    Thanks so much. Just rented this machine for a home project and picked it up in a total rainstorm so I wasn’t able to get a run through from the rental shop.

    Never used any kind of digger before in my life; had a rental Bobcat delivered today and thanks to your videos was able to use it immediately; including manouvring through an 80cm wide corridor! Gotta love the miracle of the internet! Thanks all the way from the Netherlands!

    • @_Moto215

      300-500 lbs that is.

    • @arlingtonguy54
      @arlingtonguy54  2 года назад +2

      You definitely won’t pick up a 500 lb boulder but you could probably push it around. I’ve also picked up heavy rocks by placing them between my bucket and the blade and then raise the blade. That way center of gravity is closer to machine so you can then track. Good luck!👍 and thanks for the comment

    That sounds like the SAE controls that they use mostly on John Deere.
    As a kid I learned to run John Deere backhoe with John Deere backhoe controls. Years later I had to learn cat controls on a backhoe, and then the same thing on an excavator with excavator controls. Then I want to work for a company where I had to run a John Deere backhoe with backhoe controls and I had to quickly relearn them.
    I have heard of people who got so used to running excavator controls one way and backhoe controls the other way. I found myself falling into that also.
    Now whenever I get on a backhoe or an excavator that has excavator controls, which means the levers are beside me I automatically try to run it with cat controls. And if I'm running any kind of backhoe or excavator that has controls in front of me I automatically try to use John Deere control pattern.
    I don't like backhoes anymore. But I do love running mini excavators!

    Does that machine have pilot controls or are they direct hydraulic controls?

    • @arlingtonguy54
      @arlingtonguy54  3 года назад +1

      They are pilot control joysticks. Only the blade is a hydraulic valve stick.

  • @ironguy1

    You covered everything that was obvious very well except you didn't touch on the one not so obvious thing but widely used - the pattern control changer. I'll keep looking!

    • @arlingtonguy54
      @arlingtonguy54  3 года назад

      You are right I forgot while making the video! I mentioned it in the onscreen notes while editing though since I have only used it once to see if I could operate in the other pattern. I couldn’t! 🤣 Thanks for your comment. It’s a simple valve twist in the engine compartment to change over.

    Hi great info but see the little knob that allows machine to turn around mine is stuck in lock so i can't turn i can not get it to lift up and left to release. Is there anything i am missing. its a rental and of course its Easter Sunday and i have it out to do bit of gardening clearance.

    • @arlingtonguy54
      @arlingtonguy54  Год назад +1

      That’s not happened here. I would try rocking the boom side to side while having someone try to unlock the lever. Also I think the pattern is an L shape. It doesn’t go straight up and down. It slides to the side and then up. Good luck!

      @@arlingtonguy54 You Sir are a Star. Worked. Now I have to get some gardening done. Got to go up a slope so I take it that its better to keep the blade down behind you as I go up. Its fantastic little machine on the flat but when you start to go up an angle it gets tad hairy. :)

    • @arlingtonguy54
      @arlingtonguy54  2 года назад

      Have you checked the tension on the track. It’s done by adding grease or removing some grease pressure to get the track tension right. The grease zerk is under the small cover on the side of the track.
