I feel bad for LaBrie, his voice is amazing but he can't sing that high anymore, and this is totally normal and it's sad that a lot of people criticize him for this. Guys he used to sing songs almost screaming back in the days, his voice obviously will be not that high now, give the guy a credit, even tho he cant sing high notes, he still an amazing singer and person, and everybody have feelings ya know
Someone please tell me why Labrie gets so much flack for his voice? The guy is 50 and he still sounds good, ok, not as good as when he was 25, but heck who would, and this isn't the best quality recording. Anyway vocally for his age, his voice is still in pretty good condition, so haters, lay off the guy.
This. Not to mention his overall timbre/tone is a LOT more like it used to be back in the I&W/Awake days. For quite a while, he just didn't sound like himself. I'd say from ~2007-2010, he was just sounding so different than he used to but thankfully, he sounds more like he used to. Sure, he's not hitting the notes as high or as powerful as he used to but like you said, he still sounds good and voices deteriorate naturally with age.. not to mention the fact that they were touring pretty constantly there for several years (a HORRENDOUS idea IMO, but hey, not my call). All things considered, he could be in a much worse condition.
Not sure where he jumped the shark, but I need a new phone cause the screen just cracked. I guess all it takes is fame and a throat injury to get a pass.
