@@poizie85g83 Crybrady next season will have played more games than any other player in NFL history besides KICKERS. Of course Brady has been sacked more since he is slow as molasses in January and has played well over 300 games. A tomb stoning and a sack are not the same thing. In fact, send me a link to a video that shows Brady wobbling coming off the field after being tomb stoned. Surely after playing TWENTY LONG YEARS you can find me at least ONE video clip showing that, I mean if Roger Staubach can be concussed TWENTY TIMES as a starting QB for 8 short seasons, surely you can show me ONE little clip huh? I'll wait😂
My personal memory of Mr Montana will always be that .... inexorable drive at the end of regulation against my beloved Steelers. We felt that injury alone had put us in a wild card spot: at the time we were vying for respect as a top level team again, which in the next few seasons they did get. That drive tore the heart out of Pittsburgh, it was directed under extreme pressure, against tight coverage played by top level players. Montana dissected that defense with perfect passes, thrown from all kinds of silly angles. He was a master surgeon at work. I kicked my television. My dad never even yelled at me for that.
I'm 43 and watched Joe cool a lot when I was a kid. He's the reason I've been a 9ers fan my whole life. Rice ,Lott,Young,Creig, the whole bunch was so fun to watch! So happy you got all this footage together. Thank you
If the NFL had an ounce of sense, they'd recognize the incredible service, by way of exposure, that Miker provides them, free of charge and put him on the f*cking payroll. No one currently providing breakdowns generates nearly the level of excitement that this kid does. It's like watching a f*cking a drama, or maybe a thriller, unfold. There is no hyperbole in that statement. None at all.
I was 24 & 25. It really was different. One of the things I’ll always be grateful to Joe for was getting KC to replace that horrible AstroTurf for real grass to make it easier on his back & knees. Oh, and also beating the donks in the 4th quarter, on MNF, like that fuckhead Elway always did to us!
There is no way to overstate exactly how excited the Kansas City fan base was to have Montana as a Chief. This was a time before legends left their long time franchises to extend their career a few more years elsewhere. To imagine Montana playing anywhere but San Francisco was insanity. Kansas City s GM, Carl Peterson could have run for governor of Missouri at the time and won. I've yet to see a team replicate the kind of electricity that immediately took over the franchise, and even the AFC west as a whole, as teams were jacked to host Montana in the AFC. It was largely believed that Montana would be the greatest QB of all time, and if it weren't for Brady, that would probably be true
I was 19 - 20 yrs old in June , 1980-1981. I was amazed watching Joe Montana, especially in 1983. What an amazing era, watching Joe Montana in the NFL. Never liked San Francisco 49ers, but witnessing Joe Montana, made me want to watch 49ers : Joe Montana. Just amazing QBacking at it's best. Beautiful ERA to watch NFL games. Thank You Joe Montana for your magic in the field. During my twenties was a wonderful - amazing NFL experience: watching Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49ers on the field. Priceless experience. I am a huge 49ers fan I cried when Joe left. I have a KC and a A 49ers Montana jersey. Joe is the real GOAT Brady can keep cheating. Thank you for pointing out that Joe never threw an interception in a Super Bowl. If Joe had a big time wide receiver at KC who’s knows.
id love to see a video on the Brady vs Manning Rivalry. its been 6 years since Peyton Retired, and Brady has clearly pulled away. But id love to see a video about the media coverage, narratives, amongst other things
Mike does this a lot, he also said “thrusted” instead of “thrust”. It’s part of his charm, cause I don’t think he gives a shit. I tried pointing out a French name he pronounced....not French.
and also it's Jan [Yahn] Stenerud. Tougher one but still. I was a 15 year old die-hard Chiefs fan when he came to town. It was so cool to see him play in person. I helped park cars for four hours to get a standing room entrance. You could just tell by his body language when he had the opposing defense fooled. You'd see him scramble a little and somebody would say "who's open?" and you just knew he had somebody. Watching a game in person was more eye-opening back then. We had a 27" TV that was enviable at the time, it didn't compare. I'm so grateful we finally got to a super bowl and the best days still appear to be ahead. I do get very nostalgic for that time though.
Damn hearing Tim Barnett’s name is crazy. I went to elementary school with his kids and he’d always compliment me on how good of a student I was. Totally forgot he even played for the chiefs lol
Joe was fucking amazing. In an era when you could ride a receiver in coverage like a backpack or blindside spear them while they attempted a catch. When you could aim to injure a qb on every hit. There was no one ever better. His arm wasn’t the strongest or most accurate. What he had is intangible. He flat won. He made the right decision every time and made everyone better around him. He was always cool under pressure and just managed to always beat you somehow. He made the chiefs a contender. His duel with elway on Monday night was one of the best games I’ve ever seen. Montana drove the field for a comeback td with 8 seconds left.
I remember the Over/Under lines for NFL games back then were almost always right around 40 points. Kinda crazy to look back and see all those final scores. 17-3, 21-10, 14-0.... the run-heavy days of pro football.
I went to Arrowhead Stadium to see 49ers vs Chiefs, Steve Young vs Joe Montana. It was so exciting even though 49ers lost. Joe was Great as a Chief QB too.
Joe Montana brought pride to our chiefs and he is the goat. Thanks joe for coming to k.c. To play. Wish you would of played another year or two but you are a class act and the greatest QB ever
@@thegoat164 Your RUclips name is "The GOAT #16" There is absolutely no way you don't have a huge bias towards Montana. Both of them had advantages and disadvantages. Montana had a huge benefit playing before FA and salary cap with DeBartolo jr. as the team owner.

I remember watching Joe Montana play at Notre Dame. Yeah, I'm old. He was very low key, but confident, had that swagger even then. 3rd round draft pick. Unreal.
Would love to see some content like this about some non-QB players. For example: A Gates, R Harrison, R Lewis, S Sharpe, T Polamalu, D Sanders, L Taylor, T Brown, W Sapp, A Vinatieri, C Woodson, C Mathews Sr/Jr/III, etc
Joe would have been in the SB that year, if not for the pass interference call in the Raider/Buffalo playoff game. It put the ball 1st and goal for the Bills and was the difference that won the game. The Raiders would have had to go to KC for the championship game.
Wow! Thanks for the memories! I was absolutely obsessed with the NFL during this time. I remember when Montana was playing at Notre Dame. I thought he was overrated because he played for the Fightin Irish.
that's crazy. haha. Joe's college coach Dan Devine was called up by the 49ers before picking in the 3rd round because Bill Walsh wanted Steve Dils his QB from Stanford and Carmen Policy wanted Joe so Bill caved and said if they could get one more outside source to make a case for picking Joe then he'd pick Joe. Devine's answer when asked about Joe? "If I had Joe, I'd still be coaching the Green Bay Packers."
Fun fact: Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, the pre-Brady GOAT, Joe Montana, was a 3rd round pick, and the pre-Montana GOAT, Johnny Unitas, was a 9th round pick who was released by the team that drafted him. You have to go back to the days when Sammy Baugh was considered the GOAT to find a first rounder with that distinction.
@@pjsilvosa7445 Some of them SB wins were by luck. Montana didn't have Vinatieri to come save the day (several SB games) or didn't get lucky by having a dumb ass coach throw the ball the 1yard line...or a team blowing a 25 point lead. TB is great QB but not the GOAT.
People who didnt watch joe think of him like he was brady. An immobile pocket QB who operated within Walsh's system Joe was phenomenal off-script. Accurate rolling left or right. Excellent scrambling to throw. To his detriment, he would also hold the ball and deliver knowing the big hit was coming. He was washed up in KC, but still quite good. His elbow was trashed, and he just had no arm strength.
Guess you missed the part how Brady was a Super Bowl MVP at age 39 *LEAGUE MVP* at age 40 and a Super Bowl MVP at age 43. Montana was done at age 38 and losing Wild Card games
Joe Montana was going to take us to the SuperBowl!!! I was young when he was with KC, but I remember having feelings of football being rigged after a game where some kicker missed all his field goals - even the close ones and I couldn't believe it?
Nah...Tampa won the Super Bowl. It won’t be necessary to tell future generations about Brady, he’s been getting fellated for two full decades. Way more than Montana ever was, Brady has already been canonized 😂
@@alexviking9383 I agree with you to a point, but if he gets caught “losing it” in the middle of a season, he’s gonna need to ride it out lol...the likeliness of this happening all of a sudden to a 20-year NFL Vet is low, admittedly...especially to a QB who has never relied on his “athleticism”, necessarily, to perform his job. Brady is great, it can’t be denied, but the careers of Montana and Brady are so, so different as individuals, but also just the GAME today doesn’t even resemble the NFL Montana played in. Because of rules changes that have, gradually, made passing the be-all and end-all of the NFL, and the numbers of QBs just keep climbing. Brady has NEVER had a bullseye on his back. Montana did. Truly. Look it up. He was purposely KO’d from playoff games vs the Bears and The Giants in the mid-eighties... Brady gets rid of the ball quickly, that’s part of it, and he is accurate, but he doesn’t have to contend with, say, Aaron Donald, actually AIMING to hurt him, as an actual STRATEGY... Remember the way he ran over to the Honey Badger in the Super Bowl and talked that trash? Had a QB even THOUGHT of doing that in Montana’s day, he’d have been carted off before the next series was over. Depending on the OPPOSING defense, of course...
@@tuckercarlsonsmicropenis1283 yeah I agree football is definitely a lot different today especially for qbs. Especially for qbs that don’t run much it helps them last longer in the nfl. I doubt Brady will become drastically worse in the middle of the season. Like you said he doesn’t use his athleticism too much in games. His arm is still pretty strong and when you look at ppl like drew brees in his last year who was still winning games with a pretty weak arm, it makes you wonder how long Brady could play
Montana is the goat. I have the utmost respect for Brady and that he’s done, however, Montana has gone undefeated in Super Bowls regardless of how many he played in.
Man, that was awesome. Over the years I had blanked on Montana's tenure with the Chiefs. I couldn't remember anything bad; I just couldn't remember anything. Crybrady next season will have played more games than any other player in NFL history besides KICKERS. I'll wait😂
Lol people actually believe Montana was better than Brady 😂😂😂
My personal memory of Mr Montana will always be that .... inexorable drive at the end of regulation against my beloved Steelers. We felt that injury alone had put us in a wild card spot: at the time we were vying for respect as a top level team again, which in the next few seasons they did get. That drive tore the heart out of Pittsburgh, it was directed under extreme pressure, against tight coverage played by top level players. Montana dissected that defense with perfect passes, thrown from all kinds of silly angles. He was a master surgeon at work. I kicked my television. My dad never even yelled at me for that.
I still have a Montana jersey. It was in the closet for 20 years. Had to break it out when they made the playoffs with Alex Smith.
I actually have a. Marcus Allen Jersey, Neil Smith and a JJ Birden from back in the day.
Funny you say that because since Alex and Joe went to the same 2 teams I can't tell which team's jersey you're talking about 😂

I'm 43 and watched Joe cool a lot when I was a kid. He's the reason I've been a 9ers fan my whole life. Rice ,Lott,Young,Creig, the whole bunch was so fun to watch! So happy you got all this footage together. Thank you
When Joe got traded to the Chiefs, I became an instant fan. I mean, Joe Montana handing off to Marcus Allen ?
No matter what happens to you, you still produce great content even though the NFL will charge you a lot of money and more. Keep up the good work 👍
If the NFL had an ounce of sense, they'd recognize the incredible service, by way of exposure, that Miker provides them, free of charge and put him on the f*cking payroll. No one currently providing breakdowns generates nearly the level of excitement that this kid does. It's like watching a f*cking a drama, or maybe a thriller, unfold. There is no hyperbole in that statement. None at all.
No one has ever said the name Joe Montana more in 13 mins than Mike
Nice 1 Mike! Classic, Historic , Epic and Every other Word imaginable applies To JOE Montana ....
I was 14 and 15 those years nfl was so different then..!!
Hey flightmike can you please do a video about Patrick Willis?
Yea he needs to do a video on him. He’s the most underrated LB of all time.
@Jayden Ramirez Weird to say that we got Patrick Willis and Joe Staley in the same draft
Pumped for this one mike 🤙🏼
was waiting on this 🐐🐐
Shields was actually a 3rd round pick but it was the Chiefs 1st pick in the draft that year.. Makes Will Shields career look even more impressive.
Man I watch everyone of your vids and it's like I never comment and you absolutely do deserve that. Just want you to keep this stuff up. You're great!
Loved it, and witnessed beautiful NFL Football games at an elite quality level.

Top 2 QB of all time 💯💯🐐
I am a huge 49ers fan I cried when Joe left. I have a KC and a A 49ers Montana jersey. Joe is the real GOAT Brady can keep cheating. Thank you for pointing out that Joe never threw an interception in a Super Bowl. If Joe had a big time wide receiver at KC who’s knows.
Or if he was in his prime he would have probably won them a few superbowls
id love to see a video on the Brady vs Manning Rivalry. its been 6 years since Peyton Retired, and Brady has clearly pulled away. But id love to see a video about the media coverage, narratives, amongst other things
I love these throwbacks of the players that I remember from when I was a lil boy. Thanks
Sorry to do this again, but Steve Bono is pronounced Bone-O... also a future chief, and holder of the strangest QB scramble in history as a chief.
Mike does this a lot, he also said “thrusted” instead of “thrust”. It’s part of his charm, cause I don’t think he gives a shit. I tried pointing out a French name he pronounced....not French.
I don’t think he really knows that much about the NFL in general
Not to mention Dave Kreeg .
@@thawkereynolds based on his pronunciation?
and also it's Jan [Yahn] Stenerud.
Omg KC Chiefs Kingdom Loved Joe Montana he's the GOAT thank you JOE 💯❤️
Damn hearing Tim Barnett’s name is crazy. I went to elementary school with his kids and he’d always compliment me on how good of a student I was. Totally forgot he even played for the chiefs lol
MONTANA IS THE GOAT FOREVER
JoeMontana. One word as God intended. Just an awesome QB!
I love your videos
I remember the Over/Under lines for NFL games back then were almost always right around 40 points. Kinda crazy to look back and see all those final scores. 17-3, 21-10, 14-0.... the run-heavy days of pro football.
This was pretty good, Mike, keep em coming!
I went to Arrowhead Stadium to see 49ers vs Chiefs, Steve Young vs Joe Montana. It was so exciting even though 49ers lost. Joe was Great as a Chief QB too.
Montana in kc was just weird for me at the time but got older realized football was a business
Id like to see you do a video highlighting Marinos failure to get a ring
Joe Montana brought pride to our chiefs and he is the goat. Thanks joe for coming to k.c. To play. Wish you would of played another year or two but you are a class act and the greatest QB ever

How about a video of what you don't know about Former Ravens RB Jamal Lewis? Before and after his NFL career ended
I remember watching Joe Montana play at Notre Dame. Yeah, I'm old. He was very low key, but confident, had that swagger even then. 3rd round draft pick. Unreal.
He would have gone higher, but apparently Notre dame coaches bashed him routinely in the run up to the draft.
Joe The Goat
As a 49er fan, I really didn’t appreciate how well Joe played in his last 2 years in KC. I was focused on Steve Young. Way to Go, Joe !😅
Joe would have been in the SB that year, if not for the pass interference call in the
Raider/Buffalo playoff game. It put the ball 1st and goal for the Bills and was
the difference that won the game. The Raiders would have had to go to KC for the
championship game.
Wow! Thanks for the memories!
I was absolutely obsessed with the NFL during this time.
I remember when Montana was playing at Notre Dame. I thought he was overrated because he played for the Fightin Irish.
I really loved the NFL then too. I was just a kid and knew all the players on all the teams and would carry my football everywhere.
@@jamesrich3426 Me too. Had a blue Nerf football I carried everywhere!
Plus another 12-15 footballs in my room.
that's crazy.
Joe was the best quarterback ever, and I m in Scotland and know nothing about the NFC or what we called American football. He is a true genius x
He would walk in the water now these days with all the QB overprotection they have now
Yup
Awesome video, absolutely love this 💯 %
Do a story on Mr. Butterfingers Dave Kreig!
Your stats are wrong Marino has the most yards and touchdowns in 84
Do a video over Tony Gonzalez please
Thank you , Joe

@@pjsilvosa7445 Some of them SB wins were by luck. Montana didn't have Vinatieri to come save the day (several SB games) or didn't get lucky by having a dumb ass coach throw the ball the 1yard line...or a team blowing a 25 point lead. TB is great QB but not the GOAT.

People who didnt watch joe think of him like he was brady. An immobile pocket QB who operated within Walsh's system
Joe was phenomenal off-script. Accurate rolling left or right. Excellent scrambling to throw.
To his detriment, he would also hold the ball and deliver knowing the big hit was coming.
He was washed up in KC, but still quite good. His elbow was trashed, and he just had no arm strength.
At 2:22, did you say 'A perfect 4-4 record'? Love your video's Bro!!
Great vid bro, Enjoyed the history lesson. Watching this vid makes me see even clearer on how Tom Brady is basically Joe Montana 2.0 haha
Guess you missed the part how Brady was a Super Bowl MVP at age 39 *LEAGUE MVP* at age 40 and a Super Bowl MVP at age 43. Montana was done at age 38 and losing Wild Card games
Those dark visors in the 90’s were so dope, ahead of their time
Montana was the man!
The only GOAT... PERIOD
The way they speak about Tom Brady today, they spoke about Montana the same way in the 80's and early 90's.
Montana had no Brady rules. That’s why he was beat to hell, just like Aikman and Young.

The GOAT B4 THE TERM EXISTED.
No doubt about it now
Nice video. Also, Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hopefully it goes well for you and your family.
Imagine seeing this abt Tom Brady with the bucs in 30 years
Nah...Tampa won the Super Bowl. It won’t be necessary to tell future generations about Brady, he’s been getting fellated for two full decades. Way more than Montana ever was, Brady has already been canonized 😂
It won’t end well for Brady. Should have retired after the COVID super bowl. It never does look at history.
@@dejohnson2277 I think he will retire before he becomes bad. If anyone knows his body it’s him and he thinks he’s got another year atleast in him
@@alexviking9383 I agree with you to a point, but if he gets caught “losing it” in the middle of a season, he’s gonna need to ride it out lol...the likeliness of this happening all of a sudden to a 20-year NFL Vet is low, admittedly...especially to a QB who has never relied on his “athleticism”, necessarily, to perform his job.
2:21 perfect 4-4 record 😆
Montana is the goat. I have the utmost respect for Brady and that he’s done, however, Montana has gone undefeated in Super Bowls regardless of how many he played in.
Man, that was awesome. Over the years I had blanked on Montana's tenure with the Chiefs. I couldn't remember anything bad; I just couldn't remember anything.
