  • Using Stone Coat Countertop epoxy and Ultimate Top Coat, here's a short tutorial on how I created this beautiful design using mica powders and some spray paint. Followed with a clear coat of SCC resin and topped with Stone Coat's Ultimate Top Coat.
    For the undertones I used Black Metallic mica powder, Silver metallic mica powder and Pearl White paste from Just Resin.
    The veins were created with RustOleum Hammered Chestnut, Champagne Bronze, White Pearl and Hammered White.

      I love watching all the designs, I just love the darker over the lighter colors! You & RK3 rock the resin world! Hoping to do my countertops when I find someone to help me get them off. I've only done a couple kitchen islands & smaller furniture like end tables. Learning for you all!! 🩵💗💙

    What I find interesting is how different the techniques are between Mitch , Rhonda and you, using mostly the same products. So far yours has been the easiest to follow, so thank you for taking the time to make these tutorials!
    You might not want to share the info, but what ballpark dollar figure does a standard kitchen counter top like this cost?

      I appreciate that, thank you!
      My countertops run around $60-$70 per square foot, and I always build new tops.
      Thanks again!

    To cut a hole for the sink, is there any chance that the epoxy would crack? Would a jigsaw be used, or is the epoxy too hard for that?
    Thanks 😊

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад

      Thank you! Great question and yes, you can chip the edges if you're not careful with the jigsaw. Some jigsaws have an orbital setting which is what can cause the epoxy to chip along the edge. As long as I'm not using the orbital setting and don't force the cut, and I have a sharp blade, it actually cuts very well with a very clean-cut edge. If I'm cutting the sink hole after pouring the epoxy, I will always apply a skim coat of 100% silicone on the fresh cut, to waterproof that area.
      Thanks for your question!

    Again how do you get the white to not yellow overtime?

    • @kcdcdesigns
      @kcdcdesigns  Год назад +1

      There are many reasons why epoxy can yellow prematurely, many not related to the actual epoxy resin. All surfaces will amber over time but in 3 years I've not had any that I've installed for customers that have yellowed.
