Glad you established once and for all that there is no "button". I followed the forum advice when I began to experience gimbal problems and saw the same thing when I removed the back plate. I replaced the glob of rubber glue with a hunk of foam in case it was a problem with stabilizing the ribbon connection. That had no effect on my gimbal stabilization problem. Sounds like I'm experiencing the same horizontal motor problem PeterKing describes below
@@QCGUY Off subject: the elephant in the room as far as I'm concerned is the controller. It is so inadequate that it makes zino unusable as a video camera platform for anything other than static shots. Maybe, as you pointed out, it could be the cheap ribbon antennae on the craft, but the chip on the controller should have a better output and recovery rate too
Hi Chris, Thanks. This video confirms my findings as well. If you recall, I had a problem with my gimbal "hiccuping" when pointed straight down. Hubsans advice to me was first, reflash to the previous gimbal version, then upgrade to the latest again. (which did not work). Then they sent me the link to that terrible youtube video that supposedly shows how to find the reset "button". To which I responded "There is not no reset button, and this is getting a bit tiresome." To which they responded: "kindly fill in the Hubsan support forum and ship the Zino together. One we received the Zino, we will ship you new one. thanks" To which I responded: "Did you need for me to fill out a support form? There was none attached." To which they responded: "Kindly attached the support for for your reference." Cue Blues Traveler "Runaround" I am going to test it again after poking around and pushing everything that might be a "button". It's been raining all week here in SoCal so I am waiting for a window to take it out and test it again. Once I confirm that it needs replacing, I will send it off and cross my fingers. Other than documenting EVERYTHING do you have any advice before sending this back? If I need to send it back, I am going to wait until after the Chinese New Year Holiday. (Feb. 15th) I can just picture my Zino sitting in a pile of unopened packages in El Monte CA.
I am not surprised by any of the messaging you went through and other than that all I can say is cross your finger if it comes down to shipping it out.
Yeah the whole "button" thing is garbage. However I was able to reset my gimbal by pushing in on that silver "ribbon" area between the two jumpers, right where you point to at 1:55 in the video. I pushed that area inward with a flathead screwdriver and it made a small tactile click. My gimbal was then reset and worked. Pushing on that area after resetting the gimbal I could no longer feel the click. It's almost like something popped up or out that needed to be pressed back in for the gimbal to operate. Like a breaker. Who knows.
I also have a problem with my gimbal. It displays the error 0x0008. According to your description, there is nothing to press there. How is that exactly?
@@elifbeyzaebru How to make gimbal reset? Should I turn off or turn on the quadrocopter? To close the left two points among themselves, or right? Or left and right?
I can also remember that I have seen a video where were spoken about this reset button and that he would be difficult to reach that was still the camera with the round lens ,think it's great that you go to the bottom of things so thoroughly .
OMG my Zino dropped out of the sky from 20m today due to me failing to insert the battery correctly. OMG again! Re-seating the master ribbon cable by pushing on the Black rubber in the center behind the removable clip actually worked! It's not the clip that you unscrew. It was very easy to do with the Zino Upside Down. Just removed the cover with my fingers. My error was in written red on the app screen as follows : Gimbal Angle Sensor Error" I just wiped off dirt marks on my Zino and I'm good to go!
@@QCGUY Nah, I store my battery in my Zino unclipped. (never again) I flew it for a tottal of 15 minutes (including previous flight) before 25% RTH kicked in. It's a good lesson for me, I will never store the battery in my Zino again and will be more diligent with pre-flight checks.
I've just updated to the lastest firmware , needless to say I've had problems - the Gimbal went out of wack failure to initialise problem x08 . After recalibrating the gimbal in the settings it tells me to restart the drone - but this didn't do anything & the problem persists, it was only until I did the calibration turned it off Removed the battery popped it straight back in and restarted it & now it seems to be working again (for the time being at least).
Tore mine apart like you and found nothing just a cable connector, the black rubber that looked like a button was just a dob of silicone to hold the cable on. I think their reset is a "reseat" of the cable. Mine has no Gimbal error in the app but horizontal axis motor is dead. The cable reseat was for a particular error code in the app. 0x?? if the forum was up I could look up the code :)
That was Hubsan's fix on their forum before it went down for a Gimbal Error in the app, I think the code was 0x80 or 0x40 or something like that. This is an English version someone made of Hubsan's original H.Q. video :) ruclips.net/video/yKQ2-3T3zkY/видео.html
This sounds a lot like what I am suddenly experiencing, no horizontal stabilization. I'm just about to send my zino back to Hubsan for repairs or replacement of the gimbal
Yeah good luck with that, this is the reply I got from Hubsan "Sorry for there is no gimbal or camera for replace because of the Zino complex construction.would you mind to provide the video for our engineer to further checking your gimbal status?" Complex? 1/2 a dozen screws 4 rubber dampeners and 2 zero force connectors and my camera was out :) Ready for a new one. More Hubsan BS.
Hi QC GUY You know what that written means "the tilt angle of the aicraft is too large. The gimbal is under protection". This writing appears for a moment and then goes away. Thank you.
Claudio Del Greco Yes, I know this message. It can be because of a few issues. Loose cables causing the gimbal to tilt and stick, dirt and debris in the moving parts of the gimbal in which you need to clean out with compressed air or calibration is way off. Imu aka horizontal calibration may be of help to. Not sure 🤔
Rafael Chuvalski It’s generally the cable but I would have to see video and more information. I fix these every week from people that send them to me to fix in person.
