different times and again this am, I did my large kitchen sink island this a morning. While it is far from your work or Rhonda’s 🙂 I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. Now I am stressing and crossing my fingers that I mixed the epoxy correctly and it cures properly. I’ve worked with a lot of epoxy but never to this scale before. I will send pics to your email.
      I do have a question for you though. I finished at noon and I want to do a flood coat but I’m worried that if I wait until fully cured and sand with 220 some of the spray paint will come off. I do not know if, when using the chambers effect the paint settles in to the epoxy or comes back up to the top. Do you recommend that I do the flood coat at 10 hrs from noon or can I wait until the morning?

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      Hi Melissa and I'm so sorry for the late reply! The only paint you need to be cautious around sanding is the fast-drying bright metallics such as silver, gold and copper, and you can tell as they look very bright and shiny when the lights reflect off of them. For those, I carefully sand around them so as to not scratch them when sanding. There are some considerations when pouring a flood coat at the 10 hour mark so I almost always wait the 24 and sand. Thanks for the kind words and I'm anxious to see your project as I know it turned out great!
      Thanks for your note and support as well!

    Love it w a question...what would be different had you used a tape dam?

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      Thanks, Jp and great question. I would have had to use a lot more product on the surface if I were to use a tape dam. At 3-4 oz/sf, there just isn't enough material to flow over the edges when you pull the tape. IMO, the only reason for a tape dam is so the design doesn't move/flow when using more than 5 oz/sf and with an exotic pour (6-8 oz/sf).

    A-mazing! Did you have to put a flood coat on this piece or just UTC?

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      Thank you, Tony! Great question, and yes, I always apply a flood coat.
      Whenever colorants are added to epoxy it affects the integrity of it (no longer has the maximum durability, as the way it was formulated to). This is why it's important to apply a clear flood coat, IMO.

    Hi Keith,
    One more question. I tried practicing this awesome piece. Is there a way to eliminate over spray from the spray paint? I dont see that happening on your s.

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      Hey Tony, if you'll notice, I'm getting very close to the surface when I'm spraying on the paint. If you do get some overspray, just run your stick over it and it should blend it in. But I think most important, is getting close with the spray can and apply it heavier than you think you should. I hope that helps, please keep me posted!

      Thank you, Amey! RustOleum is the brand of spray paints I use as they seem to mix with the resin better than any other brand we've tried.
      As far as the colors I used, I used Champagne Bronze, Antique Brass, Hammered Gray and Hammered Black.
      The teal accent was RustOleum Seaside.

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      @@ameyburden8961, you're so welcome! I don't believe the Hammered spray paints and even the metallics indicate gloss or satin although, the majority of other colors I use are gloss, unless they only come in satin (like a few of the grays, tans, etc). I do have some in satin that I've used in some designs because they don't come in gloss and they've worked well for how I've used them. Just takes some experimenting to see how they react and how they fit with your design.

      Hi Judy, I likely used the regular Stone Coat Countertop epoxy on that one, but anymore I primarily use Stone Coat's Art Coat. The cost difference is so minimal and I seem to have a bit more open time with it.

      I'm not sure what you mean by "normal spray". The spray paints used are listed in the description, some of which are hammered, gloss and metallic.
